We recently had a ladies trip in Kauai and we loved our stay at the Nihi Kai Villas. The condo really is a short walk to Poipu Beach and we enjoyed being able to have breakfast out in the lanai and then heading out to relax/swim/snorkel at the beach. The condo was well stocked with all the essentials, pots/pans/dishes/towels, we loved it and would highly recommend it!

we had an incredible time in Poipu..the Nihi Kai is at the perfect location no matter what you are wanting to do...the condo has everything you want and need to have a carefree vacation..the layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms make it great to share with another couple..going for a walk each morning then stopping by to visit the turtles was a great way to start the day..the condo and the grounds are immaculate...Maureen made arranging the rental very easy....we will be returning to this paradise

Fantastic Condo Experience

We have been visiting Poipu annually since 1985, and have stayed at Nihi Kai Villas since 1992. For each of the last three years, we have stayed for three winter months in Unit 501 and have absolutley loved it. The unit is very nicely decorated, always well equipped, and kept spotlessly clean. The owners and the on-island rep are great to deal with and take pains to look after all our needs (which are few!). We highly recommend this unit to anyone who is thinking of visiting Kauai.

We just returned from almost a month in this condo and have already booked for a return visit. The location in Poipu is the best with everything you could want in a vacation rental. The grounds were great and very well taken care of. I will recommend this rental and the other 2 the owners have also as we had relatives staying in them and they were equally great. Thanks for a great holiday.

My wife, 22 month old son and I stayed at Nihi Kai for a week. It was a perfect family vacation. The island is fantastic, and the condo made for a great stay – with a great pool, barbecue, picnic tables, patios with great views and beautiful grounds. We’d recommend a trip to Kauai at the Nihi Kai villas to anyone looking for a great family getaway. We can’t wait to come back.

PERFECT- our 4th Kauai trip, 1st stay Nihi Kai! Ideal location for beach activities (terrific snorkling), great proximity for shopping, resturants, hiking ("gotta do" the Sleeping Giant) & extended walks, & super area for watching BIG crashing waves & turtles- we were "Wallnuts" almost each eveing! This condo sits quietly in the complex, amidst lovely Botanical Gardens We were want for nothing- really! We had easy access & beautiful driving all over the island. We love Keoki's outdoor dining, & everyone has to get a Puka Dog! Having a COSTCO nearby is a real plus. This condo is a definite return destination for us- HUGE Mahalo, Maureen & Bruce!

Truly a Memory Maker

It's hard to believe that we've been home for two weeks now:( I wanted you to know that we had one of the best times ever! Truly a memory maker. From the moment we opened the door to the day we had to lock it for the last time we felt at home the entire time. We saw some of the most magnificent waves that we've ever been able to witness in person. We were told that there was a storm that originated in Fiji which caused them. The local surfers were stoked, however most of the beaches were closed to swimming for a few days due to the tremendous tide activity. Of course on those days we went inland and hiked some rugged and beautiful trails leading to hidden waterfalls that most "tourist" never get a chance to see. Your kitchen is very well equipped making it easy to prepare our gourmet dinners! They were enjoyed on the lanai with the evening breeze cooling our brow as we reflected on the day together. Turtles. . . . . . I must have counted dozens every day hanging out in that little cove just in front of the entrance to the villas. Crafty little (and some very big) fellas; amazing how they navigate the surf without getting slammed against the rocks. I actually think they wink at you when they pop their heads up for air:) Amazing creatures; graceful and yet so very quick and agile. I could write a mini novel about our trip, however I'll end it here with a very simple but sincere statement: We were blessed. Mahalo Nui Loa,

We are departing Kauai today for Atlanta. Before leaving this Island Paradise I would be remiss if I did not comment on your beautiful apartment that you graciously share with us, the general travel population. Your numerous responses to our many questions, as well as your graciousness in alllowing us a late check-out were wonderfully comforting to relieve some anxiousness. Your apartment is beautifully appointed with so many accesories. You essentially negated the need for us to want for anything. The location touches the beach road which is a wonderful perk that I think you could emphasize even more in your marketing. I can't imagine a better condo to stay at

The minute we walked through the door of Nihi Kai 501 we said WOW. This place is even better than the pictures. It has a beautiful kitchen (with tons of dishes and everything you'd ever need), the living room has what looks like brand new furniture with a 32" lcd tv (with great instruction as to how to use it to watch HDTV channels) and the owner told me that the beds in the guest room were brand new (and the one in the master was really comfortable). The best thing about our stay at Nihi Kai (other than the condo - which was wonderful) was the beautiful grounds of the complex (it's like being at a botanical garden), the pool that sits right out by the ocean, and the short (3 minute) walk to the beach where we had the best snorkling of anywhere we've ever been. If your looking for the best place to stay on Kauai this is it.

Nihi Kai Visit

We stayed at the condo for 5 nights and were very happy. It was comfortable and very well equiped.Both the owners and the property manager were extremely responsive to any questions. Casa di Amici is just accross the street. We had a great dinner there and Keoki's is near bye. The grounds are beautiful, The pool was great. The owners pride is very evident in all the extra touchs. We would recommend this condo to anyone. Mahalo

My wife and I stayed with our 12-year-old son in this condo in early April 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit is very clean, well-maintained and up-to-date, just as it appears in the pictures. The kitchen is fully equipped (probably better than our kitchen at home!), there is a nice big living area, two good-sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, two full baths, and there is a balcony/table/chairs that we enjoyed our breakfast on each morning. We really appreciated the closet full of helpful items such as tennis racquets/balls, beach mats, beach chairs, snorkel gear and a mini-cooler. My son was thrilled to see the iPod docking station since he forgot to pack the cable to charge his iPod. The property is also well looked after and an easy walk to a couple of nice restaurants. Brennecke's Beach across the street was fantastic for boogie-boarding while Poipu Beach about 100 yards further west had a great snorkelling area. Both beaches have nice sand for lying on and relaxing. We saw Hawaiian Monk Seals on the rocks or beach literally every morning we were there, and one day a sea turtle decided to pull up onto the beach for the day. I don't know if this is typical for Kauai, but no matter how rainy the rest of the island was, we had great weather in Poipu every day! Overall, Maureen helped to make the booking process run as smoothly as I could hope for and we have no hesitations in recommending this condo to anybody looking to stay in Kauai.

We stayed at NihiKai condos and the unit we had was great! Very nice amenities, well maintained, with new furnishings. It was very comfortable. The kitchen was great and had plenty of cooking gear and plates. There were decks on the front and back for relief from the sun, my mother in law used it almost exclusively. The pool at the complex was great, and location a plus! Thanks Maureen!!

My husband and I took our two children (ages 1 & 5) plus my mother to Poipu for a week. We had a wonderful time and absolutely loved this unit (Nihi Kai #501.) It was beautifully furnished, and the complex was so well maintained. We loved the proximity to the beach, and the pool at the unit was great! The complex was also very quiet at night, so sleeping was no problem. We hope to return to the beautiful island of Kauai, and when we do, we will return to this unit.

My wife and I and our 2 daughters stayed for almost 2 weeks in condo #501 in July. We didn't want to leave. The condo is spacious and well appointed with everything you'll need. I liked hooking up my ipod to the music system, and my wife and daughters enjoyed the wi-fi as they couldn't live a day without a computer. If we were tired at night we'd watch a movie on the DVD player. My daughters played tennis with the balls and rackets provided, and we ate many a meal on the back lanai with a partial view of the ocean. I love body surfing and my oldest likes boogie boarding and being a couple of minutes from Breneke's Beach was heaven for us. My wife and other daughter enjoyed the more tranquil waters of Poipu State Beach, a short walk beyond Breneke's. At night we'd go to Koloa for ice cream and a stroll, or sit on the Nihi Kai wall and look at the ocean and the moon. Plenty of room for 4 people, fans and tv's in every room, a great pool, perfectly manicured grounds; I could go on and on. Did I love it? You bet! Booking was very easy and Maureen and Bruce just seem like the nicest people and really care about your stay there. We stayed in their other condo, 507, last year, and hope we can come back every year.

My wife and I, along with our 5 month old twin girls, stayed in Nihi Kai #501 for a week. The Condo and the experience were everything we had hoped for and more. The beach is close by, the sunsets are spectacular and the unit is beautiful and thoughtfully furnished. I would recommend it to anyone without reservation, and it will be our first choice whenever we return.

We were four adults, two couples staying at this wonderful condo in July, 2010. The condo is spotless, filled with every kitchen item you could possibly need. Cooking was so easy. Beds and pillows are very, very comfortable in two separate bedrooms with a separate bath for each. There is a cooler, beach chairs, beach towels, tennis rackets and snorkel gear. The beach is one block away, the best snorkeling beach around. Boogy boarding there too! Turtles abound in the water. It is soooo quiet and peaceful at night. Having breakfast on the lanai was such a treat every morning, sitting and looking out at the water and the lovely plumeria trees. The grounds are spotless, the swimming pool area relaxing and refreshing. The IPOD dock was a special treat. This condo had every single thing you could need. We so appreciate the cleanliness and fresh look the place has. It was close to everything we needed.I will be recommending it to many friends. In reality it is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Thanks for making our week perfect.

My husband Bob & I, along with our friends Dave & Nicole just returned from our Hawaiian vacation and thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay in unit #501 at Nihi Kai. The grounds at Nihi Kai are well kept and beautiful. We were thrilled with the condo unit. It is beautifully furnished, well maintained, and extremely well equipped for our stay. We prepared all of our meals at the condo and were extremely pleased with the number of pots/pans/dishes there were. Ceiling fans in the living area and bedrooms kept the temperature in the condo very comfortable. The beds were very comfy, and the quality of the towels (beach & bath) were wonderful. We loved having the availability of the washer/dryer. The condo unit really felt like a home for us, and all of us commented on how much better this was verses staying in a hotel room! Thank you Maureen for sharing your place in paradise with us. Arranging the rental was worry-free, and we appreciated your quick responses to our questions. I have been returning to Nihi Kai for the past four years and stayed at different unit each time, but this unit in #501 is the best well-kept unit I have stayed at so far. It is clean and has a well- equipped kitchen. The unit also has a CD player with an iPod doc; a TiVo was a real plus because it recorded the Olympic Games while we were out bogey-boarding(it has one board in the unit). It really is a great condo, has all the amenities my family would use & want in a home away from home. Thanks Maureen, I'll know where to come back to on my next return to Poipu, Kauai.

My wife and I have stayed in Nihi Kai unit# 501 in 2007 and 2008. The owners, Maureen and Bruce, are good people. The condo and the complex are simply great!! Everybody is so friendly! This unit is a great deal as it reasonably priced, beautiful, well maintained and has been renovated in the last few years. To my wife and I, it seems like a home away from home. It has everything you need to feel at home. The kitchen is completely equipped to cook any meal you would at home. The living, dining room and bedrooms (2) are all very comfortable with all the comforts of home. There is two full bathrooms so it is great for two couples or a couple with two kids. There are 3, count them, 3 lanai's to catch the sun or shade, whichever you want. We stumbled across the Nihi Condo's three years ago while staying at hotel in the area. If we had known about the Nihi Kai Complex before we booked the hotel, we would certianly have not booked the hotel, paying double at the hotel and getting less. The Nihi Kai complex is quiet yet very accessible. The complex is right across a small road from the ocean where you can sit on a small rock wall with other guests in the rsort to watch for whales, sea turtles and Poipu's famous sunsets. You are literally a two hundred yard walk to Poipu Beach Park with it's grounds and lovely safe beach for families (great snorkeling) and another hundred yard walk takes you to the Sheraton beach which is an absolutely fantastic beach. There is a nice, good sized pool which overlooks the ocean for those days when the beach is not in the cards. The mature condo grounds are beautiful and well maintained where palms and flowering plants abound. We have been to Maui and Oahu but we prefer Kauai as it quiet and laid back. It is so green!! We like Poipu better than the east or north shore as it is quieter, more consistent weather, easy to get around and as it is on the southern tip of the island where you get those fantastic sunsets. We have found paradise and a 2nd home. I know the owners have two units, #501 and #507 and they are both beautiful. If the owners, Maureen and Bruce, will have us, we plan on coming back year after year to stay in one of the units. Tim
