Aloha and welcome to the Papakea Resort, a 13-acre oceanfront resort with a true feeling of Maui. There are two sets of low-rise buildings, each with its own pool, spa, cabana, putting green, shuffleboard, and newly upgraded gas barbecue area. The resort also has three lighted tennis courts and an activity desk with 24-hour front desk check-in availability and free parking.
For those of you who 'must' stay connected, Papakea now offers free Wireless Internet access throughout the resort. For times when you wish to pursue outdoor activities, the golf courses of Kapalua and Kaanapali are nearby, and great snorkeling and boogie-boarding beaches are within walking distance.
Only steps from the ocean, our top-floor penthouse unit has been completely remodeled and provides a beautiful ocean view. There is a view from both the living room and master bedroom. Most of the furniture was custom built. By Hawaii's standards, this penthouse is huge. It is over 1200 square feet. The main floor has two bedrooms with their own 27-inch TV's. The master bedroom is very large with plenty of closet and dresser space. It has a king-sized bed and full en suite bathroom with dual sinks. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a full en suite bathroom. Both bedrooms have custom built desks.
The third bedroom is a loft with a queen-sized bed and its own full en suite bathroom with LCD TV and DVD. All bathrooms feature glassed in showers and granite countertops for the vanity area.
The loft area is unique and quite large. There are only a few loft units available with this type of configuration because these penthouses exist only on the fourth floor and most other fourth floor units are either a one bedroom or studio. Very few units in Papakea have an opportunity to feature a bedroom with a direct view of the ocean from your bed!
Our penthouse is air conditioned with a Split A/C system that cools the entire condo, but with ceiling fans in all rooms... who needs it?! Just open all the windows, listen to the ocean, and let the warm, comfortable tropical air relax you.
The living area has ample seating, as well as a large 50-inch Plasma TV screen with satellite connection and DVD with premium sound system. The new gourmet kitchen features halogen lighting, stainless steel appliances, cherry wood cabinets, and granite counters and bar that allow seating for four during meal preparation. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. A unique feature has been the addition of a wine fridge for those who take their wines seriously. The unit comes complete with washer and dryer.
The marble tiled floors throughout, give it that clean, cool look and feel you desire in the tropics.
The unit has a private lanai with patio furniture overlooking the pool and ocean. Sip a Mai-Tai or Martini on the lanai and enjoy the beautiful views of the pool, the beach, and the island of Molokai. The evening sunsets are spectacular!!
**Spalling project began, April 2012 and continues as a 2 year project with an estimated end date of September 2014. The project involves removing all lanai railings, existing flooring on lanais, spalling repairs (concrete surface of building), water proofing, installing new lanai railings and painting. Work hours are Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm. They are able to work on Saturdays with approval from the AOAO. Following is a schedule with estimated dates in which each building will be affected:
