This home is exactly as described and photographed as shown on VRBO. Without a doubt the most accurate description we have experienced in our use of VRBO. Do not hesitate to rent this home. It is very well furnished, the beds were great, the kitchen is cooking ready and the setting is superb. The snorkeling in front of the home was wonderful, and turtles were seen on every outing. The owner is great to deal with.

My wife and I just spent 10 days at the Poipu Beach House and it was beautiful. I guess we were in a rut. We spent every evening on the porch watching the sun set and the locals surfing. On our last day we spotted whales off the coast. The house was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The ocean is feet from the back of the house and Baby Beach is a wonderful little private beach. There is a shopping center about a quarter mile away that has a half dozen restaurants and they are all very good. That was nice and easy for meals we didn't want to eat at home. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I spent a week at Poipu Beach House in late September. The only bad part of this stay was having to leave at the end of the week. The photos of the house are great but nothing prepares you for the moment when you open the door and the ocean is right there! It was breathtaking! The house is very clean and just feels like home. Lovely, quiet neighborhood with snorkeling, beaches, restaurants and shops nearby. We can't wait to return!

My husband and I stayed at the Beach House for a week in August and my only regret was that we didn't stay longer! It is absolutely perfect! The location is perfect, the views spectacular. The house is spotlessly clean and felt more like a home than a rental property. It is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, beaches. We ate most of our meals sitting on the lanai looking out onto the ocean. It just doesn't get any better than that.

This house was just as described. The moment we walked in we felt like we would never want to leave. There was beautiful ocean views from almost every room. We sat on the deck every morning drinking our coffee watching all the surfers. You could look over the edge and see beautiful fish and turtles swimming by. It was also in a great location where we could walk to the market or to Lappert's and get icecream. Lee was very helpful and any issues that came up he was very prompt to address. We would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend this place if you are looking for an upscale home on the sunny side of the island.

My (very new) husband and I just got back from our honeymoon. This was such an amazing house, we miss it soooo much already! The view is incredible and it is so soothing to sleep that close to the ocean. One piece of advice is to make use of the beach access right next to the house at low tide. There is an amazing beach to your left and we watched a sea turtle play just a few feet from us! Otherwise make sure you try Josselin's, it's walking distance and amazing, I'd leave my husband for their butterfish.

Our family stayed in this gorgeous home for a week at the end of May. It couldn't have been better. Honestly, I never leave reviews for anything, but wanted to make a point to take the time to review this property. We were able to see tons of turtles each day from the back yard and took turns snorkeling behind the house while our kids were napping. This is a lovely home for families - it's very well stocked with everything you need for lounging at the beach, snorkeling, or boogie boarding. We cooked in most evenings, and found everything we needed to make amazing meals. It is a safe area - I jogged in the mornings, and found great routes in every direction. We also had a very good experience with the owner, and appreciate how easy he made things for us. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone. We look forward to visiting again!

If you are visiting the South Shore of Kauai and in the Poipu Beach area, we would strongly recommed that you consider this property - especially if you do not want or need the resort stuff. We travel frequently to the islands and look for properties where we can relax, work at our own pace, have the flexibility to eat when we want and have something where we can allow ourselves to be truly on vacation. This property exceeded our expectations - wake up in the morning, make a coffee and walk to the front porch which is just 10 feet off the shore. We visited in late March but the whales were still there right in front of the house, turtles were visting the rock wall and large parrot fish and other reef fish could clearly be seen in the waters. No need to go to the tourist traps to watch sunsets - evey night we enjoyed a cocktail on the front deck and had it all to ourselves - then off somewhere for dinner or a quick tapa plate in the dining area. The master bedroom is a glass door away from the same views and access to the seafront. Doesn't get any better than that. I have referred the property to a friend who will take an extended family trip and you could consider cottages right across the local street by the house for others who are visiting with you = don't consider this for just couples or two. When I asked my wife if there was anything she would change there were just two things - first, the steps to the front garden have lava rock so look for the couple of smooth ones if you are basre footed ; the other was to change our return flight so we cold stay longer. Plenty of amenities nearby in Old Koloa Town or 1/2 mile up the road for super market, dish shop, wines etc. We did not enjoy the local Merrimans restaurant especially when compared to the one at Kapaluaa - noisy, not good service and expensive. Took care of that with fresh fish from the adjacent specialty food store and we made tuna sashimi and mahi mahi in a white wine sauce at the house. Much better even with my cooking skills. We are planning a return trip next winter.

What a great beach property! Right on the water, yet very private from both the beach and street. Fantastic views from any room, a full length deck provides ample space for outdoor dining and relaxing, and a narrow strip of grass is great for sunbathing. The house is comfortable, clean and modern, and exceptionally well equipped. Easy walking distance to several nice beaches, or the Living Foods market for fresh fish and produce, and the Beach House restaurant. Snorkeling is good in front of the house, although water access is challenging due to the rocks - better to walk a short distance to Baby or Lawaii beaches. If you watch carefully whales can be seen spouting and rolling just outside the reef. This place is super, in every way!

My girlfriend and I spent an incredibly relaxing week at the Poipu Beach House over New Year's. The view from virtually the entire house is just breathtakingly beautiful, and the house is extremely comfortable, quiet and peaceful. The sunsets were stunning, and we were amazed to see 7 or 8 sea turtles and many colorful fish in the snorkel spot just up the street. Lee, the owner, was a wonderful host -- responsive to questions and helpful, but kept a low profile and respected our privacy. The location is close to lots of great restaurants and nice beaches too. I would definitely come back, and highly recommend this house to anyone interested in a relaxing spot to enjoy a beautiful part of Kauai. Five stars plus!

Description and pictures are spot on. What a stay! Home is wonderful. The entire back of the house features a patio with a private ocean view. My husband and I enjoyed coffee, tea and cocktails on said patio while soaking up the sun and surf. Preparing lunch one afternoon, we enjoyed watching several whales' breach on the horizon. It was awesome. Our two teens loved how close the house was to everything... shopping (new outdoor shops with restaurants & Bubba's Burgers), sand & sun. We snorkeled (three beaches in walking distance) and enjoyed Kauai's Backcountry Adventures - sugar shoot tubing was excellent. We want to zip line next time we are visiting. The owner went out of his way to stay out of ours, but he was always a phone call away with helpful tips or directions on how to find something on the island. Would recommend this property to friends & family. We cannot wait to get back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Poipu Beach House. From the minute we walked in the door, to the minute we left, our experience was phenomenal. We rented the house because of its location and the fact that it was right on the water. We were not disappointed! We could walk to a wonderful sandy beach a few doors down, and to the fabulous Beach House Restaurant, a 5 minute walk. Also, a 1/2 mile away was the Kukui ula Village with great shops, restaurants, Lappert's Ice Cream and Living Foods Market. The house was exactly as pictured. It was perfectly appointed with absolutely everything we needed, right down to the sand chairs and umbrella for the beach. The best surprise was the amazing privacy. The way the home is situated and the lush landscaping gave you a sense of being completely alone. We loved waking up every morning to a cup of Kauai coffee, and watching the early morning surfers and snorkelers from our room. We can't say enough wonderful things about this place! We highly recommend it, and plan on going back.

Totally as described and then some! I have heard of whale watching but from a house just a couple of hundred yards offshore (in March)? Amazing! Great central location along the southern shore. It was actually hard to pry ourselves away from the house to go sightseeing since the views from the back porch were simply stunning. he free wireless connectivity was an added plus. While others were paying extra for snorkeling tours, the snorkeling in the semi private tidal pool a few short feet away (litterally) was amazing. I can't say enough positives about this property and I certainly have nothing negative to say.

We have been coming to Kauai for 20 plus years and this home is by far the best on the island. Totally private but close to everything. Great floor plan for 2 or 4 people. The gourmet kitchen is fantastic even if you don't cook. The master bedroom with the ocean 15 feet away is to die for. The sound is so soothing. They have everything there that you need so you don't have to go running around buying things. This house is on a nice quite street so you don't have all the noise and traffic that other places do. Very calm and peaceful. Very well maintained and the owner provided his cell number if you needed anything, a great person. All the best restaurants are with in 3 minutes of the house or you could walk to some.

we stayed in November 2009 for my wife's 50th birthday. The house is wonderful and as described on the website. The photos are accurate. The ocean is about 20ft. away and we snorkled with turtles 5 feet from shore in three feet of water right in front of the house. The master bedroom is right on the water as well and if you do not sleep well there with the waves crashing on the reef off shore, you have serious insomnia issues!

Lee, we really enjoyed our week in your beautiful home. It was exactly as the photos indicated. We had breakfast every morning on the deck, a few feet from the ocean, such a relaxing way to start each day before exploring the island. It was great!

We were looking for a beautiful, quiet home for a week's vacation, and we certainly found it. The house, inside & out, is absolutely as beautiful as the pictures. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck every morning, literally a few feet from the water, and were back on it for many of the evening sunsets. It was a great base from which to explore the island (and, in our case, its many restaurants!). Exactly what we were expecting, and we really enjoyed it.
