  We just returned after 3 nights at this property and were so happy with our stay. The house is much bigger than the photos suggest and there have been some cosmetic changes (new living room set etc) since that make it even nicer. Great outdoor area for dinners, easy parking. We had 7 girls in our group and there was tons of space (plus 3 people could shower at the same time which was key). The property owner is super easy to work with and accommodating and the location can't be beat. Overall, we were super happy!

  This quiet, roomy retreat was a welcome surprise! We are quite familiar with the Crested Butte area having grown up in Colorado and visiting CB frequently. We've also owned land near Mt. Crested Butte for more than 8 years. We thought the location of this home would be noisy and not very private. Happily, we were very wrong! (We've stayed in several different in-town homes at various locations in CB that were very noisy and had very little privacy) Less than two short blocks from the main shopping, dining, and bars of the Town of Crested Butte, "End of Elk" is convenient and, even though the famous "Secret Stash" restaurant is across the street (also deliciously convenient), we enjoyed quiet visits in the ample grassy, fenced-in yard while cooking on the outdoor gas and charcoal grills. The home has a cozy corner gas fireplace in the open living/dining/kitchen area with a TV/DVD/VCR and a stereo receiver. There is also full size washer and dryer in the hallway leading to the upstairs. Down the hall from the kitchen is a bedroom with a double-bed. Then, next to that is a bathroom with shower. At the end of the hall, the uniquely designed master bedroom (the bedroom itself is four steps below the main floor level) boasts a jetted tub which separates the bedroom from the bathroom area. There is a wonderful steam shower and also heated towel rack. Off to the side of the master bedroom is a very comfortable roomy sitting area which provides a silent retreat for reading or meditation. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms with twin beds in each. Between the bedrooms is a full bathroom. This home was perfect for having friends stop by during the 4th of July parade and associated festivities of the holiday weekend. It's also the perfect in-town retreat for any season (the free shuttle bus to Mt. Crested Butte stops a block and-a-half away) and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable, quiet, convenient accommodations in the Town of Crested Butte.

  My husband, dog, and I always stay here when we visit Crested Butte. The clean, spacious home is right at the end of Elk Ave, the main street in historic CB, so you can walk up and down the street to all the wonderful restaurants and shops. Being at the end of the street also offers a bit of quiet and privacy. We love hiking or snowshoeing straight up the hill directly behind the house, where there is a path to a stellar view of the mountain and the town, and connecting to other trails. We love to cook, and the kitchen and living room (with WARM gas fireplace!) are adjoined, so you can still be together leisurely whether reading or cooking. There is plenty of room for a big family (many bedrooms), or intimacy for just a few. There's also a sweet little yard where you can grill or let the dog run around. Also, Mitch (the owner) is extremely kind and responsive. He is a long time CB resident and clearly takes great care of the house and the people who come to visit Crested Butte. We've come in fall and in winter, and it has been fantastic! Looking forward to a spring/summer visit.
