This is a gorgeous home with views of the mountains with a tranquil waterfront setting. The property has a level lot for easy access to the dock and the water or just a game of bocchi, great for children in a no wake zone. you can enjoy the views from the large deck or have a relaxing afternoon on the partially covered dock.
This home is just a few hundred yards from the newly built yacht marina so bring your boat or jet ski & Enjoy all that the lake has to offer. There is also two restaurants (one with a pub) nearby. The home is located just minutes from Smith Mountain lake State Park, boat rentals, jet ski rentals, golf and much more.

My family and I had the opportunity to stay the weekend is this house. It was located in an area where my husband spent many summers visiting as a child. The house was large enough to accomodate 2 families and even came with a piano ;). The only thing we found unpleasant was the stained beds but when others rent someone else's property they don't have the same respect so I don't hold that against the owners. My family will definitely be going back in the future for a visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Two of beds were replaced two years back, unfortunately renters don't always take care of a rental as they would their own home. All bedding will be replaced and or cleaned as necessary before the start of this season, we take great pride in having a clean home for our guests. we are also making sure that the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots, pans and all utensils. We will also be doing additional work to the home for this summer season so come and enjoy.

The house and location were ideal for our families. The dock worked well for our boat and the marina was just around the corner for launching. With a few minor adjustments, we would consider returning to this house. First issue: about half the lights were not working (perhaps they needed new light bulbs), second, the pots and pans were sparse and the 2 fry pans (for eggs and/or bacon) were completely unusable. For a house that is supposed to accomodate 8 people, there was not enough glasses or dishes. The beds had very thin blanket/quilts on them. I was very glad we brought sleeing bags so that I could open them up and use them as quilts. Other issues: grill on its last legs (my husband had to prop up the grate with tin foil), the blinds were missing strings, perhaps the lights should be labeled, the was no power at the dock, the garage door opener did not work, chair was broken in the family room, door handles did not work, etc. Finaly, we were never able to find the "binder" with extra keys and information about the house and area. Again, the house was in a great location, and the layout accomodated 2 families easily (also gave the teenagers a place to hang out on their own). So...with that said, with some minor repairs and attention, this house would be great!Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.
