Comfortable, clean, quiet, well-equipped and dog friendly!
Comfortable, clean, quiet, well-equipped and dog friendly!
If you enjoy Cape May, this is one of the best places to stay. You can really spread out and relax in this spacious home. We've stayed in many places, but this is definitely above and beyond the others. The property was clean and well-maintained, with very up-to-date appliances and a fully equipped kitchen. I traveled with my two elderly parents and the single floor access was perfect for them. There are two bathrooms that make this property good for two couples traveling together or families with children. I also brought along dog companionship and the fenced in yard is especially nice for this in that there is even chicken wire to keep even a small dog from digging out and its equipped with a pooper scooper and covered bucket for easy clean-up. The listing for the house was accurate with descriptive pictures. The owners are good to work with and answered questions and concerns quickly. They were understanding of a mistake we made when putting out the recycling. The property has a large family room and living room, each equipped with a TV and DVD player so that people who don't agree on the same entertainment can relax separately. The wireless internet is also great and easy to access when you need to work on a laptop or connect your kindle. Even off season, this is a great place to relax in that there is still a beach to walk, airport museum, and birding trips by boat. And of course, the shops and restaurants are still great. I could see a family getting together at this house close to a holiday in that it is well-stocked with dishes, with plenty of space. The quiet neighborhood in which this property is located makes it ideal for people with a dog in that you can walk around without a lot of noise, traffic and running into other dogs. It's also much safer than being on a busy street in town. We had a lunch at downtown Mad Batter and the noise of the foot-traffic, cars, and trucks coming and going as we ate was pretty stricking in comparison. In addition, my elderly parents could relax and nap without the noise factor. There are also nice laundry facilities and that's a big plus as well. Don't miss the airport museum (a display on the Boats of 9/11 is presently there), the light house, Cape May Point and the Osprey birding boat on your trip to Cape May. And, just try to relax. That's the tough part.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a week at this lovely home four blocks from the beach. It was very comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. The deck and fenced-in yard was our hangout of choice. Our dog was happy with the yard and large crate provided. We recommend this rental to families too, since it has three bedrooms and large eating areas. It's a winner!

A Home Away from Home
A Home Away from Home
Having rented other properties in Cape May, we've become very aware that this location is the cream of the crop. The house is in immaculate condition with all the amenities. The availability of linens make this a good bet alone! The fenced in yard is secure for the dog, the deck and grill make dinners at home easy, and the kitchen is large and stocked with dishes and like-new appliances. Truly a home away from home. The pictures, while accurate, don't give the rooms justice as to how spacious and comfortable they are, and the centrally-located neighborhood is wonderful: no driving necessary if you're up for a leisurely walk or bike ride. Regular renters take very good care of this house, so if you rent, please, leave it as lovely as you found it for the rest of us! ;-)

We have stayed several times at this home for our summer vacation and always find it enjoyable. The home is always clean and the inside beach decor' just puts you in a relaxed mood. The kitchen in this house is great with all the supplies and even a Kurig coffee maker. It is only a short walk to the beach and the owners have a box there with chairs and unbrella which is very nice. We stay here so we can bring our dog with us since he is a family member, no kennels for our pup! We will continue to stay here because we love Cape May and the house is very nice at a reasonable price.

About the owner: My wife and I always day tripped it to Cape May when we were younger and needed to just get away from it all if only for a few hours. We used to walk the streets with our Golden Retrievers looking at the nice houses and dreamed that one day we might be able to afford one to call our own. Then in 2001 we had an opportunity to stretch out for the brass ring and we went for it! We now love to have summer guests share our home and that same appreciation of all that Cape May offers. Best of all we love that we have made our home dog-friendly so that the entire family can vacation together. Thank you for looking at our site and we hope you get the opportunity to stay with us in the future. John & Diane
