  My husband and I (from Atlanta) and my cousin and her husband from Anchorage stayed here for only one night. It was perfect. Amazing views, very secluded (although close enough to others if you found yourself in a situation that required help), clean and comfortable. Everything that we needed was available - wish that we could have stayed longer, but there's just so much to see and do in Alaska. This cabin is the kind of place that made me want to check out of the world for about a month and write a book - or read 50. The owner is available, if needed (we didnt need her). Pretty sure that my cousin will rent here again as other vistors come to town and want a little getaway. This cabin would be great for couples (2) or sight-seekers. It would be tough for young kids, or anyone who isn't strong on their feet. Both of the bedrooms are upstairs, and the stairs are steep and narrow (not the hall width, the stair depth). The bathroom is on the main level, so nightime trips to the bathroom can't be taken lightly. Was fine for us, but potentially risky for some. Just gotta be careful.

  beautiful setting & close to Homer. Didn't get a chance to meet the owner, get a tour of the property or get to walk down to the beach as we'd hoped. Very nice cabin with everything you would need.

  We loved our stay in the Glacier View Getaway cabin in Homer! The view is absolutely breathtaking and the location is very private! The cabin was very clean and they have provided everything that you could ever need. Additionally, the owners are great to work with. We will definitely stay here again.

  My husband and I spent 5 weeks exploring Alaska. I have to say that this was my favorite place that we stayed! The cabin is so cozy and it felt like you were at home. It was very clean and very well appointed. I wished that we could have spent more time there. We had friends to come visit us that week and we were all very comfortable. The views are breathtaking! I highly recommend Glacier View to anyone. Catkin was so nice and gave us a tour of the homestead. It is quite an amazing place with alot of history behind it. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

  We stayed here for a week. It is a beautiful place, like the pictures show & very clean. The panoramic view of mountains, evergreens & the bay is spectacular. We especially enjoyed having a moose and her calf come down the driveway and spend time right by the deck. We hope we can go back someday!

  Our family of 4 enjoyed staying at this cozy quiet cabin. The mountain view is absolutely amazing overlooking Kachemak Bay. It is an easy drive from Homer with good roads. Saw lots of wildlife right from the cabin....Mama Moose with calf, Sandhill Cranes, Lynx sitting on a stump. Enjoyed tour of homestead, along with beautiful walk down to beach along pathway. Felt like we were in Switzerland. We highly recommend this cabin. Loved calling it "home" for 7 days.

  We were very pleased with this VRBO. It was in a private and beautiful location which we really appreciated. We were very pleased with its appearance and was very clean when we got there. It had all the amenties that we needed so we had little to bring except our food. We saw moose and sandhill cranes during our stay which was an added bonus. We spent most of our time boating and fishing but the shopping was also good. I highly recommend this cabin and hope to return again for another stay.

  Have stayed at this cabin several times, great location, views and the unit is comfortable. The hosts are very friendly and will go out of the way to make your stay great! I have stayed with my sons to go fishing in Homer and also came on a second trip with my sweetheart. Both times is was a joy. Thanks Catkin for hosting us!

  We really enjoyed our stay at Glacier View! The cabin was adorable, cozy, and had all the trimmings. Catkin was a great host! She even has roses and champagne waiting for us (it was our 2nd honeymoon celebrating 25 yrs!) We loved hearing all about the homestead and getting a personal tour from her. Amazing history and stories that we will never forget. The cabin was easy to find with her great directions...and it was close enough, yet far enough away from Homer to be accessible, yet give us privacy. We enjoyed hiking to the beach, exploring the Homestead, and then loved our time roaming around in Homer. We went Sea Kayaking in the snow and saw lots of wildlife! We plan to return someday....and refer all of our friends to stay at Glacier View! Thanks for everything Catkin!
