The unit is on the top floor of a three story building, with elevator. It has been remodeled. There are two new screened double sliding glass doors - one in the master bedroom and the other in the living room - from which you may enter your private furnished balcony. From either of these rooms or your balcony enjoy inspiring sunrises, magnificent ocean views and warm and gentle sea breezes.
Take time to sun on a chaise lounge by the Olympic sized heated pool or knock yourself out fishing, scuba diving, or playing tennis or shuffleboard on private courts. Also part of this condo is a 160 foot private fishing pier and 600 foot private white sandy beach for shelling and ocean bathing.

Why the Owner Chose Key Colony Beach
After years of visiting different islands in the Caribbean and Keys my wife and I found Key Colony Beach. We liked it so much that we returned there as renters for several years. We purchased our condo several years ago. Since then we have extensively renovated it - all new kitchen including new refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, new dishes, new furniture, new air conditioner, new washer-dryer, new sliding glass doors, new tv's, dvd and VHS player, and stereo, renovated baths, new ceiling fans, new window treatments etc. The condo is directly on the ocean. It has a private beach, private pool, private tennis and shuffle board courts, and a fishing pier with lights, cleaning table and fresh water. The area is great for children. We've visited regularly with our now 14 year old twins ever since they were little. Each time they count the days until they can get back.
Some things we regularly do with our kids: You may want to visit the Dolphin Research Center. If you contact them in advance they can tell you about swimming or splashing with the Dolphins. Crane Point Museum and the Turtle Hospital are also enjoyable. Both have guided tours and activities for kids. Bahi Honda State park is a great place to visit as well. If you like snorkeling we regularly go on the Spirit catameran. It provides all the equipment and takes you to protected reefs.

This 12.6-acre beach is one of the most popular stops in Marathon for good reason. The beach was renovated in 2003 with creative landscaping and other amenities. It offers walkways, picnic areas and a roped off swimming area.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The beach by our condo is sandy, not coral. You can swim to a coral area and snorkel from the beach. However, we usually take one of the snorkel boats - the Spirit - out to the protected reefs. Its supplies all the equipment and takes you to a couple of different protected reefs. Within walking distance are three restaurants, a marina where you can arrange fishing or diving trips; boat or jet ski rental; or para-sailing. There is also a nine hole golf course within a mile. The condo has its own tennis courts with lights, shuffle board court, and fishing pier. The fishing pier has lights, fresh water and a cleaning table. The beach is white sand. You can walk into the ocean without stepping on coral. There is coral and good snorkeling as you get further out and around the fishing pier.
The Marathon Lady is the party boat I go on regularly. There is a morning and an afternoon trip. The phone number is 305-743-5580. Either Dorothy, Diane, Craig, or George, will answer that number. Tell them that your staying in my condo and I'm sure they will be most helpful. Also, Pat Gleason fishes that boat 3 or 4 times a week. She can tell you what's biting, good spots on the boat, etc. If you don't mind spending a bit more money give Captain Big Dave a call. He has a small boat and takes out up to 5 people. He charges about $85 per person for a half day of fishing. I've had my best fishing days on his boat. His number is 305-731-9469. Just tell him you want to catch as many and as big fish as Allan caught when he last fished with him.
As far as restaurants are concerned Fish Tails, located near the Marathon Lady is one of the restaurants that cooks your catch inexpensively. We also regularly go to other restaurants. You can't go wrong with Key Colony Inn, Annette's, the Island, or Frank's Grill. We regularly eat at each of these restaurants, but Frank's is our favorite. All these restaurants will also cook your catch.

My husband, son, and I spent spring break 2011 at this condo. It was wonderful. It was so quiet and most days I was the only one on the beach. My son and husband fished off the dock and had a great time. To really love this condo, you have to appreciate the attitude and atmosphere of the keys. Thanks Allan for all your help and info.
