Perfect city retreat
Perfect city retreat
In a large busy city it was wonderful to be able to retreat to such a peaceful and well equiped house and garden. We thoroughly enjoyed discovering that Toronto has miles of beach - we walked the full length along the boardwalk and took the street-car back, stopping for coffee and lunch on Queen St East.where we were spoilt for choice. Andy was a most welcoming and thoughtful host, everything you could need when you first arrive is provided, and the shops and restaurants are a pleasant short walk away. The house was sparkling and polished and there were umbrellas ready for a rainy day. Transport to the city centre is very easy, either park + subway or bus into the subway (one ticket takes you on both) and it all runs very late into the night. Efficient double glazing means you are completely unaware of the road once in the house or garden. Another real surprise was the super birdlife in the garden. Andy keeps bird feeders well stocked and they were visited by a real array of birds. Having Wifi was great too and an excellent coffee machine!

There are several reasons why this accommodation suited our family of 4 (two sons, 12 and 10) perfectly. 1) The welcome! To walk into your holiday home and find a fridge with white wine, homemade muffins, fresh fruit etc etc made us feel at home straight away. Unlike many holiday homes which leave you to buy all your kitchen supplies for six days, there was no need for us to spend money on items such as washing tablets, kitchen roll etc 2) The house was a perfect size for our family. All rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were made and there were enough towels at no extra cost. Comfortable living room with modern digital tv and our children particularly loved the wii (as a matter of fact we hardly managed to get them out of the house! :-). We appreciated the wifi facility which enabled us to google restaurants and places of interest. Last but not least, Andy (the host) has designed the garden to provide various cosy spots for relaxing or even a bbq (which is also available). 3) Location, location, location! After five days in the Toronto area we feel that this bungalow is in one of the best locations whether you are using public transport or have rented a car. We especially liked the variety of restaurants on nearby Queen Street East and were lucky enough to be visiting during the free Jazz festival which takes place in that area. Some little parks and beaches are also a short walk away. 4) Let's not forget Andy, the host who we were fortunate enough to meet and chatted with for a couple of hours on the patio. Get him to do you his Jack Nicholson impersonation!!! Rich, Yvonne, Billy & Tom Neville from Zurich, Switzerland

My stay at the bungalow
My stay at the bungalow
We spent a week in Andy's beautiful house. It's a great location with a bus stop across the road making travel very easy if you do not have a car. We arrived at the house to be greeted with fresh flowers everywhere fresh fruit, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, apples etc. The fridge was stocked with lots of food too numerous to mention. There was a bottle of wine some beer a box of choc and lots of other surprises which we did not expect. The house is very comfortable just like home from home, and is not to be passed up if it,s in the area you wish to visit. We got a weekly travel pass for 36$ and we traveled everywhere we needed to go. Andy is the perfect host one could ever expect to have. It was great to have internet facility available. Again i highly recommend this house. Frances.

About: Hi there, a little about me... I have lived and worked all over Toronto for the last 25 years and love the Beaches area. We have done major renovations to the inside and have transformed the backyard into a very comfortable 'green' oasis in the city where one can chill & relax day or night. Our client list for the last three years includes folks from around the globe; the UK, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria, Holland and North America. Although not new to the biz, we are new to VRBO and look forward to providing a great place for you to stay while enjoying the great city of Toronto.
In a nutshell, everyone who has stayed with has complimented us on these amenities. -Public transit is directly across the street from the house. Literally a 'stones throw' away. -Everything is in the place that you would find in your own home; full bed linens, bath towels, all cooking supplies, Keurig coffee makeer, plates, glasses, cutlery etc, wireless, microwave, TV, central air condition etc. -I am a garden nut and have put many hours creating a backyard garden oasis in the heart of the city. It's a great place to have your breakfast, lunch or dinner, sit and read a book, enjoy a glass of wine under the stars or under the canopy. -Folks that rent cars love the fact that parking is included and that you can park right beside the door which opens into your place. So carrying in your groceries etc. is painless. -This is a great location that has quick and easy access by car or by transit to mostly everything that is great about Toronto. Note: If you are here on business, know that with longer term stays rates are negotiable.
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
I enjoy walking, biking and roller blading on the boardwalk and designated bike/blade path which runs beside it. It is a fifteen minute walk to the beach from our place or 1.5 kilometers. Or if you like, you can drive and park for free on one of the side streets located nearby. I can be downtown in 30 mins by transit, 15 if I drive. Easy access to the great things Toronto has to offer.
