Zandoli is a spacious, three bedroom two-storey wooden house on Pigeon Beach Road. Set on a gently sloping hillside within the National Parkland area of Historic English Harbour and Nelson's Dockyard, the lovely sandy Beach at Pigeon Point voted one of the ten best beaches in the Caribbean is just 3 minutes walk away. Beautifully designed and built in traditional Caribbean style, it has painted Jalousie wooden shuttered doors and windows to catch the breeze, ceiling fans and large shady verandas with south westerly sunset views across Falmouth Harbour towards Rendezvous Bay. Comfortably appointed with Balinese teak furniture all the bedrooms have Four poster queen sized beds with en suite shower/ bath rooms the house has a well equipped open-plan kitchen upstairs and two separate lounge areas. The house is in a quiet location, yet within easy walking distance of all the facilities at Antigua Yacht Club and Marina and the restaurants, bars, cafes and shops of Falmouth & English Harbour.
Entering from the gated car parking area, through the 'Bali Gate' ensures privacy and security around the house. Landscaped gardens around the house are planted with a large variety of colourful tropical plants and trees including cactus, palms, banana trees, frangipani and bougainvillea all tended to by Gilberto the gardener twice a week.
Approach the front entrance porch and just prior to entering the house there is a Balinese stone carved warm shower set amongst the palms to wash sand away when returning from a day at the beach.
Step into the cool interior with wooden polished floors throughout and large shady verandas on both levels.
There is a comfortable lounge area on both levels within the main house and the open plan kitchen upstairs leads out onto the dining area on the upper veranda. With its large round table, seating for up to ten people and sunset views overlooking Falmouth Harbour Bay, it's the ideal setting for relaxed family holiday meals and entertaining, especially cocktails at sundown!
Our housekeeper Fiona prepares the house and welcomes clients on arrival. She shows all the facilitiesof the house and demonstrates the security alarm system.
There is maid-service twice a week: coming to clean and tidy the house, change bedding and towels and do the house laundry. Any personal laundry is done by separate arrangement with Fiona.
Any other special requirements made by prior arangement with Fiona, such as babysitting, for which payment is made directly to her.
The location of the house is within easy reach of all the shops and cafes, restaurants and bars of both English and Falmouth Harbour.
A car is not essential but we do recommend renting a vehicle for exploring further afield and enjoying the island to the full. There are several taxi and rental firms close by and they will do an airport collection and return service. We recommend several companies to clients and send out lots of information about the house and the island once a booking is confirmed.
There is ample info in a pack at the house with other activities, eating and shopping recommendations in.as well as important information to do with the house facilities.

Our group of 6 was in Antigua for the Classics Yatch Regatta and chose this beautiful home as our home base. This is an ideal location for a group... the house is luxurious yet comfortable. The views of the harbor are fabulous and everything you could possibly need is in the house. This is a quick walk to the marina and the buzz of "downtown". Pippy was wonderful to deal with as was Fiona, her lovely house-keeper. Couldn't recommend this place more!!Owner response: We are so glad you had a fantastic time staying at Zandoli during Classic Yacht week. That is so good to know! We look forward to welcoming yoy back sometime.

I would thoroughly recommend this villa. We were worried about the lack of air conditioning but it wasn't an issue in any way. The ceiling fans and trade winds provided more than enough cooling. The kitchen is well equipped and we didn't feel like we wanted for anything. Cool boxes were even provided to take food and drink to the beach. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were immaculate as well as the other rooms. The views from the balcony were stunning and we enjoyed having breakfast there in the mornings. Fiona, the housekeeper, was fantastic and any numbers you would need on the island were provided in a handy address book. Landlines were provided which allowed us to make calls without having to worry about the extra expense. The location of the villa is also great with tonnes of local restaurants and shops just a two minute walk away. There are a lot of mosquitos on the island but thankfully the owners provide excellent nets and insect repellent plugins in every room. You can never have enough repellent though so I would advise taking some of your own. All in all we had an unbelievable time on the island and in the villa which enjoyed all the little home comforts you'd want which has obviously been thought about by the owners. We'd like to thank them for all the information they provided before our stay which really made all the difference and would definitely recommend Biggs car rental if you're looking to hire a car while you're out there. You'd be more than happy staying in this villa and we would definitely go back.Owner response: We are thrilled that everything we have put in place for our guests comfort and enjoyment has been fully appreciated as shown in this lovely review of your recent holiday stay at Zandoli! It is of course our holiday home too so it makes sense to us that we provide all the things that we like to have in place ourselves for a relaxing time in the tropical climate of the Caribbean. As well as a landline, to make local calls, we also provide 2 local cell phones for guests use while on Island. It's especially good to hear compliments from our guests for Fiona, our lovely housekeeper, who always gives the same 5 star treatment to our guests as she gives us!

My husband, parents, sister and I just returned from a week-long stay at Zandoli and we couldn't imagine a better place to have spent our vacation! The villa itself is gorgeous - spacious, airy and comfortable with a large, well-appointed kitchen and modern, full bathrooms attached to each of the bedrooms. As lovely and luxurious as the inside of the house is, the highlight is definitely the spacious veranda with its sweeping view of Falmouth Harbor. We spent countless hours in the morning over breakfast and again in the evening relaxing on the comfortable loungers and enjoying the vista. Not only is the house itself absolutely beautiful, the location couldn't be better! Pigeon Beach, an uncrowded beach with white sands, calm waters, a view of Falmouth Harbor, and a beach bar, is just a few minutes walk down the hill in one direction. In the other direction are the numerous bars and restaurants of English Harbor as well as a small grocery & liquor store. We especially enjoyed Cloggy's and Paparazzi for dinner and Le Cap Horn for dessert. Although everything you need for a perfect vacation is within walking distance, we'd recommend renting a car and exploring the island as lovely beaches, each with their own unique charm, rim the entirety of the island. We spent a day each on Turner's Beach (long, white sand beach with beautiful blue water), Long Bay Beach (fine, powder-like sand, calm, pool-like water, a reef with colorful fish a very short distance from shore, and a lovely beach bar), and Half Moon Bay Beach (beautiful pink sand, the warmest water of the beaches we visited, and rocky outcroppings along the edge of the beach that made for a unqiue landscape). We rented a compact car from Big's Car Rental in English Harbor a few days into our stay - the small car was certainly sufficient for exploring the island and renting through Big's was smooth and efficient. Other highlights include Fiona, the housekeeper, who ensured the villa was in pristine condition for our arrival and who came every other day to change the sheets and towels and tidy up; the wildlife that surrounded the villa, including bright, colorful birds and adorable, little goats; the view of English & Falmouth Harbor from Shirley Heights, a short drive from Zandoli; and the opportunity to view some of the largest and most outstanding charter and private sailing yachts.Did you find this review helpful? If you want experience island living in a beautiful villa, Zandoli is the best rental in the area. New condition, beautifully furnished, modern full baths for each bedroom and a guest bath. No need for air conditioning with the airflow through the home, beds were equipped with netting, but we had no problem with bugs during our stay, perhaps the great number of gecko's residing outside helped. The upstairs porch was a lovely gathering spot for early morning coffee to late evening drinks with a stunning view of the entrance of Falmouth Harbour. Sunsets were magnificent! We rented this villa during our stay in English Harbour for our daughter's wedding. We had lots of movement of guests in and out over the 11 nights and Fiona was awesome with changing out rooms and bedding, we were also able to fit an extra guest on the downstairs sofa(s) which she made up for a bed. I thought we might miss having a pool, but the most beautiful beach on the island is a short walk and a lovely outside shower kept the saltwater and sand off us. Zandoli is located just off the entrance at the top of a rise from Nelson Dockyard. We also had guests renting two other villas next door and were able to move between them easily for activities. It is walkable to all attractions, restaurants, and nightclubs, but is quite a steep walk home and you may want a car or a taxi in the evening to return to the villa, depending on your health:) Pippy was very accommodating and patient with all my questions before booking, the villa was everything we had hope for and more and highly recommend it to fellow travelers!Owner response: This is a wonderful review, thank you so very much. We are really pleased we could be flexible with the guest arrangements and that it all worked well for your stay and for your wedding guests. You're right our lovely housekeeper Fiona is truly awesome! This comment will make her very happy :) We agree that with Pigeon beach close by we need not build a pool at Zandoli. This has enabled us to keep our rental rates lower and more competatively priced for a large house in the English Harbour area. We hope if you return to Antigua you will stay at Zandoli again!

Zandoli is a stunning house in the best location in Antigua. It is in walking distance of beautiful Pigeon beach and nice restaurants and bars. The owners give you lots of information before arriving, about the house and the area, so it is easy to get straight into the holiday. Plus the lovely Fiona is there to greet you and can get some basic essentials for your first day. The house was spotless and was regularly cleaned during our stay, with plenty of fresh towels and clean linen. The house is beautifully designed with verandas for relaxing, and great views out to sea. It is really well equipped and furnished to a very high standard so it is like staying in a home from home rather than a holiday rental. It is in a peaceful location so we felt completely relaxed and spent many evenings sitting watching the stunning sunsets. There are games at the house which meant our 8yr old was kept entertained and with the beach so near we could take her swimming as often as she wanted.s The house was everything that we were hoping for and was exactly as described on the website. I would not hesitate in recommending Zandoli.Owner response: We are thrilled to know how much you enjoyed your recent holiday at Zandoli. Your comments regarding how at home and comfortable you felt are very rewarding and make all our efforts to 'get it right' worthwhile. We'll pass on your review to Fiona, she really does a wonderful job looking after everything and everyone and welcoming our guests to Zandoli.

“I came again to Zandoli…..” - It sounds as if it could be an introduction to a Daphne du Maurier novel ,and in so many ways it is evocative of a place where erstwhile memories can be conjured again and again. For upon reacquaintance one is instantly reminded of the previous visit, to an idyllic location and a marvellous house in which to luxuriate at ease in an atmosphere of calm and natural beauty. The owners have created Zandoli in the essence of a Thai dwelling with strong Balinese influence in design and décor, yet with all conveniences and appurtenances of the 21st Century subtly disguised within a setting which is timeless. It is thus that upon finding the inviting warmth within this environment, one feels completely relaxed and ready to enjoy a vacation of a lifetime in such ambient surroundings. “The Help” (pardon current parlance) Fiona, is effusively welcoming, and any request how big or small is no problem for her. The proximity of one of the finest amongst its 365-boasted beaches, which Antigua offers (one for every day of the year) is paramount, for within a mere 200 metres is the most wonderful Pigeon Bay beach, which the house overlooks from its well-chosen position, affording an ever-changing view of the bay, which is actively enchanting from dawn until night. One can sit on the balcony all day and watch the ships and boats which ply in and out of English Harbour: the myriad colour changes of the sky and sea during the hours of daylight, and the most fantastic skyscapes of the most vibrant colours of the spectrum, as the sun goes down over the silhouette of the hill on the opposite side of the bay - such unforgettable and mesmerising sunsets to be found anywhere in the world. Also within easy reach nearby is Nelson’s Dockyard , without doubt one of the best attractions; unmolested for nearly 300 years, still utilising all the original sympathetically restored buildings, transports the visitor back to the period of the late 18th century. It is especially evocative with all the traditional tall ships and sailing boats moored by the quays, or in the tranquil blue waters of this amazing natural harbour. Without wishing to provide a travelogue of the island, there is so much to enjoy with excellent restaurants and exciting haunts to be savoured, all within a stone’s throw from the house called “Zandoli”. Once experienced you too will be totally and forever smitten with its charms and the call of the Caribbean.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We arrived at Zadoli in the delicious heat of the Antiguan afternoon to be greeted by charming Fiona, the housekeeper, who showed us around. Our arrival could not have been easier and before long we were relaxing on the spacious balcony commanding tremendous views of beautiful Pigeon Bay. We found Zadoli airy, roomy, secure, well presented, and set in a delightful and colourful garden with “bush” on the other side of the road which is grazed by a small herd of goats. The place has been decorated simpy and tastefully with some lovely furnishings. Everything in Zandoli has been thought about very carefully and as a result the facilities fit perfectly with whatever one decides to do. Pigeon Beach, a beautiful and quiet beach, is where we spent the majority of our time and that is just a three minute walk down the hill. Zadoli couldn’t be better placed whether you want to chill on the beach or whether you want to go to bars and restaurants. English Harbour is just eight minutes walk away, but, from the house, you wouldn’t even know it is there as it is on the other side of the hill so there is no noise or light if you want an early night. We found a number of delicious restaurants and bars, most notably Rum Baba, Cloggys, Trappas, and Hamiltons which have a variety of tremendous food and all within a gentle walk of Zandoli. There is a very detailed and helpful file in the sitting room which gives information about every aspect of the house and Antigua. With the help of this file we managed to organise what ever we felt like doing. For example, one morning we sailed in a racing yacht from English Harbour and watched the Classic Yacht Race! Many of the other reviews have said that 5 stars are not enough: I agree. A lovely and tastefully luxurious house for a perfect holiday in the sun.Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to reward us with your wonderful review! we hope you will return to enjoy Zandoli again.

I hesitate to write this review, because I'd prefer to keep such an exceptional place to myself. In short, the place, the stay, the location: all were excellent. The house is lovingly appointed: it is not a mere guest house, but someone's home, and the owners have spared nothing to make your stay there complete. The gardener came by several times, the housekeeper every second day. The kitchen has everything, you are five minutes walk away from an incredible beach, five minutes the other way to restaurants and harbours. Every morning, an incredible view of the harbour and the neighboring nature reserve. A great place for up to three couples, completely comfortably. The few downsides (nothing to do with the house) is that groceries are hard to come by (a downer for foodies: advice - go to the capital once, stock up, and don't return), and our experience with renting a car (dollar rentals) was poor. Aside from that? Paradise I just had someone post this on Flipkey...It's a lovely review… thanks so much Blade! Sorry about your bad car rental experience, we recommend 2 good English Harbour firms who do airport transfer too....Next time! PippyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Zandoli is a beautiful house set in a large garden overlooking the sea and facing westish, right into the sunset - perfect. It's on the point between Falmouth Harbour and English Harbour so ideally placed for visiting both and it's a five-minute walk down to Pigeon Beach with its white sand, shady trees, azure blue sea and 'Bumpkins' - bar/resto selling light lunches and rum punch! The property, which is only 4 or 5 years old, is more than well looked after by Fiona, the housekeeper and Gilberto, the gardener, both of whom are friendly, smiley and helpful and they, along with the information file provided by the owners made settling in very easy. I would certainly recommend Zandoli to my friends. The house is in an ideal location for exploring the south of the island - the history of Nelson'd Dockyard is right on the doorstep, there are walks to enjoy and, of course, the fabulous boats in the harbours. Restaurants in Falmouth Harbour are better value than in English - Cloggies and Trappas were favourites. Our only disappointment was Catherine's Cafe in English Harbour which we found overpriced, pretentious and uncomfortable...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I was lucky enough to spend a week at Zandoli. It was the perfect setting for a luxury holiday. I stayed in one of the bedrooms downstairs and completely agree in that the rooms were very comfortable and stylish. I would defiantly love to stay here again. With the travelling around the island and seeing most of it, i would say Zandoli is built in the best location to get the best out of Antigua. We went to pigeon beach a couple of times which is only 2 minutes down the road and has a charming and very friendly place to eat and drink called Bumkins. I also recommend the sports bar opposite the harbour for a great place to have breakfast and lunch. The high point of nightlife for me, was going to Shirley Hights on a sunday evening. The steel band was amazing which defiantly gets you in the mood for dancing for the later live music sand singing. Not forgetting the fantastic view of the sunset. I would defiantly recommend renting a car as we had some fantastic day trips which included traveling to Dickenson's Bay to catch a speedboat trip around the island stopping for an amazing opportunity to swim with stingrays! Another outing was only a 15 minute journey to Fig Tree Drive, where i had the great experience of zip wiring through the rainforest. Where i purchased my ''Me Dun Do Dat'' t-shirt. (Antigan slang for i just completed the zip wire challenge!) A must see place and for me the best bay there is, Half Moon Bay, a 30 minute drive to the perfect tropical beach with the typical bright white sand and clear blue sea. Overall a Fabulous holiday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
