Perfect base for visitng Memphis

We stayed at the Lakehouse in October 2011 with our 22 month old daughter. We absolutely loved the house. It is clean, very comfortable and very well equiped with a great entertainment system, endless DVD choices and a great collection of vinyl records.The open plan kitchen/lounge is great and the bedrooms are very comfortable. The views and sunsets over the lake from the screened porch are fantastic. The house is the perfect place to return to after a busy day visiting the attractions of Memphis. The drive into memphis is very easy and most places you would want to visit are no more than 30-45 minutes away. We would love to stay again sometime in the future just to enjoy the house and private dock, fish sunbathe etc. Look no further for the perfect place to stay when visiting Memphis

I could not believe how nice this house was! Five of my friends and I took a "girl's trip" to Memphis for a weekend and stayed here for three nights. It was perfect! Large rooms made for a pleasant, uncramped stay. The screened in porch was perfect for coffee in the morning. The dock is huge!!!! It was clean and spacious and we couldn't have been more pleased. Ruth and Ray couldn't be any friendlier and were helpful throughout the whole process. We are considering another trip in the future just so that we can enjoy the house more. The house is close to Memphis and Tunica and yet far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. There are a couple of restaurants close by. All in all, I highly, highly recommend this house and am so glad that we chose to stay here!!!

Holy smokes! I don't understand why there are not more reviews for this place! My boyfriend and I took a road trip here from Chicago, and the house could not have been more perfect! It is beautiful inside..nicely decorated and CLEAN!!! We loved the record player!! The screened in porch was awesome. We could not believe how beautiful the sunsets were over the lake. The place is just perfect for relaxing and seeing some nature...we loved the little frogs and turtles! Not something you see often in Chicago! Ray and Ruth are quite possibly the nicest people on earth and will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time. We encountered some scary storms while down there and Ray even calIed just to check in with us...so sweet! I really cannot say enough good things about this place or the owners! The neighbors are super nice, as well. The pictures don't do this place justice. You just have to go!!

What a wonderful place! We come to Memphis often for work and have several people travel with us. This a great place to return to after a long day of working to relax, enjoy to sunsets and the lake. The house is fabulous! Plenty of room for everyone without bumping into each other. It has everything you could possibly need and then some. The linens are plush and CLEAN. We truly enjoy our stays here. and...the Owner's are very conscientious of your needs. Definitely worth a stay!!!

Gorgeous house on the lake

My husband, daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous 2 week stay in this fabulous house last summer. I am so glad we chose this place. Within easy striking distance of Memphis, Graceland, Little Rock and the Mississippi blues towns, it was a great base for touring the area. Horseshoe Lake itself is wonderful and the dock is perfect for barbecues and lazy evenings. We loved the huge collection of music and films. The décor and furniture are really tasteful and comfortable. We really recommend this house!

Real Family Friendly with Southern Charm

Our family rented the house five years ago and have continued to rent it every year thereafter because of the wonderful experiences we can count on there. It has always been well-kept and clean and is loaded with fun things to keep you entertained, like music, books, movies and lots of tv channels, gourmet kitchen and space for family visits (sofas, tables, porch, pier). We've even collected pecans together from the trees up front! The master bedroom has its own thermostat and state of the art shower. Having a washer and dryer available makes it easier to travel light and keep things clean, We use the house as a place to rest and relax and have family reunion since we grew up in Memphis. We can go back and fourth to Memphis quite easily when we want to. We were attracted to the house because of its description on VRBO and have found that it has lived up to its advertisement, including being pet-friendly and clean. One of our family members is a dog, and she loves the house as much as we do! The owners have been readily available for any questions or concerns that we have had over the years. The first year, he gladly walked us through using the satellite tv because we had never used one before. Another time instead of driving through a bad ice storm to return to Texas, after communicating with them they let us stay an extra day. I think the owners are so thoughtful because they truly want people to not only enjoy the house but to have a true southern charming experience, which is exactly what we've had every time we stay there. I would not and have not hesitated to recommend this property and experience to anyone - you can count on it and the owners.

Horseshoe Rental Paradise

This is one of the coolest places to go to fish, relax and just get away. The evening sunsets are breathtaking in the summer months. The house is beautifully decorated and there are wonderful books and music selections for almost anyone. Sometimes you can rent places that are barely furnished but this one is beautifully decorated. I really appreciate the owner's special touches. They have a small older charcoal grill on the back porch and except for that, the place was awesome!!
