The Timothy Allen House, circa 1782, is privately set on over three acres of lawns and woods bordered by a lovely stream and beautiful stone walls. The original deed to the house hangs in the front hallway. The house is named after Timothy Allen, the original owner, who was a revolutionary war soldier. There is also a large restored barn on the property, circa 1700, one of the oldest barns in Western Massachusetts. A lovely patio area fronts the barn, perfect for barbecues.
Seventy acres of Nature Conservancy land surround the property, making this a special place for seekers of nature, tranquility, and privacy. A short walk down the road leads into Peru State Forest and Left Field Farm, where you can purchase fresh organic produce.
The first floor has a well equipped and updated kitchen, full bath, laundry room, spacious formal dining room, and large comfortable living room with cable TV and DVD/VCR player.
The second floor, accessible by two staircases, has three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and one has two twins. There is also an office with a queen sized futon. There is a full bath with a newly installed tile and glass shower.
There is both a screened-in porch and an open porch for sitting, reading and relaxing, and enjoying the tranquil summer evenings.
Children and pets (dogs) welcome. Sorry no cats!
