Our Hawaiian style plantation hale is nestled in a grove of Ohia and Albezia trees in the lush rainforest in the Nanawale subdivision. Located just outside of old Pahoa town where shopping, dining, gasoline and markets are less than five minutes from your front door. Although you would never know how close civilization is after seeing this house and it's extremely private location - you'll feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere but are actually minutes from everywhere you want to be on the east side of the Big Island.
You are centrally located to every major natural attraction in the Puna and Volcanoes districts of the Big Island. Want to watch the sun set into the ocean and the lava flow at night? Drive fifteen minutes and you will be able to do both from the same location. If you are really adventurous you can hike to where the lava flows into the ocean for a very special light show. Rejuvenating thermal ponds and multiple tide pools with spectacular coral and sea life are ten minutes from your hale. Beautiful Kehena Black Sand Beach is just twenty minutes away. Volcanoes National Park which boasts the island's best hiking is 40 miles away. Famous for its sea turtle population, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is a short and scenic one hour drive. Green Sand Beach and South Point are also within reach just beyond the Kau Desert at the edge of Volcanoes National Park.
Our hale is comfortably appointed in island style furnishings with the emphasis on comfort and modern amenities. Nine foot high open beam ceilings, pine walls, and real wood flooring in the main living space provide a very attractive environment. Each bedroom has real wood flooring and ceiling fans. Each bath has a tub shower, pedestal sink and tile flooring. The large screened-in lanai allows for outdoor relaxation and star gazing without leaving the comforts of home. The beautifully landscaped yard is filled with exotic tropical plants and flowers that provide for a very tranquil environment.
