The cabin was private yet very close to everything we wanted. We went to Ashville, Cherokee, Sliding Rock, drove BRP, and went tubbing among other things. Very clean and well equiped for a party of 12. Beds where very comfortable and plenty of places to get away if you didn't want to socialize. Yes, you will have mountain views, not a lot but there are two spots off the porch you can sit and enjoy. We where out every morning and evening just enjoying the view and fresh air. The ride up to cabin was the easiest I have ever encountered and we have been vacationing in the mountains for about 12 years. My brother-in-law had his motorcycle trailer behind his truck and encoutered no issues. He was able to ride the bike down from the house as well with no issues. That was a plus. We only found two negitives - The loft was warm and there where no fans so we doubled up in the other rooms with air beds that we brought with us. Weekday mornings (M-Th) there is a awful noise, we thought it must be a log mill since there are some close enough. It sounded like a jet liner hubbering over us from 5 am till about 3 pm. The weekends were very peaceful you could not hear anything. Overall we all had a very nice time and would recomend this cabin as a great place to gather or get away from it all.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We absolutely loved this house! We were hesitant at first because of the previous negative review. But the house had everything we were looking for and was at a great price! It became obvious right away that the renter who left the negative review must had either been having a bad day OR is just a nit-picky kinda person. The living room has TONS of natural lighting during the day and we found the lamps and lights to be more than aduquate at night. The game room was located in the garage, but our kids had a blast playing in there. We all enjoyed the pool table and playing darts together as a family. The house was extremely clean and we found everything we needed to enjoy our stay. While the kitchen is not stocked with gourmet cooking utensils, there is more than enough there for anyone who knows how to cook. The large dining room table was great for gathering the whole family together. This is a great house for a large family. Plenty of space for everyone. The location is great. Private, yet convient to I-40 and the other small moutain towns. The views from the front deck where my favorite. You couldn't ask for a better view to go with your morning coffee! We will definitely be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

First, the description on the website is inaccurate - the only "view" you will see of the mountains is if you stand on the deck and look through a gap in the trees. We read the description..."Enjoy long range mountain veiws from almost every room" and made our selection based upon that assurance. Wrong! If you want privacy, this place is for you, as it is completely surrounded by trees and a steep bank. Second, the entire house is extremely dark - the living room is so poorly lit we couldn't play cards/games in the evenings. Third, the "game room" is just the garage. The kitchen is quite small and equipped with only the very cheapest cooking items - bring your own knives - and no serving bowls - doesn't support family-style meals. Fourth, the downstairs is musty and dank. Fifth, the only internet access is through a cable connection in the upstairs loft - no wireless. Lastly - and very important - there is a weird step configuration in the kitchen-to-living room hall and because of the dark interior it is a safety issue - two times during our stay people fell on this awkward step. For the money, this is not the place for a family gathering - very disappointing after several previous stays in other rental homes in the area.Did you find this review helpful? Very nice house. It had all the convenience of home. Very spacious. The kids loved to have the loft all to themselves and my mom loved to have all the convenience on the same floor. Eventhough we went in between seasons, we found plenty to do to entertain the kids and adults. It was the perfect place to have an egg hunt. The kids loved it. We all had a great time. Thanks for letting us use your hourse.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
