My family rented this house and two others in the area for a family reunion in July 2011. Our family unit stayed in this house (6 adults, 2 small children) and we had more than enough room and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom are more cut off from the rest of the house, which great for young kids or older family members who want to go to bed early. The upstairs screened in patio is probably our favorite feature - we had most of our extended family over for a family meal and many of us ended up on that patio enjoying the lake and the quiet. The quiet cove is also good for laying out on rafts or sitting on the dock with a cold beverage. The owner was very responsive to questions and our contract and deposit were handled professionally. The house and its furnishings were just as described on the vbro site. Tip: Bring a printed map on your way to the house. GPS and mobile phones got us most of the way there but you do lose a signal now and then. We had coverage at the house itself, though.

Nice house but the most enjoyable feature of this rental was the property. Back yard is huge, relatively flat, well shaded with tall pines and well maintained with nice grass for the kids to play on. We had six kids between the age of 2-7 and it was a perfect spot for the kids to play. Additionally, the house backs up to a quiet cove in the lake which provided an excellent spot for the kids. House easily slept three families (12 people) with adequate room, although we did use air mattresses for some of the kids instead of the futon. Great screened porch off the living room which is isolated from the rest of the house and made a nice spot for the parents to hang out after the kids were in bed. If you have kids and want a nice place to enjoy the lake with plenty of room, this is a great spot and highly recommended. The house may be a little older than other houses on the lake but that's made up for by the nice property.

My family has been renting this property for the last several years. The property has been great for our "family reunion". The house is clean and neat, spacious enough to sleep and feed the entire family. The water and dock are great, even through the roughest droughts we've seen. The reservations, contracting and financing process is straighforward and the owner is always available to answer questions or go over specifics with me. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing time on the lake.

Can't believe our time here has come and gone so fast. We had a great Independence Day! We enjoyed ourselves boating on the water every day! - hope to return next year. Your house was like a home away from home. We're only too pleased to offer our recommendation. In actual fact the website does not do it justice - we thought it looked super when we viewed it but in fact was much nicer in the flesh so to speak. The views of the lake, especially the sunset in the evening, were spectacular!

We stayed at this house for three nights in early November while visiting family in the area. It was perfect!! The view is amazing and you can see it from so many rooms. The yard is spacious with lots of room for running -- there is even a swingset. Inside the house was very clean and it was easy to find everything. I forgot my hairdryer and was very happy to find one in the master bathroom. The towels were thick and soft -- better than most hotels. We were also pleasantly surprised to find wireless internet available. Our children - 7 and 5 - felt right at home, the house really is wonderful for families.

The caption says it all. What it does not say is that the owners are wonderful as well. We were traveling to GA to visit family and an aunt who has incurable cancer. So our trip was bittersweet to begin with. Then we had our reservations canceled by another VRBO owner with only two weeks notice till our travel date. They apparently had a better offer. (They had even cashed our $500.00 security deposit) I frantically began calling and trying to find another place to stay (there were 7 of us including our two young children) and we were unable to change our travel dates. Walter called me back and immediatly said yes he could help us out. He was flexible due to the last minute nature of the agreement and called to check on us after we arrived to make sure everything was ok. He offered any information we might need; from shopping, restaurants and fishing he and his wife were virtual concierges. They also understand what it is to travel with children so their place is equipped with toys and child size glasses etc. You can easily watch your children play from the enclosed deck or patio area. I highly recommend staying at their home. The view and sunsets from the covered decks are amazing. It is beautiful, tasteful yet feels very much like home away from home and your hosts are wonderful.
