  What a fabulous stay! We rent on the Island every year for our spring break and this definitely was one of our favorites!! By far, this home felt like a home away from home and not a vacation place!! We had two small children and it was great to be able to see the pool from the kitchen and the layout of the home is fantastic for big groups. Our group likes to drink coffee together in the early morning and watch the Today Show and then at night before bed we watch television as well. This house did not have a living space with a television that accommodates more than ~4 adults and definitely not 7 like we have. That is a small small complaint for the wonderful time we had. The home owner was wonderful and so inviting!! I would highly recommend this home and as always I highly recommend vacationing on the Island!!!

  Sadly, we are just ending a nine week stay at the Gables and soon will be returning to the cold and snow of Vermont. We shall miss the friendly and helpful owners, Pete and Val, who have become friends as well as landlords. They are willing to go the extra mile for their tenants , which is very much appreciated. We, and our occasional visiting family, enjoyed the tastefully decorated villa immensely. We've already booked for next year !!

  We (7 people from Germany) booked the Gables from Oct. 25th to Nov. 3rd 2012 We got married Oct. 30th on Anna Marie Island J. The owner Valerie as well as her “helpers” Mary Lou and Jack are so lovely people and incredible supportive in all questions and situations ! We really appreciate !!! Just 2 short examples. Because it was not easy for us to find a nice wedding dinner location, (from Germany) Valerie supported us months before our arrival on AMI with her ideas, experiences and her personal connections to owners of restaurants on the island she has that we finally found a great place. In addition she offered us to get us some things from the supermarket as we had a late arrival and might be exhausted because of the long trip. We thankfully accepted this offer. The house … well … its amazing and probably the most beautiful residence we ever had in all our vacations !!! It is furnished with so much love for detail, high quality equipment and offers anything you can think of! The pool and its area is awesome we very much enjoyed hanging out there as well as taking the available beach equipment (chairs, bodyboards etc.)and relaxing/having fun on the great beaches which are just around the corner. I can highly recommend The Gables on Anna Maria Island – It’s Paradise in Paradise ! We definitely will come back soon Thank you Valerie. Greetings from Germany

  Excellent house, excellent location, excellent owners!! The house is obviously stunning but also very comfortable. The upstairs balcony which is accessed via 3 of the bedrooms was a particular favourite, very relaxing sat on the rocking chairs reading. The island is perfect for a relaxing holiday with many excellent restaurants. The icing on the cake being the free trolley bus, which stops right outside the house, meaning the restaurants could be enjoyed along with a few beers! Five mins walk to the magnificent beach, beach chairs, towels etc provided by the owners along with useful trolleys to carry it all. It was comforting to know that the owners were very close if there were any problems, not that there were any. Also worth noting that the owners were never intrusive. The only negative is that the house is already booked for the period we want to return next year.

  My husband, two teenage sons and I stayed at this property for a week in July and not only fell in love with this beautiful home but with Anna Maria Island as well. We had never stayed on the island before. We fell in love with the beautiful beaches, both close to the home, a 7 minute walk or a 5 minute drive behind the Sandbar restaurant. For convenience there is a trolley stop right outside your front door on Gulf Drive. If you go you must check out The Sign of the Mermaid restaurant for a romantic dinner or The Sandbar or Beach House restaurant for a more casual dining experience. Visit Two Scoopes for the best ice cream we have ever had. I highly recommend staying in this wonderful home.

  Stayed at this property for a week in March - after 3 days in Orlando - and this beautiful house exceeded our expectations. The owners were excellent from the moment we rented the property, to the moment we left. Val & Pete made themselves available with advice, recommendations and ensured our vist went smoothly (specifically during the St Patrick's day parade). The house is wonderful. Classic wooden floors, spacious modern kitchen and numerous places to make eat and/or make yourself comfortable - inside and out. There's no need to say that it was clean and well maintained, but it was clean and well maintained. The pool (and the pool area) was a great place for us to relax as the surrounding hedges made it very private without losing the lovely Florida sun. We've stayed at some great places, in the USA, but this whole experience was up there with the best. We could have done with a longer stay. We've already looked at returning to this property in March 2013, but to no surprise it already booked up. However, we look to return to "The Gables" as soon as we can get back to Anna Maria Island. Many thanks to Val & Pete for use of their fantastic home, and their wonderful hospitality.

  Absolutely beautiful villa, creatively furnished and decorated, loved the veranda balcony with rocking chairs, and the stylish pool. Perfect location, a short stroll through a pretty neighbourhood to a top class beach. Friendly and helpful owner who quite rightly takes great pride in the property. Would definitely stay again if vacationing at Anna Maria.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Anfang Juli haben wir mit unseren 5 Kindern zwischen 8 Monaten und 17 Jahren eine Woche in diesem traumhaft schönen Haus verbracht. Auch für eine Großfamilie war genügend Platz da, und wir haben uns von der ersten Sekunde an wohl gefühlt. Das Haus war so schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, wie wir es in keinem anderen Mietobjekt in den USA oder auch in Europa vorgefunden haben. Es fehlte an nichts, die Küche war perfekt ausgestattet. Die Vermieter, Valerie und Pete, waren extrem herzlich und hilfsbereit. Auch auf Anna Maria Island kann man sich wohlfühlen. Schöner Strand, nette Restaurants und keine Hochhäuser. Leider sind wir in der zweiten Woche nach Orlando gefahren - wir hätten dort bleiben sollen.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Just returned from 10 days at the Gables on Anna Maria Island. This is a beautiful brand new house with everything you could wish to make the perfect holiday. It was only a 5 minutes gentle stroll to the beautiful quiet white sandy beaches. Pete and Valerie the owners were there to meet us on our arrival and made us very welcome. All their suggestions for eating and drinking were spot on. Just ask and they will be delighted to help with anything to make your holiday special. The local free trolly stopped about 25 Yards from the house and took you to both ends of the island. Our car did not turn a wheel for days on end. This is the 3rd time in two years we have been on the island. It is hard to think of going any where else and the Gables was by far the nicest place we have stayed in not only on Anna Maria island but anywhere else in Europe. We will be back

  Wir haben mit unseren vier kleinen Jungs 10 traumhafte Tage in "the Gables" verbracht und jede Minute genossen. Die Inneneinrichtung ist mit so viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet, dass wir uns sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt haben. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Gastgeberin Valerie hat uns perfekt umsorgt und betreut! Unsere Jungs waren gar nicht mehr aus dem Pool zu locken, der zwar klein, aber beheizt und gemütlich ist. Ein wunderschönes, gemütliches und gut gelegenes Haus. Wir kommen wieder!
