Why the Owner Chose North Captiva Island
We love the quiet, fishing, kayaking and generally relaxing on the island. We live in Gulf Harbour on the mainland when we are not on the island.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We stay in both homes so we make sure that they are ready for you and us. Stardance has big porches with beautiful views of the Pine Island Sound. Moondance is larger and great for when our families come to the island.

We own two homes on the island Moondance and Stardance along with some friends. We are on the island as much as possible as our Real Estate office, Backwater Bay is located above Barnacle Phils.

We (family of w 4 kids ages 10 and 14) absolutely love North Captiva Island -We stayed at Stardance for 10 days in December 2010 over Christmas & New Years. We absolutely fell in love with the island AND the house. It has everything you need for a fun, easy, relaxing vacation. From the beautiful private pool and hot tub to the magnificent water views from the main living level - you actually feel like you are living up in the treetops. Every detail has been thought of (minus groceries, of course- which can be ordered in advance). The 5 bedrooms are all comfortable and clean and the kitchen is well equipt with everything (including a great coffee maker, panini press and margaritaville maker!!). 2 - electric golf carts are provided for getting around and 2 bikes (w/baskets) too. Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas are provided as well as plush beach towels for the loungers. Located on the quieter north end of the island near the airstrip...it was neat watching planes take off and land. The beach is only a few minutes walk. The island itself is so-so gorgeous with an array of outdoor and water activities. But the simplicity and beauty of this island is what makes it unique, the shelling is the "best" anywhere! I kept telling my kids "keep your eyes open- cause you never know what you will see"; we saw dolphins, pelicans, birds, turtles, lizards and more - the sunsets are amazing!.....we are returning in July (2011) for 1 wk and we can't wait!!! Fabulous house. We stayed here in 2008 also. They views are spectacular. Everything worked great. The WI-Fi was fast ( 6.0 MB download and 1.5 MB upload). The cable worked great with many premium channels. The pool was clean. EVERYTHING was taken care of. There are a lot of stairs as the house is on a barrier island and it is on pilings. the first level is 30+ or - steps and then 20 + or - more to the kitchen. You use golf carts to get around. If you have never been to North Captiva, you are in for a vacation of a lifetime. It is secluded (there are 3 restaurants on the island and somewhat limited supplies. You can only get there by boat.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
