We arrived at destination at night, so first holiday impressions were of the apartment, and all I can say is what a great beginning to our holiday! The apartment was huge and airy - really spacious and attractive, Most importantly it was spotlessly clean. Vlado and Josepa made us feel immediately welcome when they greeted us, and were really helpful, giving us some good information and pointers for our holiday. The view from the balcony of the nearby beach and indigo sea the next morning was just beautiful! The beach itself was just a few minutes stroll away, walking along the quiet twisty lanes between the pretty houses and their gardens (the whole area is really peaceful and restful). The beach - a white pebble one - was great, not at all hectic, with plenty of sunbeds available, and there's several restaurants in the immediate vicinity that serve food all day too, their menus providing plenty of choice. There was also a good supermarket beside the beach too. At night we stayed in Ciovo either enjoying one of the friendly local restaurants or else cooking ourselves at the apartment, for which the kitchen is ideal (as it's really kitted out just like the one at home) and eating at the large dining table or al fresco on the large balcony The apartment really proved a comfortable home for our party of six for the ten days we were there, as it contained everything we could possibly need. The other thing that made this holiday to Croatia so enjoyable was the the town of Trogir next door. We were unaware before we arrived that we would be neighbouring a World Heritage Site! Trogir is really very beautiful, absolutely stunning! It's only a short taxi ride/ few euro away from the apartment. After wandering around the old town there we'd sit out and watch the beautiful people disembark their yachts in the harbour! We went into Trogir every second night (there's many bars and restaurants) though we'd heartily recommend that you make at least one trip to see it during daylight. The combination of the apartment and the area of Ciovo and Trogir made for a brilliant holdiay, we really felt so lucky. Becasuse we were there for ten days we thought it would be a waste not to explore a little and travelled to the islands of Hvar and Brac - making a fantastic two day trip of it. We have, without doubt, fallen for this particular part of Croatia - and look forward to returning to the same spot and apartment again as it was just idea for us - Fay Family

Manager response: We are extremely happy with this review. The Fay's really did enjoy their time on Ciovo and we feel this sums up the whole experience of a break at the penthouses. We would certainly agree with the day or overnight stay to Hvar or Brac - the ferry's connect regularly from Split. Another great thing to do is one of the boat trips around the islands - these depart on Ciovo - make sure to shop around and find out what is included in the price - some of the bigger boats can be quite packed so consider a smaller more intimate boat.

Our party of six arrived on Ciovo after an exhausting and confused series of flights from the U.S. We had received a terrific packet of information from Alison before we left home. The directions to our penthouse were clear and appreciated. Vladimir greeted us and took us to #19 and gave us a great orientation tour. We found our apartment to be extremely clean and well equipped. During our stay, Vladimir went above and beyond in being the perfect host. The view from the balcony is spectacular at any time of day. We especially enjoyed breakfasts and sunsets there. The apartment is beautifully located within easy walking of the village, the beach, and several very good restaurants. We took advantage of the water taxi to Trogir and enjoyed outings there as well. The old town offers great history and great food! The outdoor market is a marvel! Day trips to Split and to the amazing waterfalls of Krka National Park were fun for all of us. We were fortunate to be able to hire a boat and to hire Vladimir as our captain for a day-long island tour. We took our own picnic of food purchased at a food store in the village; and we were able to swim in a beautiful secluded inlet after lunch. We spent our last day enjoying the Dalmatian sunshine on the beach near the harbor. The people were very, very nice; the weather was great; and our penthouse was the perfect home base for our week in Croatia.

Amazing Luxury Apartment!
Amazing Luxury Apartment!
Our group of six adults arrived at our wonderful apartment having followed excellent driving directions from the Split Airport. We were greeted immediately by Vladimir, who showed us to our apartment, and took the time to go out and purchase an electrical adapter to replace one we'd lost in a bag on our way to Croatia from the US. He did not need to go out and purchase the adapter, but insisted upon going out and finding a new one for us. We had the most wonderful and relaxing week. The apartment provided privacy for each of us, and was a fantastic place to come back to each night. It was extremely clean, and much care has gone into keeping it nice. We especially enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the balcony which overlooked the harbor. It was truly gorgeous at all times of the day. The apartment was incredibly quiet which was also appreciated. At night there was very nearly complete silence which made our stay restful and peaceful. The apartment is a short walk from many delicious restaurants, bars, and a great beach. It is also a short drive, or 4km walk from the island of Trogir which we spent many hours exploring. The open air market is lovely and has some of the best fresh produce we've ever eaten. We couldn't have asked for a nicer owner, or caretaker of the place, as Allison and Vladimir were willing to answer any questions we had, and help with anything we needed. The only problem we had with our vacation? We had to leave at the end of the week and head back to reality. Thank you for providing us with such a beautiful place to stay.

As first-time visitors to Croatia we were totally captivated by what we saw and experienced. We spent a week in this lovely apartment and it made a fantastic base for our exploration of this area of Croatia. We were a party of five adults arriving in June and found the apartment very spacious, clean and well-equipped. We made full use of the air-conditioning as it was very hot! We didn't hire a car but managed really well by using a local taxi driver to take us back and forth to Trogir, and then used local transport. We were disappointed that the water taxis weren't actually operating yet (when we asked we were told 'maybe tomorrow'), but people were so friendly and, in fact, we hired our own boats some days! The weather was perfect, the scenery stunning, the food and local restaurants were plentiful and offered a lot of choice. A walking tour of Trogir is to be recommended as was a trip to the National Park and the wonderful waterfalls. Stunning! We all had a really good time and would all like to return. Good things? Local people, weather, scenery, crystal clear sea. Any criticisms? None really. Just be aware you need to be fairly fit to take your suitcases up the flights of stairs (but you only have to do this once!), and it would have been nice to have some fans in the bedrooms, but these are small things and didn't spoil our visit. It is a beautiful apartment, well maintained and spacious. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Hi all.. The holiday in Trogir (Ciovo) was absolutly perfect. I have to say that Trogir is the most powerful place in whole Croatia. We had nice weather too, over 34Celsius every day ( from 7.-14. August). It is about 3 minutes to sea from the apartmant... 1minute to the nearest market. For people who are interested in sightseeing, you can travel by water taxi (15kuna/person) to Trogir or take local bus (10kuna). We were in Trogir for 3 times. It is the jewel of Croatia. There are gorgeous monuments, romantic restaurants, fantastic shops and so on. This place is good for all generations. We were party of 8 young people (20-25 years) and we had realy good time. Our apartment was fantastic. Same like in pictures.I know that I will come back in future with my friends (maybe next year). All were new and clean."Thumb up"! =) Comunication with housekeeper was good because she is young women with skilled english, so there were not any languages problems. Thank you for brilliant holiday. Mark

Thanks Alison for our first introduction to Croatia, the apartment is very spacious we were a party of five, it was nice and clean and has everything we needed, a bit of a climb up the stairs so not so good for the elderly or unfit, the sea is lovely and about a ten minute stroll away, there are about four restaurants within ten minutes walk, two bars in the village an uphill walk and several bars along the beach, beware going in September as all the local bars close about 11pm due to lack of trade, fine for us but not so good if you want to party all night, more life in Trogir but again the water taxi finishes at 10pm and a taxi was a bit pricey at £25 for about 4miles, we liked the absence of sports bars, fish and chips and the British Pub that has spoiled most destinations in Europe and we will be returning to Croatia.

Manager response: A taxi should cost approx £12 or 100 Kuna from Trogir. There are a number of steps to climb to reach the apartment, it's situated on the third floor. We are more than sure it's worth it for the view :) The majority of buildings in Croatia do not have a lift as the buildings thankfully do not tend to be higher than three floors. Even the local hotels don't have one.
This was a large, airy and well equipped apartment just a few minutes stroll from a fairly quiet gravel beach. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we were welcomed warmly on arrival. We had a wonderful week.here, We ate out each evening - there was a good choice of local restaurants but on four nights we took the water taxi to Trogir. Trogir was lovely - a maze of tiny streets filled with cafes and restaurants and great ice cream shops! I highly recommend booking a sea kayaking trip with Falco tours based in Trogir (find them on the inteernet or ask at Tourist office). We had a full day trip kayaking 7 km to a nearby island and back. The kayaks and other equipment were very good, our guides were highly experienced and all necessary safety equipment was provided. I would recommend this apartment if you want a peaceful holiday in a pleasant resort surrounded by other similar-minded holidaymakers. Although there were plenty of lively bars (if you wanted them) there was no evidence of drunkeness or bad behaviour. This is a great choice if you do not want to hire a car as it is only a 20 minute taxi ride from Split airport and the water taxi to Trogir runs every 30 minutes and is cheap. The apartment is on the top floor and there is no lift - no problem for us but bear in mind if elderley or if you have very young children.
