My family, six adults and 4 grandchildren had a great time at Bayview. Very clean house, comfortable beds. Everything you needed was available. The kids loved the dock where they were able to crab and fish. Thank you David and Karen for the use of the crab traps. I could not pull Mom from the fishing dock. Kids collected shells on the beach and played in the surf.. Cool evenings under the house, beautiful sunsets. Friendly neighbors. Everyone wants to come back again.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Bayview in June. We have been renting houses on the Gulf Coast for 15 years, from Galveston to Corpus, but we have fallen in love with Surfside. Lots of restaurants to choose from, from great burgers to awesome seafood. The house was the perfect size for my family and exactly as described, roomy and comfortable. There were two refrigerators and one had stopped working before we arrived. They were prompt in bringing a brand new refrigerator. My husband, son, Grandson and his friend enjoyed wetting a hook on the private pier, although the fish were scarce. My husband loved having the locked storage downstairs for his fishing equipment. He also commented that it was a very comfortable house, and how nice it was to find a place that didn't have a lot of 'knick-knacks' sitting around. It was nice not having to constantly say "don't touch" to the little ones! The location is perfect, the Bay right out back and the Gulf just a short distance away. I enjoyed watching the birds, and the kids loved the beach. Loved the outdoor shower! The only thing I would recommend improving would be the water system. Be sure to bring plenty of bottled water for coffee, etc. The water pressure was a little 'iffy' at times, but not so bad that we wouldn't want to stay again. Looking forward to an 'All Girl's Getaway' at Bayview in the future!

Owner response:Thanks, Becky We are glad you enjoyed our house. Yes, I agree -- you definitely need bottle water in Surfside. Most (if not all) of the houses are on well water and with the water table so shallow, it's not something you want to drink if you don't have to. Water pressure is iffy also due to the wells and the sediments, but we have made adjustments to our filtration system to improve the water pressure issues.

Just had to write about our great time at your place. This is the second summer our two families have stayed at Bayview. We love the fishing and swimming as well as the close proximity to nearby attractions in Galveston. The open kitchen made it easy to prepare meals for 4 adults and 5 kids. The views and breezes keep us coming back. We'll be contacting you early next year to book the third visit!

I have stayed at Bayview a number of times and keep coming back, so that should tell you something. I like it so much that we had Thanksgiving there and everyone had so much fun that they want to do it again. The accomodations are great; everything that you could need is there. The beach is so close that you don't have to pack up anything and the fishing is great. I highly recommend Bayview to anyone looking for someplace to get away to, relax a little and enjoy life!

We have been renting homes in the Surfside area for 25 years and really enjoyed our week at Bayview. The proximity to the beach was just right, the boat ramp just a few yards from the house was great for our boat and allowed us quiok access to the Intracoastal canal. We caught approx. 50 crabs in our crab traps right on the pier at the house. We plan to come back.

Stayed here in Sept 2007, and LOVED the place. We have rented houses on the beach side several times previously, and the bay side was GREAT. The house was clean with large rooms and good beds. The deck was wonderful. Loved the pier with the fishing and crabbing. The birds were the best! Always figured we'd come back. Hope the house survived the storm and that Surfside recovers fast.

This was our second time we rented the Bayview. We were very happy both times we stayed there. The house is large and very clean and comfortable. We took our entire family (and their kids)and dog. We were very comfortable. Everyone loved the pier with convenient crabbing and fishing. The beach is very close, but the house is also a close drive to restaurants and even more beaches. I have nothing but good things to say about this beach house. We had such a great time both times we went. (Sept. '07 and July '08) We plan to return next summer!

I'm going back! Wonderful beds! Room for two sets of parents and four kids each to sleep comfortably. Kids have their own television if you want them to. Great fishing/crabbing pier right there. Easy walk (5 minutes) to the beach or drive up onto it (1 minute). Great weekend that I needed.

My family which totaled 6 adults and 4 kids stayed 4 days and 3 nights. Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer! The rooms in the house are HUGE and at no point did we feel cramped as you do in so many rentals. The fishing was fantastic as was the quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this house for rental!

A week at Bayview for a vacation just before school started could not have been more fun for our group of 7 which included my Granddaughter and a friend, both 8 years old. Her Grandfather, Uncle and his friend were kept busy baiting hooks and extracting fish from them almost non-stop; Even when T.S.Erin blew in and caused the fish to dine elsewhere, nothing deterred the crabs and a seafood feast Friday night was enjoyed by all. The house was spacious and afforded a beautiful view of the bay while inside and its shady lower level provided excellent views of the fishing pier and beautiful sunsets. Quiet and close to the beach; Bayview has it all.

We stayed for a full 7 days (arrived on a Friday night & left on the next Saturday morning) and I can't remember a vacation that was more pleasurable. The beds were comfortable, the rooms large and the kitchen very well appointed. The washer/dryer came in so handy with all the beach towels. We are such outdoors people and throughly enjoyed the breeze underneath the house where we sat up our chairs and just enjoyed the massive view of the bay. Our grandchildren were never bored (ages 6, 8 & two 9year olds). My husband is confined to a wheelchair and everything was very accessible. He loved fishing from the pier and I couldn't keep him away from it. We used the crab traps every day and got over 100 crabs that were keeper size and had 3 crab boils during our stay. It was so nice to not have to bring a b-b-q pit with us and to have use of the one provided. Very nice size pit as we fed over 12 people every night. Every guest that came and stayed(many of them in wheelchairs) were so impressed. Also, all of the neighbors are extremely friendly and very helpful. One of the neighbor's daughters stayed and played with my grandchildren all one day and fit in nicely with our family. One neighbor put on a fireworks display that was spectacular. What more can I say than I loved, loved, LOVED it. We will definitely be back in October for a quick weekend and hopefully be back for a week every summer here after. Thanks so much for sharing such a wonderful place.

This place is GREAT! Better than the pictures and the description. I rented this for my son's birthday and allowed him to bring 4 friends. And I'm talking teenagers. They loved it and I never felt crowded in this house-very spacious. The walk to the beach is hardly worth mentioning-doesn't take any time at all. The private pier was a treat. We caught all kinds of things, including a stingray. The kitchen is fully stocked and very large. I honestly don't have one bad word to say about our stay at Bayview. We're already planning on doing it again next summer.

We had a great time. The house was really nice and it was clean and ready for us. Loved the quick access to the beach and crabbing off the dock. We caught a big mess of crabs and had a big crab feast for everyone. Delicious! Appreciated all the extra's like the crab traps and such. Also appreciated the good service, communication, etc.

The house, private pier and easy beach access was great. Being able to park right on the beach, or the short walk, makes this location better than most. Galveston was a short drive for the girls to shop and the locals were pleasant and helpful. We'll do it again!

Lovely home in a great setting! Our whole family enjoyed the stay. Fish right off the pier, walk to the beach, eat dinner at The Red Snapper and you can't go wrong. Web photos do not do the house justice at all!
