Pristine Waters is a self-catering woodland, riverfront get-away-from-it-all Lodge. Located in Hopewell Township (Bedford County, Pennsylvania), the Pristine Waters Lodge is located only 100 feet from the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. Please note, a 2nd getaway, Woodland Waters (about 100 yards from Pristine Waters & also Waterfront) is now available for bookings in 2008.

Perfect for couples and small families who desire to escape hectic, frantic lifestyles. Well-suited for those who love nature and all that it has to offer. Wonderful for families as well as romantics, our retreat is accessed by a private, one-mile, one-lane rugged (but well-maintained) road. Secluded and peaceful. Please note: no land-line or internet connection. Very spotty cell phone coverage from limited vantage points.

What might you experience during your stay?

Bird-watch for cardinals, orioles, osprey, red-tailed hawks, bald eagles and others. Enjoy the natural sounds of night owls, woodpeckers and maybe the elusive whippoorwill. Canoe 60+ miles of open river. Take a refreshing dip in crystal clear waters. Hike, bike and rock-climb on some of the many woodland trails (some yet to be discovered by you!).

Listen to the river's soft gurgling while sitting on the deck watching the fish stir. In the evening, hear the peepers while sipping a glass of wine on the deck. Gaze at stars while lounging in the hot tub with deck candles flickering. The next morning, have coffee with the sun streaming on your face and the birds chirping about. Plan a gourmet dinner. The woodland aromas will warm your nostrils and savory spices from the herb garden flavor your grilled vegetables. Relax in any of the comfy reading spots--we have many great books to choose from!

  • Mountain View: Kimber Mountain rises on the other side of the river and is home to birds, wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

• Suitability
  • Pet Friendly: Dogs may be allowed. Nonrefundable damage deposit - $100 per dog. Limit 2 dogs. Proper clean-up after pets required.
  • Kid Friendly: Beautiful atmosphere for children. As in all situations, children's safety must be a priority with the river, bugs, poison ivy, outdoor fire, steps, etc.
  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters: All contract signers must be 25 years or older. Limit 6 adults.
  • Smoking Not Allowed: Smoking outside permissable with proper clean-up.
