When I started my search for a Pocono rental property I made a checklist. Three to four bedrooms, air conditioning, hot tub, fishing, boating, swimming and close to a casino. After viewing many listings this one appeared to be perfect and it was. It accommodated our whole family, 3 children, their spouses and two grandsons. It offered everything on my checklist plus more. We all had a great time fishing on the lake. I caught the biggest fish, think it was a rock bass. My grandsons loved the peddle boat. I bought them walkie talkies so when they went out on the lake they could stay in touch with us. They thought it was great that they could "Man their own ship." The house was very nicely decorated and cozy. The furniture was very comfortable and the kitchen had more than enough dishes, utensils, pots and pans etc. The house is located less than 10 minutes from the grocery stores, Walmart, KMart and the Mt. Airy Casino. I think my son would say he really liked the casino best. The first night he went he won $20,000. NOW THAT MAKES FOR A REALLY NICE VACATION !!! We also visited Barley Creek Brewery. They take you on a tour and let you sample different beers. It's also a restaurant with really great food. If you go you have to try the beer cheese soup, we all went crazy over it. Our one let down was going to the Amber Steak House for lunch. We chose it becasue my daughter's name is Amber. Big Mistake! Food was cheap but not good and the place smelled like trash. Oh well, you can't win them all. Over all our vacation was perfect. Karen the owner was great to deal with. She answered all my questions in a flash and the rental transaction went very smooth. "Due to family reasons, we didn't have a vacation in 3 years. We now thank God we found Karen and Paul's house. Talk about a serene setting !! We fished, boated, had a cold one on the deck and just back to appreciating each other as a family. Either after a day of intense outdoor activity or simply shopping at the Tannersville Outlets, the hot tub was amazing. We enjoyed sitting by the lake every morning/evening. We not only want to come back next year (and pull more bass from the lake), but we will recommend their house to friends and relative looking for a unique relaxing time. It went by too fast !!

We spent the most relaxing week at Karen and Paul's and are looking forward to staying with them again. From the soft, comfy sofas to the sauna to the rear deck with hot tub overlooking the lake, it's hard not to find a way to relax. The home was immaculate, the decor soothing, everything in working order, and the fish in the lake were more than hungry. Needless to say we made extensive use of the boats, which were both in perfect condition, and did quite a bit of fishing. The listing does not lie when it says a good time will be had by all. My 19 year old daughter could not get enough fishing in, even despite some inclement weather. After experiencing the verocity of several chain pickerel, she began to refer to them as barracuda. We also brought our bikes and enjoyed riding around the lake and surounding neighborhood and also took them to nearby Tobyhanna Park and rode the trails there. One of the nice things about the rental is that it feels like a home, not a rental property that was just thrown together. Karen and Paul were a pleasure to work with, and very accommodating. We look forward to coming back, perhaps in the winter for some ice fishing and skating.

We spent a week at Karen and Paul's and we have to say it was the best vacation ever. Kitchen is fully loaded and the house the house made us feel right at home. It was just so relaxing sitting by Lake. Thanks so much and we will be back next year.

We spent the weekend at Karen & Paul's home and had a wonderful time. This is NO ordinary vacation rental where you may find one king sized bed and perhaps a pot or two in the kitchen. There are three king sized beds and a kitchen stocked beyond belief. Their home is inviting and relaxing. We didn't want to leave and are already planning our next trip back.

We had guests for the holidays who wanted to have a white Christmas so we headed to Karen & Paul's place which I found on this site. The place was wonderful. We found it very clean with a fully equipped kitchen for our holiday dinner. They had even decorated for the season which included a trimmed tree. Our stockings looked right at home on the fireplace. The view of the lake was fantastic, especially when the snow flakes flew on Christmas day. Everything was great with stores and activities close by. This is not just a rental house, it is a comfortable home away from home. Thanks so much!

John and Rita, On behalf of our entire group (April, Denise, Tammy, Tammi and myself), I wanted to say, Thank You..... Thank You....Thank You. Our entire weekend getaway was better than we could have hoped. The evenings of rain didn't even dampen our spirits. To your credit, the house and property are wonderfully maintained, and we're sure to be back again soon. Also, the quiet, Lakefront neighborhood is in a word... Beautiful. A group of us went for early morning walks around the lake, and we saw several hawks and deer, which added to the Autumn setting. See you soon!

Dear Rita & John, Love the house and everything that comes with it! We used the boat everyday and caught many fish. The girls had a blast. Sam the Golden Retriever, was scared to go in the water. It seemed like he was going to jump in but then nothing. All in all, we did alot of much needed R&R. Spent some time at K Mart and WalMart. May hit te outlets on the way home. We hope to be back

Dear Folks: First of all: The Weather was Perfect! PERFECT! Linda saw a black bear on 940 East. The Bear seemed to be crossing the road- it looked both ways before crossing. We took a trip to the Marshalls Creek Flea Market(FUN)! We cooked meals both on the grill outside and inside the kitchen--Chicken cacciatore, shrimp, Delicious! We drove down to "Callie's Pretzel Factory" in Cresco- we bought various varieties of pretzels, popcorn etc.. Oh Yea! Home Tomatoe Gravy from Scratch. I Forgot to add that above. Everyday the Lake was Clean, Beautiful,.... all of the adjectives that could possibly describe this "Still Water Lakes Home".

Rita & John, We had a wonderful time at your lovely house this week. The fishing was great- lots of Large Perch and Bass! We even had fun looking for crayfish. The girls enjoyed rowing around the lake and swimming to "The Island." Of course, everyone enjoyed the Hot Tub- especially when the night finally cooled down enough. All in All a Great Week! Thanks!

Our stay included the week of 7/24-7/31. Alexa and Nicholas (who are now 15 months & 11 months respectfully), had a bal with the geese, the lake and the Pool. We will all have wonderful memories of the "Two Cousins" first family vacation! Our Grandma & Grandpa visitors loved the fishing, the boating, and the Hot Tub and Sauna! (Besides of course hanging with the grand kids!) Jeneane, Kevin,Tom and myself enjoyed our quiet night on the lake. We Hot Tubbed and played games until morning. One night we even built a camp fire! This vacation has been very relaxing and we plan on re visiting! We had a wonderful vacation! P.S.- Duke loved the lake! He swam and played every day!! I think he will sleep for a week!

The Miller Family returns.........For another outstanding week. Great R&R with plenty of fishing,swimming, & a little touring. Biggles, the Golden Retriever, found he could swim up to the island and stand up! Every morning we went for our morning swim. The only thing to dampen the week (other than some rain), was the bombing in London. Being a British family who lived near London, we still have friends and family there and still waiting to hear...... Time to leave this ideal spot & head home. Thank you for a wonderful time.

We had an international meeting here this week. Rep. from the US, Bolivia, Finland, Belarus, and Russia. The weather was great for most of the week, so we made good use of the lake, Hot Tub, and Sauna! The fish were biting, but none big enough to keep. Two year old Alexi and 3 year old Isabella, had the time of their lives, experiencing all kinds of new things. Toward the end of our stay it cooled off and rained, but by then we were pretty exhausted and sunburned, so it was actually a relief to have a day to rest and explore the Poconos a bit. The last morning there was beautiful sunshine and mist rising from the lake. We realy enoyed your well-equipped house, and we hope to come back again sometime!

Rita and John, We really enjoyed our long weekend. We had a great time. Steele had the kids to play with. Grandpa came over and he and Steele went fishing. They did not catch anything but made friends with a couple of geese which came over each morning and night for breakfast and dinner. We went to Wal Mart and bought fishing gear and went back out on the Lake again and caught 4 fish. 14",9",7"& 5". We have pictures to prove it! We are not sure what kind they were, but it was fun. Steele had the upstairs and we had the downstairs. We saw plenty of deer. We even walked all the way around the lake. the weather was great! 70 in the afternoon, and Sunny the whole weekend!

Rita and John, We had a great time and loved your house. It was very comfortable. the jacuzzi was heaven and the lake made the most Bizarre noises which gave Ry a scare until he realized what it was. We went horseback riding which Jenn fell off so we spent Friday in Stroudsburg ER. She just suffered a severe bruise but thankfully she's OK now. We went wine tasting,(that was fun), we really had a great time just hanging in and relaxing. We will definitely be back next year this time, maybe in the summer. We had a GREAT Christmas here in Pennsylvania! We LOVED the Hot Tub and Sauna! The lake was beautiful even though it was frozen. We saw two little cute bunnies and we fed them some carrots. One was black and the other bunny was tan. We also came across two female deer and about twenty Wild Turkeys! Our family loved going outside for a walk, and then coming inside to the nice, cozy fire! Your house is so beautiful and we hope to come again! Thank You!

Thank you so much for a lovely weekend in your lake house! We are friends who have known and loved each other for years, and our bonds were strengthened even more during this weekend getaway. John and Rita, Thank you for such an incredible weekend. Although chilly the weather was beautiful and sunny. The view in the morning with the sun shining off the lake was a wonderful sight while drinking our morning coffee. This was a much needed escape from the hectic lifestyle and traffic of DC. Rita and John, Thank you so much for another wonderful year. We went to the Crossings, Bushkill Falls was breathtaking. We also horseback rode at Pocono Adventure Stables and biked through Tobyhanna State Park. We visited East Stroudsburg and found "Siamsa" an Irish Pub on Main Street. We had a wonderful vacation at your lovely lakehouse. This was special to us since it marked our first family vacation since our son was born a year ago. The weather was pretty good and the lakeviews are "Breathtaking". Although we are not into fishing, Chris enjoyed the rowboat and I enjoyed swimming in the lake with our Lab, Mosley, (Justice, an Akita mix wouldn't get his paws wet). With all the amenities this house has too offer, we feel we got a great value. Thanks for everything and we hope to come again in the near future.

We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderfully warm and homey house for the first time during the end of July 2004. The house was clean and cozy. The fishing was the best the guys ever experienced in our many trips to the poconos. My husband caught a Bass the first day the size of his arm. The hot tub and sauna were "icing on the cake". For us girls the shopping was wonderful at the Outlets which were just a drive away.
