Surf View Villas is comprised of 13 ground floor semi-detached units. Each unit has its own private patio.
We have a beautiful view of the sea from the patio, and also from the living room and bedroom windows.
There is a common swimming pool within the complex. We are located only a few steps from the beach. Our newly renovated kitchen is nicely equipped. The bedroom has a king size bed with a three piece ensuite bath.

This rental provides a wonderful way to stay in a quiet non-touristy area of Barbados with easy access to town and all needs. The area is Inch Marlowe and is basically right at Surfer's Point and next door to Zed's place which makes for great beginner and longboard surfing. It was a great choice for a family trip with a 6 month old and we used public transportation for a week and rented a car for a week to get around the island more. The whole area is residential and rental mixed which is great if you want to meet and chat with people from Barbados away from the tourist scene. A major daily ritual of many locals is to take a bath and sand scrub in the pocket beach by point, join-in and you'll some really amazing people and see a turtle or two if you are lucky. There are limited services right there but Zed's and the Ocean Spray do offer some food and drink, the benefit is that it is not a built-up touristy area. No shopping, bars on the beach or things that come along with that, just a great little beach haven with really nice people. You can take the bus into town (5 min walk to the stop and 10 or so minute ride) and get groceries, go to the Oistins fish market, spend the day at Miami beach which is crystal clear water with powdery white sand or connect with busses to take you other places on the island. There is a great beach just east for solitary walking but the shorebreak can make it a little rough for non experienced swimmers. Much of the shoreline near the unit is sharp limestone rock with pocket beaches and tidepools (and a pool at the complex) so it's easy to choose your comfort level to take a dip. The unit was great with 2 patio areas to chose from, sun or shade any time of day, fully stocked with cooking utensils, the bed was super comfy, everything clean and easy to navigate. Bert provided help with getting a crib for us and answering any questions about getting there and has a detailed pdf of how to get along in Barbados and with anything useful for staying at Surfview was super simple, but like anywhere new there are quirks to know about in daily life. In all a great place on a great island to cook your own food, do some watersports, and just hang out with out all the hustle and bustle of the west side.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children.
