Great Ocean views from every room!
This cottage is charming, clean and comfortable.
The 13th of Summer is a romantic get-away or a comfy family holiday cottage on the Marin/Sonoma coast. Be awed-
Dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean, waves rushing up the shore. Grand sunsets from hug picture windows or even better from the deck with a glass of wine!
It's just a short five minute stroll to the beach.
When not watching sunsets or the sea, guests can enjoy any of the dozens of books—fiction and non-fiction and current magazines. The cottage is filled with original paintings and sculpture by local artists. No need to work at a wood burning fire. An environmentally conscience gas burning stove is romantic for that fire-wood stove look, warmth and ambiance. The energy efficient gas heater keeps the cottage cozy.
Take a nap; watch the waves.! The westerly living room has an extra long down filled sofa, huge soft chair w/ ottoman and oak rocker. Lots of lamps make reading and close work enjoyable. The view is wonderful. The easterly sitting area is a cozy conversation or media area and has an overstuffed chair with ottoman and love seat.
A new gas range and refrigerator have been added to the kitchen. From the sink is a view of the front garden and from the stove, the sea. Phones for local calls or calling card calls are in the kitchen and master bedroom. Mircrowave, blender, food processor, Kenmore mixer, copper pots, and even a Martha Stewart seasoning/spice collection are available.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed, blue leather wingback chair and oak dresser. Reading the paper, drinking coffee, and watching birds scamper along the shore make staying tucked in under the down comforter a morning pleasure.
The knotty pine bedroom has a queen bed and twin bed, antique oak dresser and upholster high-back chair. When standing by the windows, the bay and Bodega Head can be enjoyed.
Upstairs and between the two bedrooms is a half-bath with sink and toilet.
Downstairs is the full bath with shower, toilet, sink, and, of course, a great view of the ocean. A washer and dryer are in the laundry shed.
The deck provides a great area to relax with teak chaise lounges, table and chair for taking in the view. A cozy and comfortable dining area with the grand Pacific Ocean before you makes inside dining a delight.
The comfy cottage at 13 Summer will reward you with romance and relaxation!

My husband and I were looking for a small cottage at Dillon Beach for us and our 9 month old son (we needed to escape from the snow). We were so happy that we chose the 13th of Summer! The cottage is really charming and comfortable, and very family friendly. The location of the cottage has got to be one of the best in the village; it's located right on the walking path to the beach, and it has views galore. The owners are so hospitable and had left us welcoming treats! The cottage has every amenity that you could need: comfortable beds, a bbq, stereo system, and...views! I appreciated that the owners added lots of touches of local art in the house. You can tell that they were thoughtful with decorating. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay and can definitely imagine this being an annual trip for us. We'll be recommending it to our friends that need a beach getaway.

My friend and I just stayed here for two nights with our three toddlers. It was a perfect stay in every way! A huge thanks to Cherry and Jim! They greeted us at the door and already had a fire going for us! With a quick tour we were on our way to a wonderful stay at a beautiful beach house in Dillon. We were shocked by all of the details. From the sticky buns in the frig to the assortment of cushy blankets layed out everywhere and anywhere you might need one. The kitchen had EVERY thing you might need, even a pannini maker, which we were in need of. We loved discovering all of the art and antiques placed through out the house. Beds......were super comfy! Endless toys, books and movies for the kids. We will be back soon! Thanks again Cherry and Jim!

We would recommend this lovely cottage by the sea to anyone looking for a warm and cozy, quiet place to get away from it all and relax. The owners have it fully supplied with clean linens, dishes and utensils, comfortable beds, and tons of books to read and art to admire. But the best part of this cabin, is its closeness to the water! A three-minute walk and you are on the sand, or just sit on their deck and watch the waves and sunsets. Thanks Cherry and Jim for making us feel so welcome.

My husband's family has been meeting up at Dillon for 20 years. Way back when everyone piled into this property when it was called "The Inn." It was so nice to see it converted into a beautiful cozy home. Everyone liked peeking in and seeing the beautiful transformation to "13th of Summer." We're glad to be the first in the family to return here and we've claimed it for ourselves for next year, too. Hopefully many more! I have never been so comfortable at Dillon. The layout, furniture, and cozy feel made us feel right at home. The kitchen was well equipped. The bedrooms were heavenly. My 10 year old even made her bed each day! The artwork is amazing. Best of all, we had a couple of days with great sun and low wind and we played Mexican Train dominoes on the deck for hours!!! The kid liked hanging out on the swing. Having all the towels and bedding set up was fantastic, and I'm so glad we didn't have to deep clean. Very easy to maintain while we were there. Only needed the washer for one small load, but it worked great. The personal touches were a real plus. The candies (you are a gifted artist with those) and the sticky bun were yummy. The phone calls from Jim were so thoughtful. Thanks for having us and see you next year!

I would like to thank Cherry for sharing her wonderful cottage with us. We so enjoyed our relaxation, beach walks, and views from this cozy cottage. The accommodations were excellent. A great place to start your adventure. We enjoyed the comfortable beds after a full day of touring the beautiful tomales bay. Don't forget to go to Hog Island oyster farm in Marshall for bbq the best ever. We will be back soon. Frank W Ukiah, Ca
