The Gatehouse at Sleepy Creek
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Originally a Civil War-era farmhouse, the Gatehouse at Sleepy Creek sits on 24 secluded acres of woods and meadows at the foot of the Sleepy Creek Mountain. The property is on a bend of the Sleepy Creek, perfect for swimming, fishing, canoeing, tubing, or just an easy hike.
Wildlife abounds (deer, turtles, crayfish, groundhogs, hawks, and all sorts of critters), but civilization is only five miles away in Berkeley Springs. The country's oldest spa, Berkeley Springs has much to offer: restaurants, shops, art galleries, a cinema, and a community theatre, as well as its famed warm springs. The nearby Cacapon State Park has a famous golf course, a swimming lake and beach, hiking, tennis, volleyball, and horseback riding.
Enjoy nature at its best at only a short drive from the Washington D.C.-Baltimore area!

Thank you for allowing us to stay at the Gatehouse! We had a wonderful time hiking with our dogs at the nearby state park. We caught some fish in the creek and really enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch. We had a relaxing vacation and really appreciate a setting where we could bring our dogs with us.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This place is beautiful!! We really enjoyed the creek, the swing, and the view. Both nights we roasted marshmallows and made smores. While we were in the woods our dog found the coolest turtle. We all enjoyed our stay. Thanks a lot. The sound of the creek is very calming.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

April 18-20, 2008 We enjoyed a nice family getaway weekend. On Saturday we went into town and got to sample some of the local wines at the wine festival. In the afternoon we explored the woods and creek. It was a beautiful sunny day. We got to see a turkey, some deer, and a possum. Saturday night we made a fire and cooked some ribs. Yum! Sunday morning was rainy but peaceful. Thanks for opening your place to us. We had a great time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
