Charming, rustic chalet in a great little village off the beaten path in Lauterbrunnen area. Home was clean and neat (just as the pictures suggested) and had everything that we needed for our family of 7...including a welcoming treat of freshly made strawberry/rhubarb jam! Great views, quiet place, nice folk. Will go back someday! Main road up is the best (and freshly paved), but for an adventuresome drive try to get there from the Lauterbrunnen side. We were driving a VW 8 passenger van and it just barely fit down the road to the actual house. If you're faint of heart in driving suggest you park at the parking lot 150m away and then walk to the house if you have more than a sedan.

Me, my husband and our 2 year old twins stayed in the Isenfluh apartment for 10 days in May, we really enjoyed the area and in apartment we found everything we needed to feel comfortable. Owners and their son Urs made everything so easy for us - every query was answered straight away and we felt that every single detail matters to them. Apartment itself is spacious, very well designed and views from the apartment and from the village are fantastic. Access road is a bit steep, but we got used to it after couple of days Overall - perfect home away from home Looking forward to coming back one day

If you want the true Swiss mountain village experience, then Chalet Daheim is the place! The house is a typical quaint Swiss chalet, fully equipped with everything you would ever need. We stayed for a week and felt very much at home, not just in the house but also in the village of Isenfluh itself. The local villagers were all extremely friendly and helpful and we just fell in love with the whole place! There’s plenty of room, both our children loved having their own bedroom. We even had some friends come and stay with us on the Saturday night (the house sleeps 8). You must take the little cable car up to Sulwald as the view is quite breathtaking, we enjoyed a lovely day up there. There’s also so much to do in the Lauterbrunnen Valley and Interlaken, such as the Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, Trummelbach Falle, Grindelwald, Murren, Wengen, Harderkulm, the list just goes on. Chalet Daheim and Isenfluh are the perfect base from which to explore it all. Urs was very helpful and provided us with a wealth of information about the Lauterbrunnen Valley, whilst also making the booking process very easy. His parents also made us feel very welcome (they live next door) and even made us some beautiful homemade strawberry and rhubarb jam! Thank you for a wonderful Swiss experience. We highly recommend staying at Chalet Daheim! Wayne, Lisa, Patrick & Caitlin Durran, Barwon Heads, Australia

Thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your Chalet. It was very homy and also very quiet environment. The scenery was also very beautiful. Our boys and ourself will always remember this place. I am sure if we come back to Switzerland we will make sure that we will come back to Isenfluh for a week again. We will never forget the narrow road coming up, but after a week we got used to it :-) Maya from Ontario, Canada

I stayed here for 7 nights with my wife and 2 children in August 2011. The chalet is located in the small, beautifully located village of Isenfluh which is approximately 15 minutes drive from Lauterbrunnen. Due to it's location, a car is essential. Saying that, you can take numerous walks from the front door including to Murren (2 1/2 hours and from where you can take the cable car up to the top of the Schiltorn) and Lauterbrunnen (50 minutes downhill). There's also the cable car station to Sulwald which is literally just a hundred yards from the chalet. The chalet itself was perfectly kitted out for our stay (oven, hobs, dishwasher, fridge, cooking utensils, satellite TV etc) and was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. The owners are very hospitable without being over baring and the booking procedure (through their son - Urs) was very simple and straight forward. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Isenfluh and the wider Lauterbrunnen valley. The chalet is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area and offers incredible value for money compared to anything else that I could find in the surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to this part of Switzerland and would have no hesitation booking through Urs Holiday Rentals or Urs again - Thank you!

We had our best ever holiday. The chalet was comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed plus WiFi which was a welcome extra for our two teenage daughters. The views from the balcony are fantastic worth coming just for the view.We felt very welcomed by the Daeppen family who are very helpful and hospitable. The village was very peaceful, beautiful and ideally situated to explore. The road to the village is narrow, a little scary but you soon get use to the drive and we managed it easily in a large saloon car. We went up mountains, went on First flight, did summer tobogganing and tried the scooters down the mountain in Isenfluh & did a bit of walking. Overall a fantastic week, would love to come back. We were so please to have chosen this chalet to hire. Switzerland is a beautiful country and the people are just as nice. We can't recommend it enough.

We had a very enjoyable stay in Chalet Daheim in the summer of 2011 with our three young children (ages 2-5).  Isenfluh village is in a great setting, stunning views, quiet in itself but only 15/20 mins drive from the main resort village and mountain railway/cable cars in Lauterbrunnen. The chalet itself is well kept and there was plenty room enough for the five of us.  The family bedroom and the living room are both large, the kitchen and second bedroom were big enough.  Highlights of our trip included taking the train up to Kleine Scheidegg for a picnic lunch looking at the Eiger, an evening meal in Murren as the sun set on the Jungfrau and taking the small red cable car up from Isenfluh itself.  Thank you to Chalet Daheim owners for being so welcoming.  We hope to return in a few years to tackle some of the proper length walks in the area that were not really possible with children who will only walk downhill!.

This place was great! The location is perfectly situated between Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken. They had everything we needed and were very friendly and helpful. I stayed here with My 5mth old, 4yr old and 15yr old and we were very comfortable and had plenty of room! The village itself is tiny and so are the roads but I do have a mid sized american car and we managed :) If you have any problems finding the Chalet the people at the restaraunt will help you out! The views are breath taking. Really it is fatastic place to stay and the price is right!

This year we had our best winter holiday in Isenfluh.I especially loved the tunnel we passed through to reach the village. I have never seen such a beauty. It is a must for everyone. We didn't know much about the region. We just wanted to spend some time with our kids in the snow. Isenfluh was a very good choice. There you can go sledging or it takes you less than half an hour to go to the train station to go up to Wengen ski station. And we did both. As we have very young kids, we preferred an appartment which enables us to cook ,to put kids asleep in another room and to have some time on our own.Our appartment was very convenient especially when with young kids .It was a duplex with 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Our bedroom was spacious. It was so big that we even hesitated to put kids in the other room. There was an extra bed and even a baby cot for our daugther! And it was nicely prepared for her by the landlady. The owners were both very kind people. Eventhough we couldn't speak German , we could somehow communicate with them during the breakfast that they prepared for us. We all enjoyed so much doing the sledge in Isenfluh. Our chalet was very well located. It was only 10m from the lift.It was the first time for our kids to go up in the cable car so they kept on screaming until we reached the top. There was a breathtaking view from the top and a very well situated café!I It felt great to have something to drink there. After about a 150m walk we reached the slope. It takes almost half an hour to go back to the beginning point by sledge. It was amazing! I did that twice and would love to do it more!

I´ve been to Chalet Daheim a couple of times, and i have to say, this is one of the couziest places I have ever visited. The house is so charming, full of all the details you expect to find in the Swiss mountains. The owners are adorable and helpfull, and served us the best home-cooked meals. But the chalet offers a full kitchen, and plus, there is a cute little restaurant a few steps from the house. There is also this cable car that take us up in the mountain, for a great session of sledging in the winter time, or just plain hikking on summer days. The bedrooms are spacious and warm, and there is something about the views that makes you want to open the shutters early in the morning, to fully enjoy the sun light and the mountain breeze. I highly recommend the visit if you are looking for a quiet, welcoming and relaxing time.

Owner response: Well yes, my parents can be very charming and sometimes offer breakfast and/or dinner for travelllers, to make their stay a real swiss experiance :-)

I am first Russian have spent my vocation in that place I guess. I was concentrate on exploring the mountain. What I really needed was several cups of strong cafe at 6:30 , and I had always had them in time I’d like to. The bus was accurate, in 15 min. I was in funicular. I return absolutely exhausted, taking shower went for dinner (with local wine 3 times per 10 days). In fact, I don’t quite remember what I ate, but I have no problem with stomach. I slept well cause I was tired and the place was very quite. Recommend for people who are mad about alpine ski. Nightlife absents there. What men can do - to have lots of sex with girlfriend / wife. But be careful - after 9 month I’ve got a daughter.. Ha,ha... I loved her much, thanks to Isenfluh.
