Aloha! This is truly a special and unique part of the world. Condo #17, Hale Maluhia (House of Peace), sits OCEANFRONT on the Sea Mountain Resort at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach. It is a spacious separate one-bedroom unit, built in the "Kama'aina" (Hawaiian bungalow) architectural style, fully furnished with new hardwood and tile floors throughout. Sit on your private lanai and enjoy an unobstructed view of the ocean, 18th green on the adjacent golf course and the private grounds of the resort.
Your experiences can be as varied as your imagination. Whether it's a very short walk to the world famous Black Sand Beach with turtles nesting on the shore, golfing or playing tennis at the adjoining facilities, hiking or exploring along the beach, exploring local sites such as South Point (the southernmost point in the USA) or the remarkable Green Sand Beach, travelling to other parts of the island such as Volcano National Park, Parker Ranch, the Kohala Coast, Waipio Valley, the towns of Kona, Hilo or Waimea, exploring or dining in the two local communities of Naalehu or Pahala, or just relaxing at home on the lanai, by the pool, or sitting in the hot tub at night looking at the stars in the crystal clear black sky, you can be as busy or relaxed as you choose!
The daily tradewinds, the world-famous Punalu'u Black Sand Beach (home of the protected Hawaiian green sea turtle), and the many historical sights which abound in the area, make this one of the most special places of Old Hawaii.

This condo is in a very quiet golf community, we think it has the best ocean view of all the units at Sea Mountain. The bedroom isn't oceanview but you can hear the ocean as you lay in bed. The black sand beach is just a few minutes walk away, which we enjoyed in the mornings as we discovered that was the best time to see the turtles either on the beach or swimming in the water. This is a great place to stay if you don't mind seclusion. Kona is a little over an hour away which we drove to a few times despite the distance, and the volcano is about 45 minutes away. There are a few restaurants nearby which are fairly priced and a grocery store, but we recommend getting your groceries when you fly in (@ Hilo or Kona as it is much cheaper there), the kitchen is equipped such that you could make all your own meals and there are new gas grills over in the pool area. We enjoyed the hot tub almost every night and mingled with other residents who were all very friendly. The bathroom is a little older but that doesn't detract from how great the place is, great place to enjoy peace and quiet. We'll never forget it!
