The house is a newly restored farmhouse, completed in the summer of 2000. It has four bedrooms (two with double beds, two with a pair of twins), and three baths (the two twin bedded rooms share a bath). It easily accommodates eight people and is spacious enough so it would never feel crowded. The house is simply and sparsely furnished. Furnishings are simple antiques and comfortable beds and sofas.
The master bedroom has its own terrace which faces our astonishing view of the Valley and of Todi. There is a large, comfortable living room which is central to the house. Off of the living room, there is a library complete with a window seat and fireplace. Also adjoining the living room is a wonderfully appointed new kitchen and a full dining room with seating twelve. The dining room fireplace is equipped for cooking as open-fire cooking is an Umbrian tradition, especially in the colder months. The house has a good collection of travel and all nature of books about Italy, as well as incidental items like games, videotapes, and audio tapes. It is well equipped with kitchen necessities and linens. Pets are NOT allowed, No Smoking.
Every room on the ground floor opens to the outside, onto one of three terraces. There is a front terrace under a shady pergola, a large terrace off of the kitchen, living room, and library which has an outdoor dining area that seats twelve, and the pool terrace which includes another shady pergola area. The house is all stone, which stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It is heated so it can be used all year round. The fall and spring are ideal months in Umbria as fall is late and spring early. The swimming pool is not heated, but is heated by the sun to a refreshing warmth. It is all one depth, about five feet, so it is not suitable for diving or for children who do not swim. The pool is fenced for protection.
ADDITONAL RENTAL INFORMATION:
* Housekeeping services are two mornings a week for which you will pay directly.
* Other expenses you will incur are telephone, electricity, and gas which are all paid on a per unit basis based on meter readings when you arrive and before you leave.
* There is also a security deposit to cover any potential damages.
* Our caretaker will meet you upon arrival and departure to take all meter readings and settle accounts.
