BEST CONDO at Island Retreat
IS Retreat #33 - Ground floor with access to beach walk from balcony
While some condos boast new paint we took it one step further. We TOTALLY remodeled our condo, raised the ceilings, put in new sheetrock and 'recessed' lighting with dimmer switches and installed new ceramic tile floors throughout.
After that, we purchased all new furniture, all new appliances and installed beautiful birch and glass kitchen cabinets and updated our bathrooms with new sinks, toilets and cabinets. The beds have new mattresses, sheets, comforters and quilts and the whole condo is 'squeaky' clean!. Latest addition: 1080 pix flat screen TV with DVD player and wireless Internet. Sectional Italian Natuzzi sofa with recliners.
Our condo is located in Island Retreat, Port Aransas with great restaurants and fun activities. The exact address is Island Retreat #33, 700 Island Retreat Road, Port Aransas TX 78373 (for those of you who like to map out your trip). Island Retreat is a 'family' kind of place. Kids love it here as do their parents!
NO STEPS FOR YOUR LITTLE ONES...WE ARE LESS THAN 20 FEET AWAY FROM THE BEACH FROM OUR PATIO WITH A PRIVATE ENTRANCE. See beach pathway from map below. Check out the 2 awesome pools, tennis court.

My family stayed a week here and we loved it. Everything is just as advertised. Clean, open floorplan, great, well stocked kitchen, nice beds. The patio opens onto the grassy courtyard, the pool is huge, nice basketball court, picnic tables and grills PERFECT! A very nice boardwalk takes you right to the beach. Easy to get to restaurants and shops. We were there at Spring Break and the beach was hopping during the day but the courtyard area was still so peaceful and private. We have stayed at three other locations around Port A and this one was by far the best.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great time in Port Aransas at your Island Retreat condo. the condo was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. we really liked the new sofa with recliners; made us feel right at home. We think IR is a perfect place to vacation in PA, we really like the boardwalk over the dunes to the beach and the staff are friendly and helpful. we have some great memories from this trip. thank you so much,Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The condo had recently been updated and was clean and very nice. It was located on the ground floor which gave us quick access to the back yard / beach. It was apparent that the rest of the properties and grounds were in the process of being updated as well. Pool, basketball court, shuffle board, new board walk to the beach. We brought both our dogs with us and they loved it as well. Everything went off with out a hitch - which is always nice when you're on vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thanks for a wonderful week of family fun and bonding! Kids (age 8, 6, 3, and 1.5) had a blast at the beach, collected a ton of sand dollars, and appreciated the stash of picture books in the bedroom. Mom and Dad enjoyed the fully occupied kids who were so exhausted they fell asleep super early each night!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Just got back from vacationing at this condo yesterday afternoon and wanted to let others know how great this condo is!!! We had a GREAT time staying there. It was myself, my wife, our 2 year old son, and my mother. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay!!! Very close to the pool but not too close as we never heard any noise from people out there. Great access to the beach. Plenty of community grills and picnic tables for everyone to use. Parking was right outside the door. Close to town for restaurants and shopping but far enough away to avoid the crowds both on the streets and on the beach. And of course, the upgrades that have been made to the ceiling, lights, floors, bathrooms, and kitchen made the condo very comfortable and welcoming. In fact, it was so nice that we had initially talked about doing our summer vacation elsewhere next year but are now having second thoughts and are strongly going to consider renting this exact same condo again. I've rented via VRBO about 10 times over the last several years and this condo/experience ranks right at the top!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was just as described on the listing. The beach is just over the boardwalk, the condo is close to the jetty boat and fishing pier, and close to many good restaurants. The property was beautifully maintained. we found the accomodations quite comfortable and clean. It is ground level, huge back lawn, pool, tennis courts and laundry available close by. Beach about a block away,easy walk. Many restaurants with good food. We enjoyed the town of Port Aransas, The property is well maintained, the owner very helpful and considerate, and have recommended the property . Fishing available with or without guide.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This is the second visit to this condo and I had a great time on both occasions. The condo is clean and well maintained. Its very convenient to the beach, just a short walk over the boardwalk and you're on the sand. Close to town also. I will be going back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

I stayed at this condo during spring break. Great location, short walk to the beach, very close to town. Condo is as described. It was to cold to swim but pool was very clean and maintained everyday. I loved the big yard area in the middle of the complex and the water hose at entrance to complex from the beach (to wash sand off). I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers.
