We have made several trips to Kauai. This condo was very spacious, clean, comfortable and and had all the comforts of home. It is very close and convenient to everything and being able to sit and watch the surf from the patio area was relaxing. I definitely recomend this condo and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Just bring your swimsuits and enjoy!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

Allan's condo is exactly as advertised. Kapa'a is centrally located making island touring very easy. The 4 mile long walking/biking path was uncrowded with no unleashed dogs. All users were very considerate of each other. Appreciated the air conditioning! Loved the sound of the surf at night. Well equipped, clean and well maintained.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

Once again, we have enjoyed our stay in Kaapa and what a treat to stay so close to the beach. The sunrise each morning was beautiful and the unit was well furnished with with every thing we needed to make it a wonderful time. Mr. T was so helpful and provided material that was pertinent to the locations we went to. We love Pona Kai and would stay there again. And what a treat the Shave Ice at Ono's was! Right across the street! Looking forward to next year!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

We just got back from spending a wonderful time at this lovely condo. It was my first trip to Kauai and the location of the condo made it a very convenient home base for exploring the island. When we were not out and about sightseeing and enjoying the most awesome “Puka Dog” we were enjoying the beautiful sunsets and incredible ocean views. I loved the 4 mile walking path just a few steps from the lanai. There are plenty of shops and great places to eat within walking distance. The condo was clean, spacious, and stocked well. Would defiantly recommend staying here and would come back in a heartbeat!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Too often, vacation rentals aren't as nice as their flowery puffed-up web descriptions/photos read. This little gem however, won't disappoint. In a word – Wow!!! We stayed here with another couple in early June. This condo was the perfect size for the four of us. We were uber comfortable - plenty of living space, two full bathrooms, generously sized bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen. I'm OCD about cleanliness and when we arrived, this place was “white-glove clean”. The sunrises are spectacular and having the ocean mere steps from our patio was heaven. The location in Kapaa was also superb. We comfortably strolled to the local eateries, grocery stores and shops (there’s a Shaved Ice shop just around the corner with flavors to die for!). There’s even a place to rent bikes next to the Shaved Ice shop – talk about convenient! If you’re wondering about tourist adventure activities (tubing, zip line tours, scenic flight tours, etc.), on Thursday at the pool clubhouse is an orientation (I think they have the orientation a couple times during the week) with presenters from various businesses offering these type of activities. The orientations are super informative and made it easy & convenient to sign-up for your adventure of choice (I recommend the Kauai Backcountry Adventure tubing tour). We will definitely be rebooking our stay here!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful vacation on this place- nice location, spectacular views especially the sunrise which I really enjoyed every morning at the lanai. The beach walk is great- we had fun biking, Easy access to drive around either going to south or north part of the island. The unit is spacious, clean, comfortable, relaxing and convenient- masterbedroom is huge. The kitchen makes you feel at home. We enjoyed cooking and making smoothies from the fresh fruits we got from the markets. This place w/out any doubt is awesome. We definitely love to get back and would highly recommend this to our friends. The owner is very approachable and will surely answer all the concerns to make your stay marvelous and comfortable.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We just spent 10 days at this very comfortable condo, with beautiful sunrises every morning! This is an ocean-front property, first level, no stairs or long hallways, with beautiful views of the water. Pono Kai has very nice landscaping and is well-maintained. We found it to be centrally located, and within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops in Kapaa. Some of our favorites: Raspberry Twists and Oatmeal/Coconut Cookies from the bakery (next door to the ABC Store), Country Kitchen for Breakfast for those wonderful Macadamia Nut Pancakes w/Coconut Syrup, YUM! We especially enjoyed the Farmer's Markets throughout the island - very local with delicious tropical fruits and organic produce. Our favorite beach: Anini Beach, not far from Hanalei Bay. For gorgeous sunsets: Salt Pond Beach. Waimea Canyon was awesome and worth the drive. We also enjoyed the Friday night Art Walk in Old Town Hanapepe where you can visit the art galleries, meet the artists, and top it off with a tasty slice of pie from "The Right Slice" (well-known as the Pie Lady). For quilting enthusiasts, Kapaia Stitchery in Lihue is highly recommended, and also the Kerry Oda Photo Gallery at the Craft Market in Kapaa. Two Dinner Restaurants we really liked were Kalaheo Cafe and Coffee Company in Kalaheo, and the Kauai Pasta in Kapaa. Best Hawaiian Treat is the Hawaiian Blizzard (shaved ice) from the vendor @ the Big Save Grocery Monday thru Friday afternoons - Definitely the best shaved ice on the island, snow-capped with Cream!! We look forward to returning to Kauai again, sometime, and would definitely return to this condo in Pono Kai! Thank You, Alan! We spent a week in this lovely condo. I can't say enough about how comfortable it was. The master bedroom and bath were very large. The unit is much closer to the ocean than the picture suggests. The grounds of Pono Kai are lovely. I have already recommended the unit to my friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Beautiful Condo! Top quality in decor, cleanliness and location. Best part was walking out the door to the beach...no stairs or hallways. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the waves. Loved the quietness of the beach and the quaintness of Kapaa. Would definitely come here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
