The apartment is very spacious for four (or more) with one bedroom upstairs and one down. Furnishings are very comfortable also: plenty of chairs and table space. Everything is clean. Plus there is a deck with a fine view of the city. There is a garage with entry to the apartment from it, which is quite convenient. TV sets and cable in all rooms, though the one in the main living area might be a bit bigger.Transportation to downtown is close by and easy to use. There are plenty of places within walking distance (convenience stores, restaurants, bars, etc) - but be aware that it is very hilly and the blocks are long so 3 - 4 blocks can be non trivial for some! Travis, the owner, was flawlessly conscientious, cordial and well organised so the whole booking and visiting process was quite frictionless. When we visited, one or two of the light fixtures were a bit quirky. But overall if you enjoy slightly off beat, "interesting" neigborhoods of cities (Castro/Mission in this case) this was an outstanding place to stay at a decent price.

Rated 5 star for the view..no question it is fantastic. This accommodation has two large bedrooms each with comfortable queen beds....5 in our party so we used the air mattress in the linen closet which also contained plenty of extra towels. There is a large living room with extended deck and that great view of much of San Francisco. The kitchen was also quite large although in need of an oven cleaning. Both bathrooms were more than adequate. We did have some surprises....this address is listed as a house but it actually shares the building having a common hallway inside the front door and a second unit downstairs which was occupied during our booked time. The master bedroom with attached bath has two total glass walls. The vertical coverings on these glass window walls are broken, missing, fixed in a half open/half closed position making it nearly impossible to achieve privacy or be able to darken the room for sleep. One further problem was the absence of lighting in some areas as maybe half of the light bulbs were burnt out. Would we rent it again.....yes if we were assured that the maintenance problems had been resolved and that it was to be occupied only by us during our stay. It's a great location with a view to die for!
Owner response:This property is a single family home with a small unit downstairs that the owner uses on rare occassion. Although they do share a common entry, both are completely independent, private and have secure locking doors from the common entry / hallway. This small unit is occupied approximately two weeks total out of a year. I am not always aware of the owner's schedule/plans, so I routinely inform potential renters about the downstairs unit and thought I had informed this guest as well. During the six night stay of this particular guest, the owner gave a close friend permission to stay "two nights" in the small unit downstairs. New blinds for the master bedroom were ordered in July and are scheduled to be installed in September during a break in bookings. The current vertical blinds have become difficult to manipulate, but are functional. Light bulb replacement and oven cleaning are regular maintenence activities between guests. These items will be addressed immediately if there is a problem.

My partner and I just spend 10 days at this property, and found it more than lived up to expectations. The house is well set up and in a great location on the edge of the Mission District and the Noe Valley. These are perhaps not traditional tourist areas but they are really great, vibrant areas with interesting streets, parks, cafes and shops all nearby, and just a short walk from the Muni metro tram. The location is excellent for its proximity to transit, and then of course there are those wonderful views to soak up and enjoy after a hard day's sightseeing. I'd happily recommend this property as a good base for exploring San Francisco. We had no car with us and no problems getting around at all. As I said, it's easy to access the popular tourist sights from this property, but do also take the time to explore and enjoy the Mission District and Noe Valley as well.

We enjoyed our stay at Liberty St. The location is perfect easy access to downtown, close to the 49 mile route. The view is unforgetable.

I agree with all that's written below. What a nice surprise when we arrived, even after a horrible delayed trip ! Incredible view, very spacious house, different levels, comfortable floor and beds, all in a lovely neighbourhood. Use cable J or a cab if u're tired when you get back home, as the streets are tough ! but the view, everywhere, is a big reward. Thank you also to Travis for being so nice and professional. We'll be back, for sure !

It has been two months since we stayed in this beautiful home, which was furnished with everything except food and drink (wet bar and glasses included). The view from the living room and deck is breathtaking, and we watched July 4 fireworks of several neighborhoods and cities around the bay from the deck. The home is spacious, and we always had parking in the attached garage. We used public tran-sportation many times because of the close proximity and convenience. The property manager was very responsive to my numerous questions. I would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity and would certainly recommend it to anyone traveling to San Francisco. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house. It is not an exaggeration to describe the house as spacious, well stocked and comfortable. Sitting on top of a hill, the view from the living room/dining room and downstairs bedroom is more than one can ask for, and the size of the deck overlooking that view cannot be beat. If you are not familiar with SF, this is the area to stay to avoid the fog that rolls in from the Bay. The easy access to Muni (J line) was a real plus. If you prefer to drive, the garage is a gem. And, if you are hankering for good food, just a short stroll across Dolores park, you will find a fabulous gourmet-organic market (Bi-Rite) and some cute cafes/coffee bars. Last, but certainly not least, it was a pleasure to work with Travis -- who can be described as efficient, conscientious, considerate and very accommodating -- which we appreciated very much. We were very pleased with our visit, and would certainly stay in this house again.

The view from this home is almost beyond what you might think of as a view. It immerses you in the city, perched just as the first hill coming away from downtown starts to rise. If you are into views you will not be disappointed. The decorating is mint 1974. So, if that vintage home interior works for you this is one sweet spot to be, central and easy to get to everything. The owners are perfectly efficient and a breeze to work with. We’d highly recommend this rental. Enjoy a perfect location while you snap postcard-perfect shots right from your deck.

We had a wonderful stay in San Francisco. We had so much fun riding the MUNI, walking around the Castro (I found a wonderful yarn shop!), the Haight, the Presidio, etc., etc. The home was perfect and we so enjoyed the view of the City. The rooms are large and comfortable. Travis was responsive to all our questions prior to arrival and we felt very comfortable with our decision. We had so much fun, we plan on visiting San Francisco again in the Spring.

We have been guests in this wonderful home two times, (and are getting ready to book for a third). The views are unmatched and the home is very comfortable. Take advantage of the BART system which is just a short block away, or keep your car in the private garage. This is truly a home away from home. We stayed there in January and July of '07. We preferred January because of the fireplace. The sixteen foot high glass walls surrounding the living room open to the deck, which has a panoramic view of the bay bridge and all of downtown San Francisco. We just snuggle up in front of the fireplace ahd take in the view while sipping on a glass of Napa valley wine. Can't wait to get back.
