Location: Pavones, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, Central America

Accommodations:  House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)

Nestled on just over two acres of lush, tropical rainforest yet only a short drive from miles of unspoiled coastline, Pavones Paradise is ideally located to offer you the best of both worlds.

Newly constructed, the two-bedroom furnished house boasts many of the comforts of home, including three ceiling fans and an A/C unit in the master bedroom. Nonetheless, you still feel worlds away from reality as you step on to the large covered porch to discover a vibrant rainforest at your doorstep.

From there, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Costa Rican wildlife while lazily catnapping on a hammock. Squirrel monkeys, Amazon parrots, toucans, lovebirds, hummingbirds, a three toed sloth, and even poison dart frogs have been spotted on the property.

If you wake up early enough, you’re likely to see squirrel monkeys eating their breakfast and swinging from branch to branch on a tree directly in front of the porch. Furthermore, the heat is moderated greatly by the nearby ocean breezes and the canopy of the rainforest. But if its beautiful beaches dotted with leaning palm trees you seek you need only to drive a short distance.

Two miles to the nearest beach and six miles to the point in Pavones. World-renowned for its superior waves, Pavones attracts surfers from all over. Don’t be surprised to spot plenty of wildlife in town. There are scarlet macaws to be seen as well as iguanas and much more. While you are in town, stop at one of the local restaurants to sample the delicious, authentic Costa Rican cuisine.

If its variety you crave, there is a great Italian spot as well as an open-air theatre/restaurant called La Manta, serving great Mediterranean/American fare. My personal favorite is a little restaurant-bar 15 min. up the road from the house in Conte, Serving up the best Tex-Mex food you have ever tasted, hands down. Ask for the carne mexicana!

So whether its hiking in the rainforest, snorkeling amongst the fish, surfing, or simply taking in the exotic flora and fauna, Pavones Paradise offers you this and so much more!! Come experience this nature-lovers paradise for yourself.

    • If you're looking for a great natural getaway, this is the place. In the first day at the house I captured footage of whote face monkeys, red back squirrel monkeys, white hawks, parrots, toucans, dart frogs and a whole cast of other creatures! The house is very remote and away from all the tourist hustle that I was looking for. The drive to/from San Jose was an adventure in itself! Carolina the property manager is awesome and we've made a vow to keep in touch!

    • The house is great. It's a really nice mountain house in a great private area. There are monkeys that ocationally will come around the yard. There are spectacular views of the Golfito Dulce only minutes away, and a view right at the top of the yard. If your looking for a nice get a way from the tourist locations, or whether your just looking for your own kind of holiday, this place has got all you'll need. I recomend having a bicycle or a vihicle to get you down to Pavones or Zancudo. The property managers of this place are very nice people.

    • I Loved this house located just up the mountian from Pavones. The waves were so good there. Some of the best lefts I have ever surfed. The house was nice and cozy. It Was nice going into the town to surf then coming back to peace and quite at night. The Wildlife was great around the house. We saw so many monkeys, birds, and butterflys. The property managers were great people! The stay was great. Sorry it took me so long to post my comments! I would highly reccomend this house to anyone looking for a place in the area. It was also nice because we could cook some of our own food and keep cold beer in the fridge. Oh and you can't beat the Price!

    • We spent a week at this house in Pavones and would recommend it to anybody. With a waterfall in the back yard surrounded by the rain forest the house is a must see. If you enjoy wildlife and relaxation you found the right place.
