Tread Softly is a restored farmhouse that was originally the Johnson family cottage. The Johnson family were big names in the area, owners of what used to be a lobster cannery and a general store. Mary Ann Coffey, a renowned interior designer from Rhode Island, fell in love with the area and after visiting on numerous occasions decided to purchase the cottage and restore it. Mary Ann completely transformed the space, opening up walls, and setting about doing what she does best; decorating! With an emphasis on quality, Tread Softly does a spectacular job of reflecting its natural surroundings.
Tread Softly is set back just a bit from the road, across from the Fortune river. The cottage is located just a few minutes walk from The Inn At Bay Fortune, a CAA/AAA Four Diamond, three star inn and restaurant, recognized as one of the best in the Maritimes. There are several beautiful beaches nearby, just a couple minutes by car, or a nice 20 minute walk. The cottage has two bedrooms, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and a cozy living room.
