Beautifully decorated 98 m² apartment with view onto Aix's famous Cours Mirabeau.

Newly furnished, light, sunny apartment (south and west facing) which is full of character (exposed wooden beams, amazing views) and is located on the top floor of a listed building which is located in the heart of Aix's lively town centre.
Air conditioned, living room with dining area, self contained kitchen with view onto rooftops, 2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom + separate WC.
Sofa bed (sleeps 1 adult or 2 children) on mezzanine with small office area + separate WC.
Appliances: washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, oven + hob, flat screen TV, radio

A commanding position right in the centre of Aix, looking down the Cours Mirabeau, and everything a short walk away. Spending 11 weeks there, we got to know and love it – although that’s probably possible just by looking at the photos. Being on the top floor of an old “hotel” (mansion), the apartment gets lots of sun from both the southern side and front of the building – important for us in winter. Excellent views across rooftops, and down the Cours – where all sorts of things happened, including the Christmas chalets and parades. Stacks of room with two complete bedrooms, as well as a sofa on the mezzanine, and with a well equipped kitchen that is relatively large for such places. Exceedingly well managed, and well maintained. Numerous shoe shops, hairdressers and opticians immediately downstairs, plus every other possible shop. Cafes and restaurants within a short walk in every direction. A walk to the daily market, but markets reach nearby three days weekly. You’d need many months to discover facilities even within a three-minute stroll, such as the Jeu de Paume theatre. A top cake shop right at the door, although you might need to hunt down the cheese shop in the Passage. As well as a very grand staircase, the building has a lift, for which tenants need a key. As luck would have it, the lift was out of action once when we had to lug suitcases upstairs, and again when we finally left. After nearly three months, we’d have to find a few irritations, but other than mentioning the noisy street some nights, they would be ridiculously niggardly to hint at, and I would not want to put anyone off. Much as we’d like, we’re probably not going to get lucky enough to return for any length of time.

Very spacious, comfortable and airy living-dining room, well equipped; very well-equipped kitchen in terms of both cooking and laundry facilities, comfortable beds and pillows; very well-situated apartment in central Aix-en-Pce which made everything easily accessible, food shopping, train station, car hire, exploring the town on foot; very stylish building. We really appreciated the fact that Laurent waited for us even though we were late arriving as our train had been delayed. Here are the less positive aspects of our stay: there were too few bath towels for four adults. Equally, hanging space in the smaller bedroom would have been welcome, plus a working central light.
