Excellent home with good layout. Weather was in sixties so pool with a heater or a Hot Tub would have been better. Location was great with good restaurants in the area. Golfing was nearby with acceptable courses and rates. Overall good experience, but could not enjoy the beach due to weather.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

When we arrived I had concerns as to how the house was sitting and what the veiw would be. However it didnt take long to see the set up of this house couldnt be any better. Morning coffee on the first floor porch was the perfect meeting place for all to gather and decide what we may or may not do that day. (loved the wooden chairs by the way) The second floor porch which had access from both rooms upstairs served as a good get away for some to get their favorite books read. The house could not only sleep eight comfortable but had plenty of seating in the living area and most importantly the dining area. Nice large table that sat six and a bar with four comfortable stools. The pool sets it off in the evening after being at the beach all day or a day of fishing. Not only a nice veiw from the pool but no houses on either side or behind, you have good privacy. The inside of the house is nicely decorated, bright colors, roomy, good seating, clean, and plenty of good lighting on the outside of the house if needed. We had small problem with hot water heater and that situation was resolved immediately. This house exceeded all of our expectations. We didnt get lost in a moment, we were lost in the week.---------------The listing discription and photos were accurate. The owner was very helpful with questions prior to our arrival and addressing the problem with the hot water heater upon our arrival. I have already recommended this property to family and friends, and if not available to contact owner for other options. Fort Morgan is only four miles down the road, in shore or off shore guide fishing is two miles down, may not sound fun but rent a kayak, and endless attractions in town. Two musts as far as eating are Pappa Roccos Pizza ( I know pizza on every corner at home, but not pappa roccos, with live entertainment) and King Neptunes (seafood is some of the best i've tasted) that i didnt cook of course. If you forgot anything there are two stores just a few miles down that have a little bit of everything.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Beautiful Vacation Home - 2nd time vacationing here. Clean and well maintained, photos accurate. This year Gulf and pool like bath water. Fort Morgan very interesting, Alligator Alley amazing, the kids love shopping in town..we only ate out once at Lu Lu's (really fun) because we would just drive down the road and pick up fresh seafood and party at the pool. I just wish there were a better way to get there..we drive from Michigan.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

One word to sum up this vacation house and location. PERFECT. I took my family last May 2010 and had a wonderful family vacation. I grew up vacationing at Fort Morgan and told my wife how beautiful and seclude this part of Gulf Shores can be. Beaches not crowded, plenty of seashells to find, and surf fishing is easy. You will not have to deal with all the traffic or a highway full of cars. Wonderful place to unwind and recharge your batteries. We are homebodies and this place will fit perfect for that type of family. We cooked in every night, (wonderful fresh sea food shops close by at great prices ), and grilled by the pool also. The grill is an extra bonus for guys who like to grill. Beach is a short walk and not crowded, we left our chairs out for a couple of nights on the beach. Can't say enough about DREAM BIG. Already have it booked again this coming season. Thanks to the McDonalds generosity, I have the opportunity to show my family what a wonderful place Fort Morgan is and hopefully will always be. Thanks for the wonderful week and memories with more to come in 2011Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had such a great time last weekend at this house! The house is great and the location is superb! The water was crystal clear and the beach was immaculate. My husband and I came down for a long weekend with our 4 and 5 year old boys. They were in love. They loved their room and really loved the direct tv that had every kids channel under the sun (even the ones we don't let them watch, but hey, we're on vacation!). We had my 4 year old's birthday party on Saturday and had our entire family down there and it was just perfect. Even though the pool water was frigid, the kids still swam and had a blast while the adults enjoyed happy hour and grilled out. The deck was perfect for happy hour and the front porch was perfect for morning coffee! We will definitely be back again soon! Thanks so much!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

Dream Big is a perfect vacation getaway. It is tastefully decorated and VERY CLEAN! The pool was a great bonus and our entire family of 10 were very comfortable during our stay. We are looking forward to returning for another visit very soon. Brenda was so very helpful and stayed in contact with us when needed. We would highly recommend this property to others! Thanks for another year of great summer memories for the Chauvin Family. The McDonald's home is private for a family and has access to the beach and a pool. My children enjoy the pool on the back deck more than the beach and ocean. We love staying at this beach house and hope it will be a family tradition for us from now on. I highly recommend it to all who love a quiet family time at the beach. You also are only 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Gulf Shores if you want access to shopping and amusement parks. We love it.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had a great time at "Dream Big." We got married during the week and spent the rest of the week there for our Honeymoon. We loved the place! The pool was awesome and so was the beach. The weather was perfect for your wedding! Ms. Brenda was very easy to get in touch with if I had any questions or needed anything. Great place to vacation! Can't wait to go back! We just returned from another wonderful vacation at Dream Big. This is the third year we have vacationed here. The house is perfect; the pool is great; and the beach is only steps away. The McDonalds are great to work with and we thank them for sharing their wonderful home with us. It is a long drive for us but we look forward to returning again. We would gladly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great relaxing vacation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: We live in Fairhope, AL. I sell Real Estate in the beach area and my husband is a pilot for FedEx. We have a beautiful 5 year old daughter and a large extended family. When we bought "Dream Big" the year after our daughter was born. She truly was the answer to our prayers and our "Big Dream" come true.
Why the Owner Chose Homes, Single Family:
My husband lived in Fort Morgan when he was in high school. His family home was about 2 miles from where our house is now. It was taken out by Hurricane Fredrick in 1979. It was like coming home for him. Also, since I sell real estate in the area it was easy for me to know the exceptional value, wonderful privacy and the tremendous beauty of the Fort Morgan Area.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The privacy and the beautiful white sandy beach is just the beginning. The pool is a wonderful bonus. Then you add the wonderful sunsets and just sitting on the deck in the wonderful chairs (my husband built) watching the dolphins and shrimp boats. It truly is "Paradise" on Pleasure Island - as all the locals call the it.
