  Aloha! Arrived on Feb 21st and spent 4 days at the villa. Let me start by saying that the villa is more beautiful than the pictures posted. All furniture and fixtures are top quality with flat screen tv's, comfortable beds, wonderful artwork/island decorations etc.... You can tell a lot of time was put into this home to make it as warm and comforting as we found it..... The kitchen is great for home cooked meals and the BBQ grill on the deck was great to have as well. The location was phenomenal ! The beautiful mountains right out your windows and the ocean a few steps from the front door. The Regis hotel was a short walk away which has a wonderful beach and pool ( pool is for guests only,but we snuck in everyday and had no problems :) ) The town of Princeville is lovely as well as the small surrounding towns with plenty of shopping and wonderful restaurants. Our favorite nighttime spot was the St Regis bar which is open to the public and has stunning views of the beach and mountains. The Kona Gold (macadamia nut liquor) might be the best drink I've ever tasted, though it is pricey! In regards to the owners, I only dealt with Kathy who was great! She was prompt in her emails/phone calls, updated us regularly on what to expect from our stay and gave us a great welcome package email of things to do in the area. The home also includes all the Kauai guidebooks you would need. Kathy also was very gracious and accommodating to a last minute change to our plans that I think most owners would be less accommodating/open too. All in all a truly great stay at this villa. We got ALOT of rain while we were there but it was so sporadic that it didn't really affect our stay that much. It was the rainy season so it was expected. In any event if your looking for a vacation home that feels like your own and some very gratuitous hosts, then this is your place! Can't wait to go back some day! Mahalo! Greg and Julie

  Hanalei Bay Villa #25 was the perfect place from which to enjoy all that Kauai has to offer plus have all the comforts of home. We came to Kauai to celebrate my retirement, and lucked into this vacation rental that more than met our needs. We enjoy cooking our own food rather than eating out, so we were particularly impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was, including an herb garden in the back yard. We couldn’t get enough of the wonderful fresh fish, Kauai farm-raised shrimp, and locally grown fruits and vegetables that Kauai has to offer. The kitchen conveniences, including the electric grill, made it possible for us to enjoy these delicious treats using many different recipes. We were impressed with the comfort, decorations, and all the extra conveniences the owner provided, including beach towels, chairs, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, and binoculars, as well as plenty of household supplies such as soap and paper towels. The place is spotless and well-maintained. With a villa like this—a small 2-story house all to ourselves—what more could we ask for in a vacation rental on the most beautiful of the Hawaiian islands? This villa was a real find, and we’ll be back.

  My wife and I stayed for a week in August 2012. Wonderful place, immaculately maintained, well stocked with about every comfort of home. Right across the road from the ocean, and people gather there to watch the sunset. (You can technically see the water from the front steps, but don't come expecting an ocean view from the condo itself.) Wonderfully relaxing lanai facing the mountain side. Kathy was great to work with and offered credit for some minor issues that couldn't have been foreseen. Princeville has the feel of a gated golfing community, which wasn't quite what we expected, but the condo itself has a very comfortable, homey vibe. A 5 minute walk to the St. Regis hotel, whose balcony/bar is another great sunset-watching venue. Could definitely have stayed longer! We hope to return the next time we get to the island.

The new TV, now mounted on the wall, is slightly larger than the old one, and we have DVR. Glad you were able to use the bedroom TV in the interim. Right, our ocean view is from the front door. All of Princeville is on a cliff, so ocean views are not at ground level. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you return in the future. Kathy

  HBV25 stands out as a truly great vacation rental property. The owners’ attention to detail and love of Kauai is evident everywhere you look. Anything and everything that you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable and convenient has already be anticipated and is there for your use. Artwork depicting the local flora and fauna covers the wall. The kitchen is probably the best equipped of any rental property we have ever visited. The location is superb. The mountain, waterfall and rainbow views from the lanai are spectacular. The refreshing trade winds provide natural air conditioning. We never had to turn on the ceiling fans even on the hottest summer days. If you enjoy sunsets, simply grab your camera and a glass of wine, walk a few steps across the road to the cliff that overlooks the ocean, and take in the nightly show. All the north shore attractions and beaches are easily accessible from this location. There are two beaches within walking distance of the property, the world class Makai golf course is a 10 minute stroll away, and the fabled surfing town of Hanalei with its two mile horseshoe shaped beach, shopping, and local restaurants is just a few miles up the road. What more could you ask for? We have visited Kauai many times and hope to return to HBV25 for our next visit.

  This is an outstanding rental and I HIGHLY recommend it. It has a great location to Hideaway Beach (great snorkeling) and the Princeville Hotel, and just a few minutes drive from Hanalei Town (great food and more beach access). The house is super clean, well maintained, and great amenities (kitchen, snorkeling equipment, etc.). The house is perfect for a family and has a great mountain view!! The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook in (grocery store near by). Quiet, fresh air, and great location. Great value for the money!!

  What a great place to make a home base! Way better than a hotel or attached condo! It is so beautiful here, and the home is equipped with everything you need to have a fabulous time! The owners are so easy to work with and they are interested in making your holiday the best it can be. They have all kinds of books and information to help you plan your trip so you don\t waste any time.This unit has awesome views both front and back, which a lot of other units did not. It is well worth the cost. It is a great location to visit all parts of Kauai. We loved staying here and would not hesitate to do it again and recommend it to our friends!

  We love Kauai and can’t stay away from this place! This was our 5th stay at this vacation rental, so now we are quite familiar with Kauai’s north shore and all that it has to offer. We enjoy staying active, and it is the perfect home base from which to enjoy kayaking, beaching, bicycling, stand-up paddling, walking, swimming, or just reading a book on the beach. We prefer cooking meals at home rather than eating out, taking advantage of all the wonderful produce offered at the farmers markets, and the variety of fresh seafood at Foodland and fish markets. This house has a great kitchen, and even an herb garden, which we used frequently. We even ate ripe papayas, picked from the back yard. We especially like this home because as a stand-alone, we don’t share any walls with neighbors. The knock-out view of the ocean from the front door, and the sunset views from the bluff across the street are 2 more great reasons. The place is bright and airy, all the furniture is very comfortable, in excellent shape, and well-situated; the lighting is well thought out (including reading lights for each bed) and the wall decorations are fun and cheery. It’s clear that the owners care about their place and pay attention to details. They treat their renters well, and particularly repeat renters. We are already planning our next trip!

  Our family had an amazing stay at this villa. It's in a beautiful location and the villa itself is extremely pretty, spacious and very well kept. It is spotlessly clean and the owners have thought to provide everything you may need to have a great relaxing holiday. The views are fabulous and it's location makes it very convenient to explore the wonderful places that Kauai to offer. The beach across the quiet road was good for snorkelling and surfing and the hotel a few minutes walk away was well worth a visit. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone and the owners are very obliging and easy to deal with. We would have loved to have stayed longer and will definitely rent it again when next we visit Kauai.

  This was our second stay in #25 after 12 years. It was everything we had loved it for the first time (perfect location, breathtaking view) and more. Kathy and Bob had foreseen our every need, from the perfectly equipped kitchen to snorkeling gear to our own private herb and lettuce garden out back. Everything was in perfect working order and we needed to buy only our food. One of the best things was "the book" that the owners had compiled over the years with tips for how to make the most of our stay. We will definitely be back again and it won't take another 12 years!
