Great Thanksgiving Stay 2010

Guest: Tonya (Oklahoma )
Date of Stay: 11/20/10 Review Submitted: 04/26/11

My husband, daughter and I stayed here the week of Thanksgiving 2010 and had a very nice vacation. We thought the cabin was great and the view was even better. The fireplace worked as well and was great with the timer. Cabin had everything we needed and loved the pool table and shuffle board. Hot tub was great and clean when we were there, too. The only minor issue we had was the batteries were dead in the combination lock and we called the number for maintenance and they were there within 10 minutes to fix. So no real issue. The drive up the mountain was a bit intimidating but after a few days we were fine with it. Thanks for a great stay!!!!! We will stay here again on our next trip

Great experience at Cherokee Lodge

Guest: Linda K. (Emmaus, PA)
Date of Stay: 05/06/10 Review Submitted: 06/14/10

This was my fourth stay at Cherokee Lodge, which in itself should say something. I have fallen in love with the Smoky's - and this cabin completes the picture. The location is ideal- on top of a mountain with an amazing view, yet close to all the action below. I've looked at a number of properties throughout PF and this one really does stand out. The cabin is nicely furnished and has a wonderful rustic feel (without the tacky bear shower curtains and fake bear rugs you see everywhere else). I love the fireplace that serves both the living room and master bedroom (it was working for me!). Though there are cabins on each side, privacy was easily obtained with closing the blinds and/or curtains. You receive plenty of light with the floor-to- ceiling windows on both levels overlooking the mountains- for me a huge draw. PF is a wonderful town with alot to offer- particularly for families. I hope to return soon.

Cherokee Lodge

Great view, fireplace did not work, tub in master bedroom would not hold water, could shower only , place was clean, except for the dead flies in the window sills. The hot tub smelled musty and moldy, left smell on your skin after you were out. Every time some one moved in the loft the floor would squeek and wake me up. Was told that there were not cabins close to it, wanted a sort of rustic isolated feeling. Next cabin, was so close you could look out your windows and see in to their windows. Was on top of the mountain which was nice, but it was five miles up the mountain, speed could not go over ten miles an hour going up and had to ride the brakes all the way down. If used to driving in the moyntains this would probably not be a problem, but when you get to the top of a curve and could not see the road ahead, you had to srop to see where you needed to go. Felt l they would tell a person anything just to get the cabin rented. Would I stay there again, No Way. I had been to the area before so the towns were nothing new, I knew what to expect and was not dissapointed with Pigeon Forge. All in all it was a good time. The last comment in the guest book was 2008. know why now. Also no comments on this site because they take off the negative, and thats probably all they have been getting.
