Sue, Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful condo again! That view is indescribable. Aside from Hurricane Earl coming through, we had a wonderful time and are already scheming our next trip down there. Thanks again! John

Sue, That is so kind of you (to let me keep the book as a remembrance of our stay at Luna Bella). I think I will actually pass this book along to my sister and Dad, it is one I think many others would enjoy. Thanks again for the memento. I will bring one of my favorites to contribute the next time I visit. Ali weller

Sue, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the opportunity for me and my husband to visit point pleasant at saint thomas. The condo was wonderful and my husband and I enjoyed our stay at the resort. To be honest, i did not know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised at the professionalism and care the staff of the resort showed to us. We will definitely keep this destination high on our list of vacations. The room was wonderful and the view was awesome. Thank you again. What can I say, I cried the first night because I had booked such a filthy condo. When I awoke to the fantastic view I got a grip on myself and began to clean. The resort , front office., were no help, in fact, they told me if I had booked through Expedia they could help me with my problems, (rusty, stale smelling sheets on sofa bed) coffee pot broken, not enough towels, the bath mat was gray from the filthy grout. Evidently there was a beach towel service and free snorkle gear and kayaks. We were never told this and spent $75 on beach towels. My daughter was informed of the snorkle gear and kayaks from another guest. I spent $18 on cleaning products and felt much better once the grime around light switches and counter tops was removed. A cleaning lady showed up a week after we arrived, I said nothing but told her the floors did not have to be cleaned as I had already done it. She did put fresh linens on the sofa bed but I had already spent an evening in the not so great laundry room washing our sofa bed linens and towels. If this condo were cleaned it would be a great spot with a million dollar view. We had to remove the outside light as it was hanging and hitting the wall in the high winds. Several of the dishes were chipped and we did throw one away after a minor cut. So, Clean it up at it will be worth every penny you charge. The Agave Terrace was fantastic Several people tried to talk us into going to Coki Beach but as you may have read, a 14 year old tourist was shot in that area riding on a safari bus, we kept very close tabs on our 16 & 18 year old girls. We happened to be at Fungi's when that took place, we saw the police cars and heard the sirens. We were glad we had not walked to that beach as it was described to us as the :local's beach. We did not feel welcome by the locals on St. Thomas but St. John and St. Croix has a friendlier feel.
Owner response:I love Luna Bella and it’s important to me that my guests are happy and enjoy their stay. Whenever a guest calls with a problem I always respond immediately and make sure the problem is fixed, and if it can’t be fixed promptly either I refund for the days where there’s no electric or A/C, or get them another room at the resort. A vacation condo sees a lot of wear and tear, and things need to be replaced often. Over the years I’ve installed a new high-efficiency Mitsubishi A/C, new refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, pots & pans, etc. Not only do I do owner bookings on HomeAway, but I’m also on the Point Pleasant Hotel Program and the hotel staff books guests directly into my unit. The hotel maids clean up before each new guest arrives, and provide clean linens and towels. They also have staff on the grounds to fix anything that’s broken. I depend on their staff to take care of my condo, and I depend on my guests to let me know if anything is wrong. I can’t fix a problem if I don’t know there is one. This guest did NOT even try to contact me, even though they have my phone number and email address – and the signed Rental Agreement specifically states that the guests will notify us promptly of any problems. If they did I would have made a quick call to housekeeping and the property manager and everything would have been taken care of immediately. I’m sorry that these guests did not feel welcome by the locals. When I brought my mother for vacation last year, she thought the people of St Thomas were the warmest and friendliest she had ever met!

Hi Sue: Norma and I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your condo. The location was great and wow what a view.. We spent one day shopping in Charlotte Amalie but for the most part spent our time around the East End. We enjoyed lovely lunches and dinners at The Celler, East End Cafe, Agave Terrace and Blue Moon Cafe. Got a lot of beach time at Lindquist Beach. Enjoyed Sunday Brunch at Caneel Bay and lunches at The Ocean Grill and Lime Inn on St John's. Drank Bushwackers at Duffy's Love Shack and hung out with the locals at Latitude 18. We purchased two beach chairs which we left in the hall closet for future occupants use. We are home until March 4 and then leave for two weeks in Naples, Fl. By the time we get back the midwest should be thawing out. Hope we can include a return to St. Thomas in next years winter plans Best Regards, John Myers

Hi Sue! We had an amazing time at Luna Bella! Our two weeks there were fantastic. The views from the condo were stunning and the atmosphere at Point Pleasant was so relaxed. We actually made an offer on a condo down the hill which was accepted and we close in a few weeks! Maybe we will see you at Fungi's the next time we are there! Thank you for all of your advice about ferries, restaurants, and Point Pleasant. We had a blast! Take care, Maura and Gio Berloni

Sue, Just wanted to check in after our marvelous week on St. Thomas. Your condo at Point Pleasant was just exactly what we needed. The balcony was fabulous, what a view and what a breeze! We liked being on the East End of the island, close to Red Hook and away from the hustle and bustle of town. We did go in to town one day, but really we prefer to swim, snorkel and sail. We wnet to Coki beach, took a day sail to Jost Van Dyke, went to Magen's Bay, took an evening sunset sail, and spent an entire day on St. John. Lots of swimming snorkeling and relaxing on the balcony. Thanks for your condo--great place to stay! Chris

Hi Sue,My husband Don and I stayed in your condo in July and we LOVED it! We got married on the beach while staying there. We’re thinking about a return trip for our anniversary in July. So, I’ll be bold and ask if you discount for return customers, and also we’re thinking of staying 10 or 11 days, not just for a week. Really we can’t say how much we enjoyed staying in your unit. The views were spectacular and the minute the door opened to your condo and we could immediately see the view we knew we were going to have a good time. We loved the pools, the view of course, the location, parking was easy, getting around the property was so much fun and no trouble at all, we loved exploring. We had breakfast every morning out on the balcony and we also spent time out there every evening to unwind after our “tough” day at the beach! We look forward to hearing from you whenever you get a chance. Karen Barger

Dear Karen & Don, We’re so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Luna Bella. Our first time there, Nick & I checked into the condo later in the evening, and when we walked through the front door and saw that huge moon rising over St John and the British Virgin Islands, and reflecting over the water, we just couldn’t believe it. We spent half the night on the balcony staring in awe at that amazing view. The next day our Realtor friend showed us many condos around the island and in Point Pleasant, but we fell in love with our “Luna Bella”. We have many honeymooners staying with us and we gladly offer a 5% discount to returning guests. Just let us know which days you’d like to stay and we’ll be happy to reserve them for you. Thank you so much for letting us know how much you liked it – it brings back such wonderful memories for us (and anticipate the many more wonderful times to we know we’ll have there). We look forward to hearing from you again!Warm Regards,Sue & Nick

Dear Sue, My daughter and I returned recently from our vacation in the USVI. I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at Luna Bella. It was very comfortable and the view was spectacular. We enjoyed the tropical breeze and the full moon. Cooking with a view like that is not a chore. When it came time to leave, we didn't want to. We love the atmosphere of the island and Luna Bella was the perfect place to stay. I plan to be in contact with you again for a future stay. Thank you! Janice & Jessica

Initial description accurate and says it all. You are at the top of a steep resort site with a short walk up and down from the parking. Power outages (affecting water supply) occurred 3 times. Stone access stairs to other levels were steep, uneven and unrailed. Use the shuttle if you care to wait. Continuous winds and wooden bedroom window shutters made for noisy nights. Late evening musical entertainment from adjacent resort site was unavoidable. Pools were great. Beach was not. Unit needs updated decor, especially in small bathroom. Requested change of towels was expensive and not received when requested. Overall impression of resort was casual maintenance, although worn building entrance railings were being replaced. Location convenient to nearby Red Hook shops, restaurants, and ferries if you have a vehicle. Especially liked Blue Moon Cafe at Secret Harbor Resort.
Owner response:Luna Bella is at the top of the mountain in a beautiful eco-resort. The Tradewinds provide fantastic breezes, enabling you to sleep with the windows and doors open at night. Walking the rustic trails through the 15 acre nature preserve and encountering hummingbirds, and unusual fauna & flora is all part of its charm. But if you prefer not to, and you don't care to wait for the complimentary shuttle, you can always take your car instead. This is the Caribbean, power outages are a fact of life and everything happens on "Island Time". If you want instant service at the snap of your fingers, then stay at the Ritz. If you want a unique experience, with unparalled views in a lush tropical setting, then you'll love Luna Bella.

PAT AND I JUST CAME BACK FROM STAYING AT YOUR PLACE IN ST. THOMAS. WHEN WE WALKED INTO YOUR PLACE AND SAW THE VIEW WE WENT WOW. THE VIEW OUT THE BACK IS AMAZING. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST PLACES WE EVER STAYED AT. WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY THAT WAS A LITTLE HARD WAS GETTING AROUND THE RESORT WAS QUITE HILLY. SOMEONE WITH NOT GOOD LEGS OR HANDICAP WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME. BUT LET ME SAY YOUR PLACE WAS VERY CLEAN AND QUITE COMFORTABLE AND WE FELT RIGHT AT HOME. PAT AND JOHNNY MAC

We just returned from a lovely week in St. Thomas and a wonderful stay at Luna Bella. The property is amazing and the view is unbelievable. Unit D17 at Pleasant Point was great. The accommodations are comfortable and functional. The lovliest feature was the full length view of the sea from your bed in the AM. With the open wall feature it was a magnificent perk. The large balcony was wonderful. Yes, I would return here. Jay

Sue and Nick, just wanted to tell you what a fantastic time we had staying a Luna Bella in late August. As advertised the views from the condo were fantastic! We loved sugar beach and both of the restuarants at Point Pleasant were great. We took the ferry over to St. John and rented a skiff at a very reasonable rate. We spent the day cruising around the island, stopping off at every secluded beach that we found. Your place is fantastic and we hope to come back real soon! Thank you!!!

Dear Sue and Nick, Staying at Luna Bella, D17 for me, was wonderful. After talking to you on the phone, I knew you were nice, honest people and that's why I stayed for the month of July. I've always loved St. Thomas, stayed at Point Pleasant in the past, so I knew it would be great staying at the top. Your condo is perfect. The view is one that lives Jost, Tortolla, and St. John - like they are right across the street. But it's Pillsbury Sound... the beautiful water of the islands. The hotel personal were wonderful and exact with any needs I had. Kathleen, the housekeeper, felt like a mom. I've been going to St. Thomas for eight years, and your condo offered the best in privacy, beauty and comfort. Thank you. I will cherish the memories, Karen

Point Pleasant is a lushly landscaped eco-resort, situated on the side of a mountain, with incredibly beautiful views of St John and the BVI's. The accomodations are studios, 1 & 2 bedroom condos, all with full kitchens. The hilltop condos have the nicest rooms and most beautiful views (we stayed in D17), but you will have to walk up and down the nature trails or take the shuttle to get to the beach. There are 2 great restaurants on the property. Fungi's, a funky beach bar, serves native island food, great burgers and fantastic drinks. At the Agave Terrace you can dine on gourmet food while watching the moon rise over St John. It's a short walk to Coki Beach and Coral World where you can snorkel and feed the fish right off the beach. The locals sell great food and drinks, dog biscuits to feed the fish, and they also rent dive/snorkling gear. Ferries to St John, Tortola, and Virgin Gorda are in Red Hook (just a 5 minute car ride). While in Red Hook, don't forget to pick up some groceries at the Marina Market. We rented a car for $30 day from Budget at the Airport - taxis can get expensive. Point Pleasant was perfect for us, but people who expect pampering should go to the Ritz. We love Point Pleasant and are staying there again over Labor Day.
