Tropical Evergreens, a Beachfront Paradise, Soliman Bay Tulum
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Far away from the hustle of every day life is a peaceful retreat located on Soliman Bay between Akumal and Tulum, Mexico. With white sand, blue green water, and palm trees you are as far from the maddening crowd as you can get. This vacation spot has it all. Cozy hammocks great for catching up on your reading, fabulous water adventures just outside your door, (snorkeling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, you name it) or delve into a past that is thousands of years old, with the local Mayan ruins. Completed in December, 2000, Tropical Evergreens' casa grande and casita are decorated with exquisite local art and pottery. The native plants offer privacy from the neighbors as well as great cover for birds. There is nothing like waking up in the morning amidst the lush greenery of the jungle, with the quiet murmur of the ocean in the background.
The Casa Grande is located beachfront in the center of Soliman Bay, Tulum, Q Roo, Mexico. It is a beautiful beach house with a split-level first floor. The open palapa roof is 2 1/2 stories high. On the first floor, a king-size bedroom w/1/2 bath; full bathroom; large open space living-dining-kitchen area with large table seating 6-10. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrig, microwave, coffee maker/grinder, blender, all amenities. Drinking water provided. Crib and highchair available upon request. The Welcome Book in the Casa Grande will provide you with information about the house and the area. Please take time to read through it.
In the loft are two queen bedrooms and a small sitting area with futon and DVD player (no TV service, but a large library of DVDs), reading library, board and card games. The upstairs bedrooms are separated by a full bath w/shower. A desk area for your computer w/ high speed internet is in the foyer area upstairs.
There is wireless internet throughout the property. It is recommended you request international phone service from your cell service provider in advance for the time you are there.
In the front of the Casa Grande, the overhanging palapa porch provides shade for an outdoor table, chairs and large hammock. There is an outside grill with piped water, gas and lights. Swimming, snorkeling and kayaking are just 20 feet out to the beach, there are 2 large palapas with beach chairs and hammocks for a day on the bay. There are two double kayaks and two single kayaks, life vests and snorkel vests available. Bring your own snorkel gear. There is a natural ocean pool in front of TE, waist deep, sandy bottom, perfect for a day of swimming, snorkeling, sunning, or just relaxing! Coffee or tea on the beach at sunrise... a must!
Combine with the Casita guest house for your entire family reunion, max 10 people and one child (on the futon) with the rental of both houses. Christmas and New Years weeks book both houses together.
The caretakers Vicente and Mari live on the property. They are there to greet you, give you keys, show you about the property. They clean every morning, do dishes, change the linens every third day, rake the beach, keep the garden and grounds, and are there for your comfort and convenience. Please let them know if you have any questions, or if anything needs their attention.
The Casita guest house at Tropical Evergreens is behind the Casa Grande, separated by a green jungle garden makes both houses very private. The Casita has a full living room, fully equipped kitchen with bar eating area for 4; TV for viewing DVDs, a large library of DVDs provided. Queen bed and full bathroom downstairs. Exterior stairs outside go up to the second level, a large deck with chairs and hammock; bedroom with two twin beds and full bath upstairs. Both floors of the Casita are air-conditioned. The Casita also has an outside grill with water and lights. High speed internet is available throughout the entire property.
Rent a car at the airport and drive 61 miles (101 km) down Highway 307. Past Xel-Ha and 7 km from Hidden Worlds, will be the "Retorno" to the Soliman Bay beach road. It is now a new, 4 lane, divided highway all the way to Tulum, with overpasses at all the main towns. Detailed driving instructions and maps available with reservation. There is now 24 hour security on Soliman Bay, only one entrance at the Security Station.

Wow, this is truly, without a doubt, the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken in my life and certainly in one of the most beautiful locales. We spent many hours just laying around in hammocks or lounge chairs just watching the waves, drinking Dos Equis and eating homemade quesadillas and guacamole. How great is that! The house is perfectly appointed with everything you need and what you can't find the lovely caretakers will locate it for you. Don't be worried by the drive up to the house. It's a bumpy road and you can't tell what is waiting for you when you finally pull up to Tropical Evergreeens, but you will be THRILLED when you walk in the door. Forget your troubles, come on get happy! This is the place to do it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Tropical Evergreens is even better than we imagined. The property is beautiful and beautifully maintained. Every amenity is available, from a well-stocked kitchen, outdoor grill, kayaks, snorkeling equipment and shaded hammocks to a delightful property manager who welcomes you with information on what to see, where to eat and how to navigate your vacation on the Mexican Riviera. We spent a week and it wasn't long enough to see and do everything, plus just hang out on the beach. The ruins are a must, particularly Tulum with its breathtaking views of the ocean. The beach at Boca Paila in the Biosphere south of Tulum is a perfect picnic destination. Pick up your chicken at Pollo Bronco in Tulum on the way! Zamas, on the beach south of Tulum ruins is a great place to sit outside and sip a margarita, as is La Buena Vida between the town of Akumal and Yal-ku Lagoon with excellent snorkeling. Both are open beachside restaurants with glorious ocean views. There are two supermarkets in Tulum plus shops selling tortillas, fresh fish, fruits and vegetables for those evenings you'll want to stay home. Despite what you hear is happening in other parts of Mexico, we never once felt unsafe. The people are friendly and the area is well policed. We are planning to visit again in 2012, but will stay longer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had visited Tulum many times, and felt this area had some of the nicest beaches. We decided to look for a place to stay in Tulum. The Tropical Everygreens was a wonderful surprise. A beautiful house, right on the beach, with lots of privacy, shade if needed, and true Mexican hospitality. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends, and hope to get back there soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of four spent 10 wonderful days at Casa Grande, Tropical Evergeens. House is beautiful, has everything you need, beach and snorkeling amazing. Property is very well maintained, housekeepers did very good job keeping it clean and nice. Nice, warm water is 10 feet from your door! Our 2yo and 6yo did not want to leave, and we had to promise them to get back soon! Soliman Bay is only 15 minutes from Tulum. Unforgettable vacation!!
