  Excellent choice for a very comfortable place on the river. Walking distance from all of the downtown places to eat and drink. Enjoyed hanging out on the two decks, especially the one overlooking the river. Very comfortable bedrooms to retire to after a beautiful day on the river. We will return in the future!

  My family rented this house for the month of July this past summer. We found it to have have everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It is just a quick stroll to the downtown. It is a great location for fishing the Arkansas, just walk out the back and throw in a line.

  This place is basic, but has everything you would ever need in Salida. The location is primo for all the fun you could ever want to walk to in town. We loved the location more than anything, and have been to Salida numerous times and stayed in numerous places. This house is exactly what Salida is. Small, basic, beautiful view, and full of heart. Just like Salida! We'll be back for sure.

  the house was lovely right on the Arkansas river. We were only two blocks from downtown, in easy walking distance from restaurants and stores especially the local coffee shop. We had a great time and accommodations were more then adequate. Would definitely rent from these folks again.

  GREAT place to stay in Salida ---- every thing as advertised - all you need are your clothes. You can purchase groceries at the local store. Bounty Resturant and Quincy's great places to eat out. The owner takes great care of this rental house. Would stay again when in Salida, CO.

  Great house right on the Arkansas. Very homey and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more! We parked our car when we arrived and didn't use it again until our departure. We will definitely be back.

  Had a wonderful time in Salida,the house was very comfortable, there was some street construction going on in front of the house, but it wasn't really an inconvience, the contractors fixed our driveway so that we wouldn't have to park on the street.. This was a hunting trip, we weren't lucky this trip but will be coming back to try again next year. We seen alot of deer, more in front of the house and around town than anywhere else, but this is hunting. The owners of the house are wonderful people to deal with, I wish that we had been able to have met them, we did speak on the phone several times. As soon as we plan the trip next year and get our vacation dates figured out, I'm sure we will try and rent this property again.

  I recently stayed here at Rio Perdido with my daughter, daughter-in-law and three pre-school grandchildren. The location is fantastic. You can easily walk to town and enjoy shoppping or dining. The kids really enjoyed the hot springs pool, the fish hatchery, and all the wonderful playgrounds in town. After a day of being tourists it was so delightful to come home to the house on Sackett St. This is an ideal base for all activities in Salida.

  We chose this property because of its walk-ability to downtown Salida, the whitewater kayaking course, and great Internet connection (we could easily use Skype for work). In our opinion, the house is quite comfortable for work and pleasure. We do month-long adventures that include work and play while we're away from our mountain home in the Smokies; so this house is perfect for that. This Salida house is perfect for just about any family, group or work venture. Thumbs up all the way and thanks for everything. If you do plan to visit, we suggest bringing your rollerblades (there's a cool bike path within 100 yards), your rock climbing shoes (we forgot and there's a cool bouldering section in the park about 10 minutes from the house) and mosquito spray (we are by a river after all). Plus, the owners are so great -- they get back to you quickly and efficiently, answering all your questions either by phone or email. Of all the VRBO places we've rented around the world, we'd highly recommend this as a must-stay - even if you're not looking at Salida. (It's that comfortable.)
