This spacious two bedroom, completely furnished townhouse provides all your vacation necessities and amenities and is spacious enough to accommodate up to six people. We rented this house in August 2011 and enjoyed our stay. The house in centrally located between the town of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park-just a mile either way. The house had everything you could possibly think of. The house was clean and the beds were quite comfortable. We definitely will return!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.

My family of 4 stayed for a week at the end of May - beginning of June. The owner of this townhouse goes above and beyond to provide a warm and welcoming home equipped with all the conveniences of staying in a home away from home. The location is perfect. Close to downtown Bar Harbor, hiking trails and biking roads, such as the Carriage Roads, sailing, a buy your own lobster house a minute away (delicious). The townhouse is listed as smoke free - an important feature for us - and it smelled smoke free - none of that after smell you often find in hotels which claim to be smoke free but clearly someone has smoked in the room. The owner also provided some very insightful information on hikes, etc. We have hiked in many locations (national parks and forests and Appalachian Trail portions), but Acadia exceeded our expectations in hiking vistas and challenging climbs. We did not encounter the infamous black flies - lucky us! Stay here, you will not be disappointed. One word of warning when shopping in Bar Harbor - before purchasing check the store policy for returns. My daughter purchased a blouse at the Hemporium but by the time she walked the length of the street she realized she should not have bought this item. They would allow a return. They do not tell you this and you are suppose to assume that the sign which reads "exchanges only with receipt - no exchanges on sale items" means there are no returns, period - that's assuming you even see the sign along with all of the other distractions in the store. They make no exceptions and no admission of deception (not even at my suggestion that they not only post a better sign but also verbalize the rule).
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.

"Had a great time and accomplished much. We hiked many trails and mountains and being able to walk to the golf course was so convenient. The accommodations were awesome and the hospitality of the Barker's was above and beyond. Great time! Hope to be back...."

"We had a great time in Acadia, Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Ellsworth. It was especially nice to come back each night to a place that really felt like a home. It has every convenience we needed, down to the pots and pans (we love to cook!).
