Keywords: Adorable and sparkling clean summer Home near the beach
Positively spotlessly clean summer home in the Heart of Narragansett Pier! Our air-conditioned, cottage-chic shingle-style beach house is located directly in the Heart of Historic Narragansett Pier, and yet in a beautiful, quiet, residential area with lots of trees and flowers! We are two mini blocks to the ocean and seawall, and walking distance to Narragansett Town Beach ("The Pier"). Park your car in our driveway for the week and enjoy a beautiful stroll along the seawall and the ocean to Narragansett Town Beach,(other lovely beaches are a few minute drive); The Coast Guard House, Turtle Soup, movie theater, ice cream parlor, more great restaurants and nice shops. Walk in the opposite direction and you will find a wonderful playground around the corner on Boon Street, fantastic restaurants, including the renowned "Crazy Burger", and Markos' Kebob (both inexpensive, fabulous and bring your own wine - no corking fee!).
Decorated and freshly painted in pretty colors, whimsical artwork, new comfy mattresses & pillows, steam-cleaned each season; designer bedding, new master bath, immaculate, fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer and air-conditioning! We stay here ourselves for part of the summer, so you can be sure it has LOTS of "special touches" and all the comforts of home. Enjoy WiFi, cable TV, VCR/DVD player, land line, games and books for kids and adults.
A large living room with fireplace overlooks a lovely, furnished deck with gas grill. Four very pretty bedrooms, including large Master Bedroom with new private bath, sleeps eight. A lovely, fenced-in large backyard and off-street parking complete the exterior. Beach chairs and umbrella are provided for your convenience.
Just across Ocean Road is the ocean and a large jetty with fishing and jet ski rentals. Next to the jetty is an old-time seafood shack with Rhode Island clamcakes and clam "chowda"! The Pier is the prettiest neighborhood (and the original residential area) in the Town of Narragansett with beautiful, diverse architecture, mature trees, flora and foliage.
Narragansett Town Beach is a twelve-minute walk along the ocean and seawall, but some prefer to drive with all their beach gear. Other Rhode Island beaches are a five minute drive. There are golf courses close by; as well as fishing, tennis, movie theatres, wonderful shopping and great restaurants in every price range and cuisine you can imagine.
Kids love to go to Adventureland which is also close by, for miniature golf and entertainment. If you like to cook, there is a large, modern Stop and Shop down the road, as well as the fabulous up-to-date Belmont Market in Wakefield - about a mile and half away, for organic foods and wonderful fresh produce. Lobsters and the daily catch can be bought off the fishing boats at nearby Galilee, next to the Block Island Ferry.
Also nearby is Historic Wickford, home of the Wickford Art Festival and great shopping on Brown Street; Misquamicut, Watch Hill/Westerly (with its famous Flying Horses Carousel); Jamestown, Newport (home to famous mansions, the Cliff Walk and the Tennis Hall of Fame) are all a short drive from our house. We are a car ride away from Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun, if you're in the mood to gamble! Come to Narragansett for a dream vacation. Make family memories in our Narragansett Pier summer home by the ocean!

Why the Owner Chose Narragansett
Narragansett Pier is the home of wonderful childhood memories It is the loveliest and most residential neighborhood in all of Narragansett It is centrally located, a stone's throw from the beach, the ocean and seawall, restaurants, movie theatre, shopping, library and post office! Most important it allows us, when we are there, to spend the whole day at the beach or enjoying everything South County has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Ocean breezes and a stone's throw to the ocean where I can sit on the seawall and daydream is what makes life worthwhile for me in the summertime!
A stone's throw to the ocean, the seawall, sidewalk to walk along the ocean and Monahan's Seafood!
A stone's throw to the ocean, the beautiful seawall for strolling, and Monahan's Clam Shack if you get hungry for famour RI clam cakes and "chowda" (and other good New England treats!)
One of three beaches near our house - this one is the closest (is walkable - the other two are a short drive away), and is famous for having the best surf on the entire East Coast.
The Pier Shops are approximately where this pointer is. Wonderful stores for clothing, shoes, fabulous candy store, souveneirs, two unbelievable restaurants (TRIO and Monkey), a movie theatre,
Just around the corner from our conveniently located home is a fabulous, newly updated playground for your children, and two other terrific restaurants - eat in or take out (and also are very BYOB fri
A wonderful neighborhood shopping center with a huge modern Stop & Shop for your groceries, a fabulous Mega-Marshalls including Home Goods; Calvitto's Italian Bakery and Pizzeria (mmmmmmmmm good home
This is a state beach - some love it - some prefer the quieter Sand Hill Cove and Narragansett Town Beach -- a quick drive from the house, tons of parking and a beautiful pavilion with showers.
This is the beach that children love because it has a playground with a merry-go-round; very tame surf and beautiful white sand.
Owner's Map of Narragansett
I am a native RI'er who left the Nation's Smallest State to live in the Nation's Capital for 40 years. My husband is from NY. We bought the Narragansett home while still living in the DC area (Bethesda, MD) but we missed the ocean so much, we moved back here. We live closer to the city, but try to come to our summer home as often as possible. The rest of the time, it is rented out to some mighty nice people who seem to want to come back every year!

My family absolutely loved this home. It was immaculate and had everything we could possibly need from lobster pots, games, sugar for coffee to beach chairs. The owners thought of everything. I had one question after arrival and the owner called me right back on a Saturday evening. The recommendations for dining and shops were right on target. It is in a great location and easy walk to the town beach. The master bedroom was huge as was the living room. The deck and yard were wonderful for cookouts. We are returning again this summer and can't wait. The guests we had visit last summer are interested as well.
Owner response:Thank you, Cindy, for your kind words and lovely review!! We look forward to your return this summer! Bev

My husband and 2-year old son stayed here for a week with our friends and their 2-year old daughter. The house truly had everything we needed - plenty of space for everyone, the kids loved the backyard, we really enjoyed relaxing and eating meals on the deck, and the house was comfortable and clean and well stocked. I've rented a lot of vacation properties, and this was one was more comfortable and homey than most. Clearly the owners care a lot about this house! The location was also perfect - we walked everywhere. We were a few blocks from a really great playground and some fabulous restaurant options that the owners recommended. And we loved the walk to Narragansett town beach every day. It was also easy to jump in the car to explore a few neighboring fishing villages and one rainy day at the Providence Children's Museum. We made some great memories this week. And as an added bonus, the owners are very easy and pleasant to communicate with. We sincerely hope to come back again soon!

I have rented for many years in Narragansett and found this property to be terrific. It was exceptionally clean, in a great location and had all of the room and amenities needed for a great beach vacation. If you plan on using an I-pod for music, you'll need to bring your own player. Truly everything else is provided. Great house. Owner very attentive and a real pleasure.
Owner response:Thanks, Rick! We loved having you stay at the Walnut House - you were great! We do hope you will come back next year. We got Wifi in response to one of our frequent guest's request and we'll try to have an iPod player by next summer - cuz we always aim to please! :-) Bev

My family & I travelled from Florida to stay in Narragansett this summer. The owners exceeded all our expectations to make sure that our stay was wonderful. The home was sparkling clean, location was wonderful and had EVERYTHING we needed! The owner, Beverly, made our expereience even better by sharing local tips, hotspots, dining spots, activities and events with us. The deck of the house was great for enjoying the cool ocean evenings. I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to stay at this house. It was adorable and carefully decorated to enhance the seaside experience. Big thank you to Beverly for sharing her lovely home with us!
Owner response:Diana - thanks SO much for your wonderful review. We are so happy you had such a great week at our house. We hope you'll be back again!! Bev

We truly enjoyed our week last year and have decided to come back this year. The house is spotlessly clean, well furnished with a touch of whimsy, and convenient for walking to the beach or to dinner at a range of restaurants. The neighborhood is quiet and residential. There is plenty of room for 6-8 people and there is a nice enclosed back yard for children. We've had a lot of experience renting summer properties. If you are looking for a pretty cottage by the sea, this is it. There is plenty to do in the area and many suggestions are provided. We drove to Newport a couple of times and it is 30 minutes or less away. We're looking forward to our week again this year.
Owner response:Wow, Geoff, thanks for the lovely endorsement!! We are looking forward to seeing you back again in June! Thanks again. Bev

We spent a week last summer here and had a great time. The house is very clean and comfortable and convenient to alot of restaurants. With children, it is not a walk to the beach, which did not bother us a bit (some beaches however are hard to park at on weekends). There are plenty of beaches within a short drive so we easily found the ones we liked best. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable house that can accomodate a large family easily. We had 3 adults and 3 kids and it worked great! Enjoy!
Owner response:Debby - thanks for your kind words. You were great renters and we would love to have you back at our home! ~Bev

My husband and I stayed at this lovely house for a week [end of June]. Bev [the owner] has an artist's eye and enlivens this house with whimsical beach art. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and two upstairs bathrooms make it easy for everyone to get ready for the day's activities. Everything, from the cozy eat- in kitchen to the charming living room/dining area is immaculate. There's a large, private deck area off the living room if you like to eat out. Of course, being able to walk to the beach is a major plus This house is also close to great local dining, shops, a movie house and a library.
Owner response:Sandy - thank you for your great compliment and we are so happy you enjoyed your week at the beach. In addition to being terrific guests, I have also found a nice friend! ~ Bev

We have been renting houses by the ocean for ten years. This was the cleanest, best-maintained home in which we have ever stayed. No odors, no mildew, all spic and span. Our two families stayed there (4 adults, 3 kids) and while is it not huge, we were all quite comfortable. A large master bedroom and another fine room for the adults. Two bedrooms for the kids. The house has tasteful "things" also (dishes, artwork etc) which I think make you feel better on vacation! We loved being able to walk to restaurants in Naragansett and to be able to walk down the street to the ocean wall. Beach is also walkable but we often drove with all of our gear. The owner also provides great info about the area so we knew where to go. I would recommend this house to all my friends.
Owner response:Linda - thank you SO much for your very kind words! We do try to make this home the very same kind of house we want to stay in when we go away on vacation. Having a sparkling, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated house for our guests to vacation in has always been our goal. It is so gratifying to know that we have accomplished our goal. Thanks again and we sincerely hope you will return again. You were also great renters! Bev
