Winter is for settling in, for getting comfortable, for making a winter nest in sunny and cloudy San Clemente.
Winter is for snowbirds! For grandparents, for workers on long assignments, and for the temporarily displaced.
I prefer to rent the entire winter to the same tenant, from sometime in September to sometime in June.

San Clemente's beautiful five miles of continuous sandy beaches are among the world's best for swimming, boogey boarding, surfing and summer fun, Other nearby activities include hiking, wildlife viewing (seagulls all year long and whales if you are lucky), fine and casual dining, local historical museums, and boating and jet ski rentals in Dana Point harbor four miles away
Year Purchased: 1971
Why the Owner Chose San Clemente: My mom bought this charming property in the 1970's because it is close to the beach and to the cute retail and restaurant district of Avenida Del Mar, our main shopping street. The apartment was built in the 1950's and still has that authentic old California beach feel. The ceilings are weathered light wood. The wood floors are refinished original oak. The big deck is the outdoor living room.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: The French doors that open onto the big deck double the summertime living space. It is fun to watch the world go by down on the street as you bbq and relax up on the deck. The apartment is half a long block away from the entrance to the pier. It is just close enough to be able to run down to the beach in about 90 seconds (you can walk and take a little longer), and just far away enough to be a great bargain. Also, because I try so hard and succeed in getting great permanent tenants in the other four units, the climate of the building is friendly, quiet and responsible. I have a fondness for buying original art when it isn't too expensive, so the apartment is like an art gallery with dear paintings on every wall.
