The Marsh House is a beautiful home that has obviously been well-maintained. The house is located in a very private setting on the end of a quiet cul-de-sac facing a marsh. The house is elegantly decorated and has high-end appliances in the kitchen, very comfortable beds and nice linens, and spacious bathrooms and closets. Isle of Palms has terrific beaches that are ideal for swimming and for just relaxing or sunbathing. Although the weather is extremely hot and humid in August, there was always a breeze on the beach that made it tolerable to be in the sun or under an umbrella on the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The Marsh House was a fabulous retreat from the noise and crowds of the beach. Mornings started with breakfast on the deck overlooking the marsh, listening to birds and wind and water, watching for wildlife. Follow that with a wonderful walk on the boardwalk and beach, or a bike ride (bikes are provided!). The house is beautiful, and excellently equipped. Lots of soft sheets and towels, plenty of cookware, even paper products. Gene and Cindy were a pleasure to work with, even providing extensive notes on things to do, how to work appliances, even recipes! Definitely a step above other rentals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Marsh House. Although the weather was cold and rainy, the accomodations were nice solace! With an architect in the family, we were impressed beyond words with the design of the home. In light of the weather, our 14 year old was happy to have the 90" television. The walk to the beach was enjoyable along the boardwalk. We often saw 7-8 deer each night as we were driving back from dinner. If you like nature and architecture, this is the place. Gene and Cindy were amazing hosts providing quick responses from the orignial inquiry through the end of the rental experience! We will definitely be back!

Folks, the house was fabulous, absolutely magical. The first step in the door takes your breath away, with the architectural detail, the carefully selected art, and the high-end appointments. It's a quick trip to the beach, particularly down the long dock to the secluded beach on Dewee's Inlet that you won't have to share with the typical throng of Wild Dunes condo denizens. But at the end of Seagrass Lane, you have absolute privacy and quiet. Out on the deck, you see nothing but marsh, going seemingly forever. Almost no sign of civilization. The master bedroom, with it's glass walls, makes you part of the environment. Our first night there was a lightning storm in the distance - with the blinds up, it was like being in the middle of a flashbulb. Spectacular. My mother-in-law and her boyfriend sat on the porch all day watching the view. Occasionally, I hear one of them say, "look, the marsh just changed again." First time we've ever staying in a beach rental with Dacor and Subzero appliances and Baker furniture. Loved it; we’ll be back

If you have found this site, you have found the best of the best! The Marsh House is breathtaking! What a pleasure it was to relax and soak in the beautiful views from every part of this stunning home. The amenities of the house, (for us, the elevator was particularly valuable since we were traveling with an elderly parent) were wonderful. I was particularly impressed that the owners checked in on us by phone to ensure that our needs were met. I look forward to the opportunity to visit again.

My family rented the Marsh House for a week in 4/10 to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. The location is very quiet and private, with the house being situated on the marsh side of the island near a cul-de-sac. The beach is nearby, within a short walking distance. The house, which is spectacularly designed and furnished, is outfitted to meet all the needs and wishes of small multi-generational family gatherings: an elevator, an open floor plan and wide doors and hallways that make the stay comfortable for older family members; ample formal and informal dining space and a fully equipped kitchen for cooks who love good cuisine and bringing the family together to share meals; and a digital electronics system (music, TV, movies) that will keep the younger folks happy. The house has well-furnished (many rocking chairs) screened and open porches and a couple of small decks, so that everyone can enjoy sitting outside for sunning, private reading, small-group conversations or nature watching. The quality of the linens and towels is excellent, the supply is generous, and if they need to be replenished, the laundry facilities are excellent. The house owners, Gene and Cindy, are warmly accommodating and very responsive. I would recommend the house very highly to anyone considering a small group or family vacation on the Isle of Palms or a visit to the Charleston area.

Our stay was for two months,February and March, and our experience was all we had hoped for. The house is well designed, pleasantly appointed and marvelously equipped. The marsh view is always interesting and the quiet, peaceful setting makes for a terrific stay. And the owners are committed to making it a good experience for the renters. We have signed up for next year.

This was our 4th time renting in Wild Dunes and the first time we rented for two weeks. We always wanted to rent on the "marsh" side of the island and found this wonderful, lovely, fun house. Our friends joined us the first week, our son the second and our daughter, who lives in Mt. Pleasant, were all in agreement in liking the house. The house is very spacious, has wonderful views and very well equiped. We are animal lovers and enjoyed seeing the deer on a regular basis. We really hated to leave and will remember this as one of our favorite places.

This message is to anyone who reads my comments: You'd be out of your mind to stay any where else other than this beautiful home. I wholeheartedly agree with all previous comments posted about the Marsh House. It is a perfect house in a perfect location, totally comfortable & absolutely enjoyable. I was happy as a clam just sitting on the porch looking out over the marsh or walking down the road to the long boardwalk over another marsh to the beach. My wife, 2 sons & 2 daughters stayed here 4 nights ( not long enough )during Christmas week & none of us wanted to leave. We plan to reserve another stay here in 2009.

My wife and I have stayed at numerous rental vacation homes at Wild Dunes over the past 10 years, and the Marsh Home is by far the best we have stayed in without exception. When we arrived (for a week in January 2008), it was spotless, without any stains or soiled furniture, perfectly maintained beautiful wood floors, outstanding furnished rooms, and equipped with top of the line amenities such as the dishwasher, stove, garbage disposal, granite counters, Grohe faucets and bath ware, ceramic tiled baths, a music and entertainment center designed for the most fanatic enthusiasts, huge screened and unscreened porches with fans facing an expansive and breath taking marsh area , and detailed instructions in the form of a booklet detailing exactly how to operate and maintain everything. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet place to enjoy the beauty of marsh scenery on the Isle of Palms, and more specifically Wild Dunes, you need look no further for a home with an open floor plan and an outstanding place to simply enjoy yourself and the beautiful surroundings. We will be back! From Winston-Salem, NC

My 5 girlfriends and I stayed here for 4 nights - what a beautiful home and PERFECT location! The gracious owners have provided every single thing you will need for a wonderful stay and the best guide book I've ever seen. The living room and Master Bedroom have the most amazing views - the pictures don't do them justice. I highly recommend this home.

This is an exceptional home providing a unique experience so near to the beach. The marsh view is a delight. The construction, the furnishings and the conveniences are top shelf. The property is in pristine condition and the owners could not be more committed. This place of respite should be particularly attractive to a sophisticated clientele.

Words and pictures cannot do justice to the Marsh House....everything you read in the comments here is true and more....but you must experience it to appreciate the warmth and comfort it provides. We just visited for a second time and extended our visit an extra week to include a few days with our children and grandchildren. Our family absolutely loved their visit and wanted to stay longer but we stood firm. We missed the kids, but loved the serenity of sharing the place just the two of us. It was almost like the kids came "home" to visit. For us, it's the ideal place to get away and "kick back". We will definitely return again!!

We had a wonderful vacation at the Marsh House. The house is spectacular-huge windows, peaceful porches, beautiful views of the marsh, and a private, peaceful neighborhood. Our girls loved riding bikes and walking over the boardwalk to the beach. We saw deer almost every day, rabbits, raccoons, and all kinds of birds. We have stayed in several properties at Wild Dune, and this was by far the most enjoyable. The owners have provided everything needed for a great vacation and are available and easy to deal with. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at the Marsh House. Family members who stayed with us were thrilled with the comfortable bedrooms and the beauty of the house, furnishings, artwork and especially the views. The extensive information book describing how everything works is very helpful, as are the restaurant recommendations. We look forward to renting again!

The Marsh House was for us an extraordinary gift, for it is at once beautiful, soothing and invigorating. To be able to light like this on the edge of the marsh in the Low Country is to draw very close to the meaning of serenity. And what lovely decorative taste and architectural accomplishment. Thank you for sharing it.

What a lovely home! We have stayed at Wild Dunes several times, and this visit was the most enjoyable, because of the lovely retreat provided by your home. The spacious and open interior is calming and inviting, the entertainment system is exceptionally nice, and the porch overlooking the marsh is perfect for both morning coffee and a late afternoon glass of wine. We enjoyed the walk to the beach as well, and the bikes were great to have on hand. We will definately plan to return!

The Marsh house is an ideal place for a quiet vacation away from everything. The house is nestled among the natural vegetation and myrtle trees with beautiful views of the marsh. The interior is contemporary and very comfortable with an excellent sound system and great stored music selection. I would definitely return.

This beautiful house on the Marsh is a retreat. The view of the open marsh is astounding and serene. Adults can be happy just sitting on the porches in the rockers. Older kids will love the beach and activites in Wild Dunes. And, of course, Charleston is only 20-25 minutes away. The owners have done an excellent job with recommendations for restaurants and excursions, and a fantastic entertainment system exists in the house. It's a great combination of comfort and style.

We love the Marsh House! I have been twice, once with my kids and once with a group of girlfriends. My blood pressure has dropped considerably on both occasions. The house is absolutely gorgeous and has everything you need...it is a calming and soothing place. There is nothing like looking out over the marsh, which looks different every hour...I much prefer it to looking out over the ocean. I can't wait to go back!

This house is a great place to stay! We really liked the open floor plan. It's perfect for entertaining. The kitchen is a fun place to cook with enough room for several cooks. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. There is a great sound system with a fantastic selection of music. We enjoyed our walks to the beach. We enjoyed the screen porch, decks and the beautiful views of the marsh. Fred and Eloise
