The cabin was perfect! This was our summer vacation with our four children and we all had a great time. The cabin has everything you would need and plenty of space for everyone to stretch out. The fact that they had all the seasonings, dish soap, and every amenity you could think of made it perfect. The grocery store is only 4 miles away and we made many of our own meals. You are right at the North Entry of the park and in a beautiful setting. I am so glad we stayed here instead of in a Hotel. We would highly recommend this place. Thanks for everything.

Wish we could have stayed longer
Wish we could have stayed longer
Our group of six enjoyed our short stay at this lovely, peaceful cabin. Wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin was clean, well-maintained and had everything we needed. The location was ideal for our daily road trips to eastern Yellowstone and the Beartooth Highway. An extra bonus was how close it was to Mammoth Hot Springs, an area you don't won't to miss. A wienie roast, comfortable beds, a quick load of laundry and the guys relaxing in the lounge chairs made for an ideal stopover.

Best VRBO rental we have ever rented
Best VRBO rental we have ever rented
WOW!! That is the first thing that comes to mine when we stayed in Marty’s cabin. I have been renting places from VRBO for over ten years and this is the best place we have stayed. It was the perfect location next to the Yellowstone River (we went white water rafting past the cabin), five miles from the entrance to the park, and away from the hustle and bustle of Gardiner. The décor throughout the cabin was great. It was the little things in the cabin that impressed the family. From the marsh mellow skewer for the fire, the wine opener for the wife, extra paper towels, spices, books and maps of the park……the list goes on and on. The patio out back was also a welcome retreat after driving the park all day. Oh did I mention the gas BBQ grill – how great is that!! We also had great communications with Marty throughout our first contact about the cabin and the quick return of the deposit check. I have posted a link of this rental on my Facebook page – that’s how much we loved this place. Jeff, Paula, Elizabeth (18), Vanessa (13), and Matthew (9). The journal that was in the cabin was also a nice read. Thanks again for everything.

Wonderful cabin! Charming, comfortable, quiet, super easy access to the park and the town of Gardiner. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 teenage boys. 2 adults stayed in the back bedroom with their own bath, the other 4 shared the second bedroom with bath that could sleep 5. One evening we built a fire in the fire pit in the front and had a memorable time under the stars. Very clean, and well appointed cabin with linens, towels, washer and dryer and everything you can think of in the kitchen! Would highly recommend it for day trips into Yellowstone. Very relaxing after a long day. Owner very helpful all along.

This cabin exceeded our expectations. It looks exactly like the picture. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We toured in Yellowstone everyday. We enjoyed the nights that we got home early to the cabin. My husband and I came here with 5 teenagers. They all told me the cabin was great. Even though the cabin was in a group of cabins, privacy was not a problem. The owner was great to work with and very helpful. If I had the chance I would definately stay here again.

Owner response: This is the perfect home base for your time in Yellowstone Park. Don't stay in a Hotel. Save money and create lasting memories in a cabin on the Yellowstone River.
Hi Marty, Sorry I have not been able to send an email before this. I have been inundated with things since returning from vacation. We did write in your cabin journal, but also wanted to tell you in email, we absolutely loved staying at your cabin. We have been to Yellowstone several times before, and have even stayed at a hotel in Gardiner (as well as lodging in the park). I was a little hesitant about staying in a 'group' of cabins, but it really is quite private and not an issue at all to have people so close. We all remarked on the amazing detail you have in your decor. It was such a comfortable stay. We actually tried to get back to the cabin 'early' each day so that we could spend some time relaxing and enjoying the Yellowstone River flowing by. I can't imagine going back to Yellowstone and staying any place else! I have already received the security deposit check. Thanks again for a wonderful stay! Betsy Glencross

Fantastic Vacation Rental!
Fantastic Vacation Rental!
This cabin was a wonderful place for our family to stay while visiting Yellowstone Park. It was beautiful, clean, and well stocked with everything we could need while on vacation. While at the cabin, we saw pronghorn, elk, and osprey. It was a quiet, comfortable place to come back to every night. It was nice to be able to cook our own dinners every night. My three teenagers all enjoyed it, and that is not always the case! When we come back to that part of the country, we hope we can stay at this cabin again.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! We had a wonderful trip and we loved the cabin! It exceeded our expectations and was probably our best VRBO experience to date. The decor was lovely and everything was so well kept up. Supplying the soap and paper products was a huge bonus. Our son loved his room and really enjoyed having his very own TV in his bedroom (a luxury he does not have at home). The location was perfect for visiting the park and very peaceful and quiet at night. We enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife in the area and took a rafting trip on the Yellowstone River. The park itself was amazing and we were glad to have so much time to explore each area. We took your advice and came down through Red Lodge and the Beartooth Mountains -- what an awesome drive! We also made a daytrip to the Grand Tetons, which was worth the drive. So many photos and so many wonderful memories! I can't imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else during a trip to Yellowstone!

The cabin is absolutely great! It was such a clean and organized place. It had everything we needed right down to the spices for cooking. We had a great relaxing vacation there and recommend this place to everyone. We had no problems from booking to leaving, except we had to go back to work.

This cabin was perfect for us! My parents (mid 70's) were with us, as were my teenaged kids. Yellowstone was BUSY (mid-July) and it was a HUGE blessing to return each day to such serene surroundings. The cabin and grounds are beautiful. This owner took more care to think of the needs of renters than any of the other properties we rented. We saw pronghorn within a few feet of the driveway each day. Listening to the river roll by while drinking my morning coffee was the ideal beginning to every day! If we ever return to Yellowstone, we'll be staying here! Thanks!!!

Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My name is Marty Haskins. In the picture is my father-in-law Frank Kroll. We purchased the cabin in November of 2005 along with my wife Kelly and Frank's wife Debbie. We bought the property thinking of how great it would be to have a 'getaway' that is riverfront, park-front, and forest service-front. We have been blessed to find out the demand for housing near the park. We only thought we would rent out about 6 weeks a year and now are renting the whole summer. We spend a lot of time at the cabin in the spring and fall. The picture you see is the fire pit about 10 yards from our back door. As you can see I like a big campfire.
Why the Owner Chose Gardiner:
Gardiner is a very special place in Montana and it just happens to be the only year round entrance into the park. This location is ideal for a vacation in the Park. For me it is ideal for fishing the mighty Yellowstone River. I have been vacationing in Yellowstone since I was a young boy. I grew up in rural North Dakota and had an Aunt and Uncle who lived in Billings, MT. They had two boys my age so my brother and I would come to Montana in the summer for two weeks and they would take us to the Park. Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle I now live in Bozeman, I met my beautiful wife in Billings and I now own a cabin bordering Yellowstone Park.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin is surrounded by National Park Land, Forest Service Land, and the Yellowstone River. Best of all it is only 300 yards from the park, yet 4 miles from the entrance and the town of Gardiner. You get a secluded base camp from the park that is only minutes away. Our favorite thing to do is sit around the campfire at night while Debbie makes peach cobbler in the dutch oven.
