The apartment is located in a small privately owned chalet at the foot of the mountainside. Accommodation is spacious, comprising a large open plan living area, fully fitted kitchen, comfortable dining area, shower room and WC on the ground floor, with 2 bedrooms (1 en-suite double; 1 twin) and bathroom upstairs. A 3 seater sofa bed away from the main sitting area provides a further double bed.
The apartment exudes charm, benefiting from a working log fire and a wonderful collection of mountain art and furniture as well as Cable TV, DVD Player and WiFi.
The apartment benefits from superb easterly views of the Zermatt valley, including the Mischabel Peaks of Dom (4,545m) and Taschorn (4490m). The location is special for Zermatt in being so quiet and yet a mere 2 minute walk from the town centre; affording easy access to all lifts (especially the Gornergrat mountain railway), shopping and Zermatt’s many bars, famous restaurants and other attractions.
The Skiing: Zermatt’s symbol is the Matterhorn, the most dramatic and picturesque mountain of the Alps, it is best seen in real life; a photograph simply doesn’t do it justice.
One of Europe’s largest ski areas, 350km of piste extending into Italy (Cervinia), with a vertical drop of 2,300m. The Swiss side comprises 3 interconnected areas: Klein Matterrhorn, Gornergrat and Rothorn. The descent from Klein Matterhorn to Zermatt is 13km, representing one of the longest piste runs in Europe.
The higher altitude extends the season through to end of April and the high glaciers guarantee snow in a sparse year. Klein is the highest cable car in the Alps, augmented by eight or more 3,000 metre top lifts. Many resorts struggle to find one!
Summer Breaks: For many the summer provides the best opportunity to soak up this mountain world. The wild flowers need to be seen to be believed and the hikes into the mountain pastures are an exhilarating challenge with simple high mountain hotels and huts that are never seen in the winter. Overnight stays in these are relatively cheap and sunrise/sunset at altitude is an experience not to be missed.
There is golf at Täsch and the upper Rhone Valley is ideal for exploring by car, with vineyards, history and sightseeing. But the real joy is in the mountains in the sunshine under the awe inspiring presence of one of the finest peaks in the world – the Matterhorn.

In the winter season we will endeavour to accommodate shorter rentals or non Saturday to Saturday rentals, especially if at short notice during a period where the apartment would otherwise be vacant.

Two minutes walk: main train station, Gornergrat ski train station, tourist office, Co-Op supermarket, Bayard sports rental, pharmacies, bakery, banks, main square, high street, main bus stop - Bahnhofplatz (regular buses to Sunnegga funicular, 3 min. journey, and Klein Matterhorn lift, 5 min.)
A five minute walk: butcher, Migros supermarket, museum, church square.
