My husband, our Border Collie and I spent a fabulous 7 days at Sky Ledge! It was just what the doctor ordered...The home was even better than we expected and was exceptionally well maintained. The views were incredible and the peacefullness was unmatched. The skylights in the living area really opened up the house and made it feel as though you were sitting outside. Our week was a little chilly but we didn't hesitate for a minute to bundle up and sit out on one of the many decks to enjoy the waves crashing below or the fabulous night sky with stars abound. We watched the ferry go back and forth to Washington Island and also enjoyed the occasional barge that would make its way across Green Bay. I can't say enough "good things" about Sky Ledge and it's owners Dan and Cindy, they made our stay effortless and were available almost immediately for any questions or concerns we had. We will definitely be back to Sky Ledge for another wonderful week of rest and relaxation!
Owner response:We love to have our guests and 4 legged friends come to our home and just thoroughly enjoy their decision to stay for some worthwhile and I might add deserved time.

Couldn't wait to see if Sky Ledge would provide what the website suggested. Oh, did it! Having been in Door County countless times as a youth, and many times as an adult, I knew the area. It was exciting to see the website location and imagine being literally on the tip of the Door! Well, we really were! It was spectacular and stunning! An incredibly maintained home in a wooded setting that feels welcoming immediately. The interior is rustic, open, and immaculate. The photos do not do this home justice! Sky Ledge is a very thoughtfully appointed home. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, silverware and preparation pieces. Cleaning products for the kitchen and laundry were available, but bring your own paper supplies i.e. napkins, towels, toilet paper, kleenex, personal soap. All were provided but depending on the number of guests and length of stay, more may be needed. We had four teenage boys with us who couldn't have enjoyed the rock beach and fire pit more. Although we spent much time in the area enjoying nature and low-key activities, we spent the majority of each day at Skyledge! We loved every minute of it! Can't wait for the chance to visit again! Dan was very friendly and easy to deal with when inquiring and securing our reservation. All our transactions were timely and efficient. Thanks Dan (and Cindy) for everything.
Owner response:We really enjoy having families come stay with us and take advantage of all the natural beauty that is part of the Door County experience. We always hope that our home provides a relaxing yet stimulating environment to spend some holiday time together.

My husband and I stayed here at the end of October with our 2 dogs. The house was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare dinner in the evenings. Firepit on the beach was great and of course there are the most amazing views from all windows on the lakeside over to Washington Island. We would love to return in the summer and make the most of the beautiful location.
Owner response:We love to have our guests come to Door County--stay in our home --and have an enjoyable holiday. The two dogs were absolutely precious and make me smile every time I think of them and "see" their faces--

We just returned from a week's stay at Sky Ledge and it was a wonderful experience! My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary and the whole family was able to get together and spend some quality time with each other. It was great to all sit at the same table for breakfast and dinner and sit out on the deck with our coffee, watch the sun rise and listen to the waves. So peaceful and beautiful. We loved the bonfire and roasting marshmallows down by the lake too! And we could ride our bikes to several coffee shops, gift shops, the ferry and a beach. Thank you Dan and Cindy for giving my family a week we will never forget!!!
Owner response:We love to see our guests, particularly as extended families, come to our home and have a really nice time together---it is so important, we think, for these special occasions to be celebrated together as they have done. What a great idea to do so.

With a roomy common area with fireplace, the house will accommodate four couples very comfortably. We ate all our dinners in house , and had no trouble finding what we needed in the kitchen. Dan and Cindy were promptly responsive to questions via e-mail, an excellent experience, we will be back.
Owner response:We very much like to see our renters come to our property and enjoy their Door County experience.

A home away from home - with the beautiful and beckoning Green Bay, a stone's throw away and seen from bedrooms and living area. It's hard to leave the quiet seclusion of this "above the tension-line" home and all of its amenities, to even take part in Door County's many varied activities. We repeatedly return and would recommend highly. Clean, comfortable. a well-supplied kitchen, and a fire-ring on the water's edge for evening fires and "s'morzes"!
Owner response:We really enjoy having families come to Door County and have a stay with us

After several days of searching for a place in Door County to stay... I stumbled upon this place and knew that i wanted to spend my vacation away in this beautiful home away from home. The pictures online were beautiful, but the place itself was Amazing. Not only was the place perfect but the location was too. It gave us the option of relaxing in the living room, exploring the rocky beaches, shopping, and even hiking. The weather we had the week we went up wasn't ideal, but this place made our stay worthwhile. I would definitely recommend staying here. We'd come back!
Owner response:We enjoy meeting our terrific guests and appreciate their stay with us.

This property is top notch. The fit and finish has all been updated recently and looks great. The kitchen was great and had all the necessary cooking utensils we needed. 3/4 bedrooms have sliding glass doors facing the lake as does the main living area so there's no shortage of great views. This place is a little bit of a drive from most of the action in the area compared to other properties, but that's exactly what we wanted. Just a nice quiet weekend where lots of time was spent at the property. Dealing with the owners directly was speedy and painless. Staying for a week? Even better.
Owner response:We love to have our guests enjoy their stay with us.

Beautiful home, immaculately maintained with incredible views from the living room, three bedrooms and multiple decks. The pictures don't do it justice. Picturesque spot on the ledge with easy access to the beach below. Only minutes away by foot from Gills Rock and rest of northern Door County by car, the place feels wonderfully secluded and private. And a great kitchen for cooking to top it off. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a perfect place to stay in Door County. You're away from the busy parts like Fish Creek, but close enough to enjoy Peninsula State Park or other tourist spots if you want. The sunrises, sunsets, rainbows and stars are a treat to see from the great outdoor deck or the rocks below. A lucky treat during your stay in this house is to have a wild storm hit. The decks are spectacular spots for storm watching. The house is beautiful and has everything you need if you choose to cook in. It is also close enough to great restaurants and golf courses if you want that too. We've been here a number of times and always enjoy coming back - so does our dog (one of these days she'll get that chipmunk!).

A gem in the woods, near the Washington Island ferries. At the northern end of Door County, this is the truly undeveloped area of the county, but is just a quick run down the highway to shopping and fine dining. Within walking distance of Gills Rock and the Shoreline Restaurant’s famous Wednesday Spaghetti Night. We have been here several times when we want to be away from the stress and noise of the city. Even the dog enjoys the getaway. The house is well-maintained, and the setting is beautiful, with gorgeous views of the lake. Dan is a great host - always responsive to any concerns. We have come to think of Beach at Sky Ledge as “our place” in Door county. Just a note: We have only been here in the late spring or early fall, so have not used either the fire pit or fireplace. However, if you plan to use them, please buy your firewood locally. This will help keep our forests free of non-local bugs and diseases.

We had a very relaxing week in this beautiful home with gorgeous panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Had three generations of family members on vacation and all had a great time. Grandparents enjoyed golfing and winery tours as well a reading in front of the gorgeous lake views. Children loved fishing off pier at passenger ferry/gift shops in Gill's rock (one mile away). If your kids like arts and crafts, go to "Hands On Art Studio" where they can paint pottery, make mosaics or do glass or metal work. We enjoyed kayaking in Ephraim and biking in Peninsula State Park. We walked on a daily basis on the very pretty, quiet roads near the house. Don't forget to get ice cream at Wilson's in Ephraim where the portions are scoops are quite large. The house itself is beautiful and immaculate. It was once owned by Phil Austin, a Door County watercolor artist, and it is easy to see how he was inspired living in it. The owner of the house, Dan, is quite accomadating. We wish we had spent two weeks instead of one.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Sky Ledge with my wife and three adult children. What a place! The home is nestled in the woods at the end of a long driveway. It is beautifully maintained, clean, and very comfortable. The views of Green Bay are spectacular. There is plenty of interior space to unwind. The kitchen has modern appliances, the living room has a large wood burning fireplace. The furniture was very comfortable, and the bedrooms are very cozy with comfortable mattresses. Please note that there are no window blinds on the bay side bedroom windows. It gets very bright in the morning however the trade off is the beautiful sun rises. The main deck outside the living room is spacious. The deck outside the master bedroom offers the best view of the bay. The house has many books for reading and several games and puzzles that we took advantage of on the two days that it rained. There is Dish Network TV in the living room and kitchen televisions. There is also a DVD player. If you must use the internet you can drive to Wilson's in Ephraim and park by the library while you enjoy a humongous ice cream cone. There is free high speed wireless access that we tapped into on our laptop while in the car. The outside stairs lead to the beach. There is a fire ring on the beach that we used on three nights. Firewood is not provided but we brought some from home. Plenty of places to buy firewood but it's a ripoff at three to five dollars for a small bundle of "sticks" Unfortunately we kept missing Dan but he was a pleasure to deal with on the phone. If your looking for a secluded vacation home, with beautiful quiet surroundings with great lake views, this is the place for you.

Our visit to Door County was a wonderfully relaxing adventure at Sky Ledge. The home is excellently maintained, exceptionally inviting, and provides a serene escape for anyone looking for a true vacation away from the realities of life. The description of the home is very accurate, lovely views from every window, beautiful mature trees on the property, and comfort in every room. The sunrises over Lake Michigan were astounding. The location of the home is perfect for guests who do not want to be in the midst of the busy tourist areas, but close enough to be easily accessible to everything. We felt like we honestly had the relaxing type of a vacation we were seeking. The hosts were very accomodating, very easy to work with throughout our stay, and very gracious in all dealings. We are very thankful they let us share their home in paradise for our vacation.

What a perfect location for our family weekend away with our adult kids and their spouse/boyfriend. Plenty of open space and privacy in the house. The house is comfortably furnished with all of the ammenities that we needed. Working with the owner was easy and he was very accommodating. It's a great spot to relax and enjoy the house and the surroundings or find any type of entertainment you are looking for in Door County.

The house was everything we were looking for and more. The house and property are in good order. The view is breathtaking. The beach front is what you look for when you want to get away. Great getaway location - Our family - My wife and I, three teenage boys and mother in law. Had plenty of room and all enjoyed the location. The small towns, shops, marinas, beaches, parks, and restaurants kept us plenty busy and entertained. Our hosts were very curtious and helpful.
