We loved our stay at the Lake Street Cottage and will definitely stay here again in the future. The overall environment was clean, well maintained, and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. We thought the beds were VERY comfortable. All in all, it exceeded our expectations. This was our first experience doing this type of vacation rental so we weren't sure what to expect. The owner was very helpful and responsive to all our questions. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone interested in visiting Sandpoint!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is an overdue review of our stay at The Lake Street Cottage. My family had the opportunity to stay in both of Paula's rentals (VRBO 83218 and VRBO 276205) over the Chrismas holidays - and we loved them both ! Paula was so accommodating with our odd circumstances that we needed a small place for a couple days (and I really wanted a fireplace) and a larger house for the rest of our stay. I have been a flt. attnd. for 25 years and have stayed in literally a hundred rentals and Paula's places are a couple of the very few that are worthy of a repeat. She has taken great care and obvious pride in furnishing them with lovely and very comfortable furniture. Lots and lots of little extras that made our stay perfect - giant down comforters on the comfy beds, nice linens and towels. My sister and I did some Christmas baking while we stayed and her housekeeper made sure that we had everything that we needed. Being able to walk to the nearby healthy market was a plus with the couple feet of snow that we were blessed with. She had such nice things in the kitchen, dishes, mixing bowls, pots and pans - it really made it a great place to be snowed in. The kids had games galore and a drawer full of movies to keep them happy. We will be back in the summer Paula - thank you for everythingRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Three generations got together for the 4th of July. The home was very comfy, exactly as described and a most well-equipped kitchen. We used the canoe and kayak (recommend putting in at Third Street Pier. Go down Third Street toward water. Will run into it.) We cooked all meals at the house and ate outside under the willow tree. The kitchen table ended up being technology central and the wi-fi was essential. Thanks! Oh yeah, and the bikes got a workout too! We watched the hometown parade, shopped, drank at the wineries and Trinity on the beach. Some watched the fireworks over the lake from City Beach, but my husband and I watched them from the patio overlooking the marina at The La Rosa Club where we had dinner four years ago on our honeymoon. Also drove up to Schweitzer mountain and hiked to waterfalls and did the zip line. Loved having coffee in the morning on the front porch and catching up with a sister and my mother. Walked almost everywhere due to your excellent location. Will we come back? You betcha!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I traveled to Sandpoint to ski at the beautiful Schweitzer resort - and Paula really came through for us. The home we were originally going to stay at had a leaking roof and although we contacted Paula late that evening - she rented to us at the last minute and saved our trip - THANK YOU!! Even more - I left a jacket in the house as we rushed home (it is a very sentimental piece of clothing since I got it in Geneva and wore it hiking through the Swiss Alps last summer). Paula and her cleaning team mailed it back! That's stand up service. THANK YOU!! Regarding the home - it is a great little place easily within walking distance of downtown and several places to shop and eat. The corner location is great. Things were clean (including the dishes in the cupboard) and the internet/cable worked great. We usually stay at VRBO properties when we travel - and this home had the touches and value that vault high on our list. Thanks again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Sandpoint is an awesome vacation town.........My family and I were lucky enough to find this darling vacation home so close to downtown. It was supplied with all cooking needs. Cooking in or dinning out you have it all. It's a short walk to the beautiful beach or downtown for all the wonderful shopping along with so much to see. The house is very clean and well kept. Ideal for our family. We loved it........Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We took our family vacation in Sandpoint, where we had lived several years ago, we wanted to share this wonderful place with our children. This home is in a great location, my son wanted to bike everywhere! There was plenty of room inside and out...we even had room to park the boat! It's very nicely decorated, spacious upstairs, lots of sunlight and VERY clean. Thank you to the Davys we had a fantastic time! S, L, J, MDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My girlfriends and I loved this little home! We loved the upstairs loft. The bathroom was awesome, with a very cool tiled shower!! The beds were comy, the furniture too, & we had everything we needed. It was so close to town we walked everywhere! The back yard was great because we had our little jack russell terrier that could run around and play and we didn't have to worry about him running off. We enjoyed the back yard alot! We rode the mountain bikes too! What a bonus! It was just such a cozy place to stay and we will definately be back next year! Thank you for sharing your home with us! We totally loved it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We couldn't have been more delighted upon finding this sweet vacation rental in Sandpoint. First and foremost it was very clean and nicely decorated. It was roomy enough for eight adults and had all the extras...two televisions, two roomy bathrooms with lots of towels, wonderfully comfy beds and a great kitchen with plenty of space to create a wedding cake. The proximity to downtown and the lake was just a few short blocks away. We didn't have time to take a bike ride but they were available for our use. In addition, the price was the absolute best and made our trip to a nephew's wedding so reasonable. Thank you to the Davy's for sharing your home. Sue JeffriesDid you find this review helpful? We found the Lake Street House charming, quiet, and convenient to shopping and walking. It was very relaxing to stay in this neighborhood on the south side of town - friendly people, lovely yards and happy children. This rental in Sandpoint is a treasure. The owners have went out of their way to make it a true Vacation Rental. The decor is beautiful (it felt as though we had a professional decorator come and decorate to our preferences). There are many upgrades made for comfort but the charm remains. The kitchen was well stocked with all utensils needed. There was plenty of bedding and toweling. The bicycles are an added pleasure. The Sandpoint community stop for bikers and walkers to cross the streets. This cottage is convenient to most everything in town. There were many games and a fantastic movie library for all ages. I only wish I had time to visit more.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

About the owner: We are empty nesters happily living in Northern California, still working full time but dreaming about semi-retirement with the option of spending our summers in Sandpoint.
Why the Owner Chose Sandpoint:
We visited Sandpoint and were instantly captivated by its sophisticated simplicity. It is a step back in time to a simpler America but has all of the modern amenities travelers love….GREAT restaurants, hip wine bars, live entertainment and lots of outdoor adventure in the midst of beautiful scenery… a winning combination for a relaxing and exciting vacation experience. We love doing projects and decorating at the Lake Street Cottage, it is our life sized doll house!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love that our home is so conveniently located close to town. When we get there we park the car and bike or walk EVERYWHERE! We love to sit on the front porch with a cool drink and some good friends or BBQ in the backyard with the whole family. Our guests tell us over and over again that the most memorable part of their vacation was the time they spent reconnecting with their family. For us that makes all of our hard work worth it!
