My husband and 2 adult daughters and I were delighted with the Villa. Very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The pool was sensational, nothing like taking a dip before breakfast in the privacy of your very own pool. The staff looked after us well and Ari cooked for us a couple of nights. A map of the local area would have been handy together with information on what is around the immediate area. The walk to the beach was long but very pleasant, wandering through the rice paddies. I would definitely recommend staying here, and in particular for a family holiday it's ideal. You need to drive to the shops etc but the taxis arrive quickly and are very cheap.

Two families, two weeks, too amazing for words!

Villa Santai exceeded our expectations on almost all counts. We were two families ( 4 adults & 5 kids aged 11-15), and luckily we had two weeks to spend enjoying Bali and in particular relaxing in this lovely villa. The bedrooms & bathrooms were comfortable, tastefully appointed, spacious and spotlessly clean, and the beds were very comfy. Showering outdoors was a highlight! The outdoor living area was also very comfy, and enabled us to make the most of the gorgeous gardens, whilst the kids couldn't resist the lure of cheap DVDs in the TV room! The pool was divine - the perfect temperature, plenty big enough and meticulously maintained. Actually the photos on this site don't do Villa Santi justice - it really is beautiful, with enough space for all of us to spread out. The staff, particularly Ari and Wayan, were delightful and discreet, and went out of their way to make our holiday easy, restful and enjoyable. Waking up to the delicious breakfasts (at whatever time we wanted), at a nicely set table, was a real treat, especially for the mums. Ari carefully, speedily and cheaply, took care of all our laundry as well. Whilst you do need a car or taxi to get from Villa Santai to the beach or shopping/restaurant areas in Pettitenget or Seminyak (approximately $2-$3 Australian by taxi), we loved the quietness of the area, and the fact that we were serenaded by roosters and cows rather than traffic! There are a couple of lovely Western-style restaurants within a 10 minutes walk of the villa, but walking to the beach is not really an option - the villa manager Nyoman led us on a walk there one day, but it involved a muddy forest path and crossing paddy fields - not something you'd do laden with towels etc. Perhaps if the road goes through in the future the beach will become more accessible, but it's not a beach suitable for swimming anyway. The only things we'd change is perhaps having the option of twin beds (or a king bed that can be split into two) in one or two of the rooms (conning two large 15 year old boys into sharing a bed, even a big bed, was quite a challenge!). Also, having not been to Bali before, it would have been helpful to have an information pack on our arrival (containing taxi numbers, location of supermarkets, map of local area with restaurants marked etc). We are already planning a return visit, as we had one of our best holidays ever, largely due to the great facilities and staff at Villa Santai - we think it's unbeatable value

Once again I had the pleasure of staying at this villa with friends and family for a week. The accommodation is perfect, spacious, clean and well maintained. The staff are very helpful and are always available and are respectful of the privacy of guests. They staff catered for us professionally whether it be breakfast preparation, cleaning rooms,calling taxis or giving info it was all done with a smile and efficiently. I cant wait for my next holiday and to stay longer!

We stayed here for 2 weeks over the Xmas period. The pool is fantastic and we loved the open living area. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are open but private. It was further from the beach than we thought but it was easy to organize a driver. It would be great for 2 families or extended family as it is quite spread out and you have space for privacy.(Note for families with young children, rooms open directly out to pool area)

There was 9 of us consisting of 3 families including my parents who stayed in Villa Santai 1 for 3 weeks. One thing we found was how much space there was, enabling all 9 of us to comfortable relax and enjoy the lovely surroundings giving us the feeling we were at a resort. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great. The pool was enjoyed by everyone especially the kids. We all had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it.

Villa Santai was a welcome oasis from the heat and bustle of Semiyak! The bedrooms were spacious and clean and the pool couldn't have been better! We used the bale (open living room and dining room) more than we thought we would. We were there in April and even though winter is nearing in Bali it is HOT!!! The staff at Villa Santai were friendly and exceptionally helpful, securing taxis, directing us to great restaurants, and arranging wonderful tours of Ubud and surrounds. We were close to riding stables and it never cost more that $3 for a taxi ride into the heart of Seminyak. Desi, our breakfast cook and general "fixer" make marvelous crepes as well as local breakfast favorites. Nyoman, our "tour guide" did a great job of renting large vehicles to transport the six of us. His tour of Ubud, the volcano, and temples was perfect. We were a bit farther from the beach than we thought we would be but we enjoyed the pool so much that we didn't mind. What a wonderful week! The open, garden baths were a bit difficult because of mosquitoes at night. Perhaps the owners would consider screening them. But, all in all, we couldn't have asked for a nicer stay.

We stayed in villa Santai 1 early November and had a fantastic time. The villa staff, especially Desy and Yanthi were wonderful and nothing was ever too much trouble. The huge pool was a hit with our children and breakfast every morning was great. We hope to return soon.

We stayed in Villa Santai II for a week in September 2009 with family. It was a fabulous villa and very comfortable and private. The staff working there are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend staying here to anyone and hopefully we will return next year.
