We had a chance to stay twice at this excellent place! I can say that this is THE BEST vacation we ever had. Andrea's cooking is the best i the world. The villa itself is located in the best place possible for this location. I will definitely return and spend time with my family at this villa!!! Thank you it was awesome!!!!

We had a wonderful time staying at this villa. The view is stunning and Andrea is beyond excellent - she ensures everything is clean and tidy and her cooking is amazing (eating out paled in comparison). Having our own pool was one of the major highlights. We have a toddler and the owners were able to provide us with a high quality crib and high chair which was set up for our arrival. The beach really is only a short walk away. The house has everything you need for a carefree vacation.

Before critiquing the property, we would like to thank Jaime and Andrea for their wonderful care. Andrea's food was unbelievable and we miss her D.R. recipes! Jaime worked really hard to keep the villa operational for us - and we mean operational. Now for the property - there were major issues with the property itself. Electricity to the property is supplied by the Sun Village resort. The resort went bankrupt in May and the villa was without any electricity from the end of August for almost 12 weeks. At the time the owners took our final payment, the electricity hadn't been restored and they didn't know when electricity would be restored to the villa. We also weren't told that the resort, for which there were supposed to be compimentary passes, was closed. The Cofresi Beach was a five minute walk but hadn't been maintained for a long time - hence it was unusable, actually disgusting and we were constantly bombarded with hustlers. Also walking at night from the local restaurants was an issue and we ended up renting a car. There was no hydro for 8 hours when we arrived and no water the next day .... so the saga begins. The villa doesn't appear to have been well maintained. Doors wouldn't open; tiles were falling off the backsplash in the kitchen; and the kitchen was infested with ants. We had to put detergent around the sinks and cooking area to try to control the ants but the ants seemed to win! The circuit breaker for the water supply had rusted out and on the 2nd day, there was no water. The float for the cystern was broken - luckily my husband is handy and figured out how to fill the cystern manually or we would have continually been without water. There was no backup power and the hot water heater had to be reset daily with each power blip. Lastly, during the extended period without power, the pool had to be repainted. When we swam, the paint came off mostly on our feet and the chlorine in the pool was so strong, you couldn't open your eyes. We badly needed a family vacation which was achieved; Andrea is a wonderful soul and cooks like a dream; and we thank Jaime for working so hard to keep the place running on what appears to be little resources. The owners were very apologetic and claimed they didn't know about the problems each time they called. FYI, Tamara apparently brought liquid ant killer to try to deal with the ants. We feel that the owners had an obligation to tell us what the situation was before taking final payment.
Owner response:We regret that the stay of the party in the villa was a mixed experience, and the weather was also a big issue. However, the villa is not resort-owned and complimentary services are not part of the villa package, per advertisement. The owners changed the management beginning February 2010, hiring a new management company reputable in this area, to improve the quality of on-going villa maintenance, and make our guests' stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Our family was lucky enough to stay @ Villa Victoria for a 2 wk vacation during April/May 2009. First, let me say that the pictures on the internet, although lovely, do not do it justice...when you see the villa in person, it is even MORE spectacular. It can't be captured in a single photo. The villa was immaculately clean, the pool huge, the staff incredibly accomodating. The area is very safe and secure and is just a few minutes walk to a gorgeous beach. Andrea was charming and very helpful, we grew to love her! Cannot say enough about our wonderful holiday!! We are looking forward to returning in the future. Thank you Paul, Tamara, Jaime and Andrea!!
Owner response:Deneen, Jaime told us about your family.. and also Paul shared some of the "adventures" that you had... We are thrilled that you enjoyed your extended family, the delightful weather, and Villa Victoria. It would be our joy to welcome you and your family back. Thank you for wonderful words... we are grateful. Tamara and Paul

This Villa is out of this world..It is in a safe quiet location. When we walked in and saw the beautiful villa and pool we could hardly believe that we had just left 20 degree weather. If pampering is what you are looking for this is the right place. The beach is just below, the money exchange bank just below and the souvenirs are right by the bank. The best prices we could find right by you..The owners make sure that all of your questions are answered and their staff is outstanding. Andrea the housekeeper is a wonderful cook and keeps everything right in place, so you Mom's are truly on vacation. If you want to relax, this is the place.. If you want to venture out to the attractions they are at your fingertips.. We took our son and his wife there on a college graduation trip and they were in Heaven! It was a trip we all will never forget. We will definitely be back to stay.

We have been to the Carib many times and this was our first visit to DR. We always "take a chance" and book accomodations ourselves. Paul was wonderful and the Villa is more than it appears in the photos. We enjoyed the time there and the Pool was absolutely huge. It is a very special view from the Villa down to Cofresi and the location is easy to get to. There is no way on earth that you can go wrong staying in this fabulous villa. The Cooking is great and a few restaurants nearby are very good!. It is an easy walk to the beach for a fun day.

What a lovely home you have on Cofresi beach! We all loved our week here... had lot of fun travelling to Punta Rusia and Paradise Island-even got to sample some freshly cooked fish! Yummy! We also had a chance to drive to Cabarete and Sosua-fun shopping there! Thanks so much for opening your home to us! Andrea is absolutely amazing-her cooking is fantastic and she seemlessly took care of us all.(from villa guestbook)
