Perfection!

Our stay at Morning Glory was everything we had hoped for and more. The owner went way out of his way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The house has everything you could need and is do cozy. The grounds around the cabin provide lots of fun activities for everyone. We especially loved the zipline and the hiking areas. The cabin is also conveniently located for going skiing. Thanks for a great vacation!

Lifetime of Memories

Guest: Prince Troop (Miami, Fl)
Date of Stay: 12/24/10 Review Submitted: 09/06/11

My family and pet Maya spent a glorious time in Morning Glory during Christmas 2010. We got exactly what we were hoping would happen. We stayed in a beautiful cabin, we got snowed in, and we were in the company of extremely warm sweet people. Paul and his family were more than accommodating during a few days of heavy snow. Our vehicle was a two wheel drive van and was no match for the 24 hours of constant snow. Paul and his son-in-law made numerous trips to our cabin delivering firewood and even let us borrow a four wheel drive vehicle to go to a neighboring town and get supplies and better snow proof gear. Who does that in this day and age? Especially coming from Miami, we felt by the end of the week, that we were leaving family when driving off. I can't say enough about the beauty and cleanliness of the cabin, the views, the river bend below us and Paul's family and extended family in the barn. I just made reservations for Christmas 2011...look us up at Morning Glory...see you there!

Owner response:Thanks for the great review, Alex. We had a good time as well. I had plenty of help dealing with the snow, fresh cut frazier firs for those who wanted them, lots of sledding, etc. All and all a wonderful Christmas for everybody here on the mountain. Looking forward to seeing your family again. Hopefully, there will be snow. Paul and Judi

The Best Christmas Vacation Ever!

Guest: Preston (Fayetteville, NC)
Date of Stay: 12/22/10 Review Submitted: 12/31/10

We spent our Christmas vacation at the Riverwalk Cabins in Burnsville. We lodged in the Dogwood Cabin and fell in love with the cabin, surrounding scenery, and especially the hot tub. The inside of the cabin was cozy and welcoming. The owners were very nice, and showed us how to work the in's and out's of the cabin. They provided plenty of firewood, kept the roads plowed around the cabins, and had fun activities at your own leisure at the pavilion area. Their kindness and hospitality was by far the best we have ever experienced in our travels. What we loved most about the Riverwalk Cabins was the reasonable pricing, we could bring our dog, privacy of our cabin, a moderate distance from local attractions and Asheville, and being able to hot tub and grill in the Snow! So, if you are thinking of renting a cabin we would recommend the Riverwalk Cabins.

A great place to go outside of Asheville, NC

Guest: Elly W. (Asheville NC)
Date of Stay: 09/17/10 Review Submitted: 09/23/10

Two girlfriends and I just returned from a stay at Riverwalk and it is exactly what we had in mind. We wanted a cabin in the mountains outside of Asheville. The cabins are really well set up with great beds and linens and nice kitchens. The setting could not be nicer with the mountains and river just beyond the front porch and its great hot tub. I've been to many cabins like this and give this one the top rating for how nice it is.

Morning Glory Cabin - September 4-6, 2010

Guest: Dawn (Aberdeen, NC)
Date of Stay: 09/04/10 Review Submitted: 09/14/10

This was a perfect family vacation for us and ended the summer with a bang for our kids! The location was absolutely beautiful and serene. There was so much to do! The river ran right past the cabin where the kids tried fishing with their bare hands, tubed, and cooled off. My husband and I spent the days hiking the many trails on the mountain and in the woods, then relaxing our sore muscles in the hot tub on the porch enjoying the beautiful scenery. Our dog was in heaven curled up on the porch watching the humming birds eat from the feeder. At night we curled up in cozy, clean beds, after a warm fire as the nights grew chilly. Our kids also spent the days feeding and playing with the horses (Thank you again Ms. Judy!), riding on the zip line at the pavillion, and exploring the "wilderness". We could not have asked for a more satisfying vacation before the school year began. This cabin calls for a definite return!!!

One of the best!

Guest: Lee (Jacksonville, FL)
Date of Stay: 09/01/10 Review Submitted: 09/13/10

We have been visiting Morning Glory cabin for several years and have not found any that compare! It is quiet, secluded, the scenery is beautiful and Judi and Paul are the best hosts you could ask for. They take care of their guests and make sure you have everything you need. The furniture is some of the best, very comfortable (which is very important if you are sleeping/sitting on it for a week or more). We strayed last year and went to Gatlinburg but will never make THAT mistake again! If you want peace and quite in a cabin with all the ammenities, this is the place for you. It is secluded, yet close enough to areas of shopping and entertainment.

Great place to go!

Guest: Sandra S. (Raleigh NC)
Date of Stay: 07/02/10 Review Submitted: 01/16/11

We stayed at Riverwalk for 4 days in 2010 and had an absolutely fantastic time. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and amenities. The location is great, close to Asheville but still far away to feel like you are "getting away". Great hiking in the area. Thanks for a great place to stay! We will be back!

Owner response:Thanks for the great review. We can talk up ourselves until we are blue (so to speak) but so does everybody else in this business. Great reviews from prior guests say more about our property than we ever could. Come back and see us. Tell your friends and family too. Paul and Judi

Wish we could live there

Guest: Nikki (Cary, NC)
Date of Stay: 04/02/10 Review Submitted: 09/13/10

My husband and I have visited Riverwalk twice. We've had a superb time both times. We've hiked, shopped at Ingles and cooked food at the cabin, went stargazing, and spent time looking at Paul's houses around the property. We're keeping it in mind to at least retire to....if not earlier! It's so relaxing on the farm, and we would recommend this place to anyone who wants a place to get away from everything. The Ewings are wonderful people, the best hosts around. :-)

can't wait until 4th visit

Guest: fraas family (orlando)
Date of Stay: 07/19/09 Review Submitted: 08/03/09

We recently returned from our third visit to Riverwalk and have already booked our 4th visit in the fall. We just can't get enough of the beautiful views and peacefull surroundings. I love waking up in the morning and sitting on the porch with my coffee and book, enjoying the sound of the river and the views of the pasturelands with grazing horses. Sitting in the hot tub provides the same view during the day and a zillion stars at night. I loved the availability of XM radio on the TV and the wireless internet kept me connected with my business when needed. My husband spends most of his time standing by/in the river fishing. My kids enjoy the hiking, making s'mores by the campfire, playing badmitton, and especially the zip line. Thanks to the thoughfulness of the Ewings, intertubes are provided for tubing down the river and that was an adventure (they even had a basket full of water shoes in lots of sizes). As far as the accomodations...the cabin is prestine and cozy (nicest cabin we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in a lot of them). The Ewings have thought of every detail from having coffee and little creamers available for the coffee maker to providing a REALLY comfortable mattress. Even the gas grill on the porch is spotless. Burnsville is a quaint little town but we rarely leave the property because we enjoy just being there. Over the years we have always visited some place different in NC with each vacation. Ever since finding Riverwalk, we have not vacationed anywhere else in NC. We have found that all we need for a wonderful and relaxing vacation is right there.

Riverwalk Vacation Rentals

Guest: Caryn (New Jersey)
Date of Stay: 11/01/06 Review Submitted: 09/09/06

My family and I were looking to get away from the suburbs for vacation to a somewhat luxurious log cabin with a mountain view, hot tub, seclusion and quiet. We had a wonderful time at the Ewing's property. The cabin is beautifully decorated and the Ewing's stock it with everything you can think of from DVD player to wireless internet connection. Their property is lovely and the pavillion by the river was a wonderful surprise. We enjoyed the tubing, horse shoes and badminton they provided for their guests. We did day trips to many different sites from Ashville to Brevard to Mt. Mitchell to Roan Mountain and Burnesville was centrally located and a perfect choice for what we were looking for. I must admit we expected a little more seclusion given the acreage of the Ewing's property but found numerous houses along the other side of river which were a little noisy - lawn mower, log splitting from time to time. This didn't detract much from the experience and we had a wonderful time. The Ewing's were very charming and helpful host. I would definetly recommend Riverwalk Rentals.

Can't wait to come back!

Guest: Julia (Atlanta)
Date of Stay: 08/01/06 Review Submitted: 08/30/06

My husband and I were looking for a private but not too secluded riverfront property with a hot tub, and we wanted a little luxury for a good price. We got that and more! These cabins are pristine, looking like they were completed only last week. They have lovely decor, gleaming hardwood floors, and a wonderfully equipped kitchen. The location is great, only a few minutes south of Burnsville, which has an amazing grocery store for a town its size. There couldn't be a better launching point for a day of hiking to waterfalls, driving the Blue Ridge, scaling Mount Mitchell or heading to Asheville if you want more "civilization." Finally, but certainly not least, the Ewings are gracious hosts. They'll provide knowledgable tips about where to eat, hike, or shop. And feel free to spoil the resident horses and goats.

Perfect Retreat

Guest: GeneandElaine (Tallahassee, FL)
Date of Stay: 07/01/06 Review Submitted: 08/30/06

The quality of the furnishings and amenities at Riverwalk far surpass any other rental property that we have used. The cabin has luxurious and very comfortable bedding and furniture and the kitchen is well-equipped. The deck with the hot tub was perfect for relaxing and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds visit their feeder only feet from us. Children with families will really appreciate the river with opportunities to use the rafts or tubes on a warm summer day, and feeding the goats and horses is fun too. Paul and Judy, the owners, are very hospitable and helpful and we really enjoyed picking blackberries on the area of their property that they told us about. If you want to relax and not do much sightseeing, this would be a perfect spot, but it is also close enough to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, and other areas of interest, that you could also enjoy some scenic drives. The Saturday farmers' market in Burnsville is of interest too. We highly recommend this property and would certainly visit again if in the area.
